REINVENTING RETRO CHIC

Braving the chilly Los Angeles winter last weekend, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren took their daughter Honor Marie to a friend’s house for a children’s party on December 14. With other celeb parents including Nicole Richie and Joel Madden in attendance with their daughter Harlow, I’m wondered why Jess doesn’t look too enthused as she made her way into the party. Maybe Honor is keeping Mom up too late at night? Jess looked oh-so-retro as she arrived at the kiddie bash in faded flare jeans (doesn’t get any better than Joe’s Jeans’ Stardust Super Flare Jean in Vanna), an oatmeal turtleneck (try Autumn Cashmere’s cozy Buttoned Elbow Sleeve Turtleneck in Hemp) and an old fashioned plaid overcoat. Completing her blast from the past look with a wavy ‘do accented by thick fringe bangs, mod white sunnies and a gold trinket necklace (Elizabeth Gillett’s charming Grace Necklace in Gold is a nice pick), the ‘fit wouldn’t be a true representation of the 70’s era without the unmistakable round toed, nail studded clogs peeping out from under her flares. That’s right, clogs. When Jessica does retro, she does it right! What do you think of the look – is Jess bringing mod into the new era, or does it look like she’s heading off to a costume party? Getting in the holiday spirit, Jessica has said countless times since she became a mom how giving birth has inspired her to give back to the world, taking on causes from global warming to politics. With her own child in mind, Jess was one of a handful of celebrities this year to design holiday artwork for Netflix’s Feeding America holiday project.
