RED CARPET SWEATER?

Letting her style guard down for a night, Angelina Jolie made an appearance at the premiere of her pal Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino in Los Angeles on Dec 9, wearing a disappointingly drab ‘fit. There is no way to describe this look as anything other than something a tired and rushed mother of 6 would throw on as she made her way out the door! Starting with a bland Ralph Lauren crew neck sweater (see Smitten’s High Neck Double Breasted Sweater Jacket in Grey for a more interesting take), black skinny pants (avoid the wrinkles around the crotch with Tag Jeans’ Stretch Skinny Pant in Black), and Stuart Weitzman nude peep-toes, Angie kept her look clean with no jewelry and slightly mussed up espresso tresses. Is it possible her stylist was off duty for the night? Despite her less than stellar appearance, Angie was actually smiling and laughing on the red carpet for a change, happy to support her former director’s latest work. She has plenty to thank Clint for – after all, his directing did earn her a Golden Globe nomination! Clint recently spoke fondly about his work with Angelina, "She is an actress hampered by her gorgeous face--I think the most beautiful face on the planet. People sometimes can't see past that to her talent. She's on all these magazine covers so it's easy to overlook what an amazing actress is underneath."
