With an upbringing centered around her figure skating training and performances, Rachel McAdams was born to entertain. She was born in the a picturesque Canadian town of London, Ontario and raised in nearby St. Thomas. At thirteen years old, she began acting while attending a theater-themed summer camp. She continued to act in local plays and eventually majored in theater at York University, where she graduated with honors and a B.F.A. degree.
Although she had a noteworthy role in The Hot Chick (2002) with Rob Schneider, she first hit it big when she played a socially vicious high schooler in Mean Girls (2004). Since then she's been in such blockbusters as Wedding Crashers (2005) and Red Eye (2005).

We all know that Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling met while filming the surprise hit film The Notebook, and this low-profile Canadian couple has done a very good job at avoiding the paparazzi and staying out of the tabloids. In 2005, while rumors were swirling that this on-screen duo were seeing each other off-screen as well, the pair remained hush hush about their personal lives. Then, at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, after winning the Best Kiss Award, they proceeded to passionately kiss for the world to see, and later admitted that they were indeed seeing each other. As of late, the couple has remained to stay out of the limelight, which could only mean one of two things... they're on their way to splitsville or there will be wedding bells in the future. One thing is for sure, they need a catchy moniker, à la "Brangelina" or "TomKat". Viva la Rychel!
Rachel McAdams seen on Oct 08 2009 in New York, NY. Canadian sweetheart Rachel McAdams was spotted wheeling her luggage in NYC on October 8, braving the chilly day with fingerless gloves (check out Diesel's Mouwu Half Gloves) and an eco-friendly aluminum thermos in place of a Starbucks cup. Rach took her Soho stroll in a burgundy plain button up (soften up with Joe's Jeans' West Plaid Pocket Shirt in Pink/Navy), army green wool coat (Suzabelle's Marin Trench Coat in Grey Tweed has similar styling) and classic blue straight leg jeans (try Serfontaine's Fox Straight Leg in Neptune). To complete the 'fit she added sharp black boots, a simple black tote and colossal black and gold ring (very similar to Allison Daniel's Simple Setting Ring with Jet Sunburst in Gold). Her ears must be ice cold with her hair pulled back like that, but she looks professional and down-to-earth at the same time and I dig it. What do you think of the look? Leave it to Forbes to clue us all in on what entertainers are worth, but their latest list "Best Actresses For The Buck" has some surprising nods. Instead of looking at who gets paid the most, Forbes analyzed how much money actresses make for the studio for each dollar they're paid. So you won't find Angelina Jolie anywhere near this list with her $10 million salary, but old rival Jennifer Aniston came in at a cool #6 despite her recent rom-com flops. Rachel comes in at #3 on the list, behind Naomi Watts and Jennifer Connelly in the top two spots – both surprising choices, IMO. The other leading ladies include Natalie Portman, Meryl Streep, Halle Berry, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and Hilary Swank. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think almost all of these ladies have had Oscar nods at one point or another? Definitely good company for Rachel to be in, especially as she prepares for the release of Sherlock Holmes this winter. Congrats, Rach!
Rachel McAdams seen on Sep 12 2009 in New York, NY. Checking out fashion's finest for the upcoming Spring season, Rachel McAdams was spotted catching a few runway shows this week in NYC. On September 12 she attended the Altuzarra show at Milk Studios, arriving in a loose black top tucked into a black and white bandage skirt from the Boy by Band of Outsiders Spring 2010 collection and charcoal heeled brogues (try Zoa's Big Boyfriend T Shirt in Black with Nanette Lepore's West Indies Stripe Skirt in Black/White). The look is nothing to call home about, very polished and chic for the show, but I'm not feeling the messy hair. At the show Rachel paused for a snapshot with pal Leighton Meester, who wore a stunning plum Emilio de la Morena dress with silk accents (check out AmberLynn's Midnight Maiden Dress in Plum) paired with purple Proenza Schouler lace-up ankle boots. Their choice of footwear is similar but I can see the trademark red Loub soles poking out on Rach's – does anyone know if CL makes these? Later in the week on September 16 Rachel attended the Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 show, arriving in a shirred blue sheath dress with a cowl neck and bronze snaps lining the left side (nab the bright shade with Morphine Generation's Drapey Dress in Electric Blue). She must have gotten the hint about the lackluster locks, showing off a new blonde infused 'do with whispy bangs and voluminous curls. A turquoise belt and caramel peeptoe Loubs complete her 'fit – what do you think of the cornflower blue shade with her complexion? She's worn the shade before and I don't know what could be more flattering against her porcelain skin. Rach sat next to Anna at both the Alexander Wang show and at Proenza Schouler, raising the suggestion Rachel might be tapped for an upcoming Vogue spread or possibly even a cover? Oooh, I'm intrigued, are any of you?
Rachel McAdams seen on Sep 05 2009 in Deauville, Normandy, France. Looking lovely as always while spending time in France for the 35th American Film Festival, Rachel McAdams plays it casual at a photocall with co-star Eric Bana for their newest flick The Time Traveler's Wife in Deauville on September 5. Rach arrived in a voluminous Stella McCartney Resort 2010 tunic with a Henley front and alternating rows of stripes (Diane Kruger wore a similar skirt from the SM collection in Berlin in July). I love the murky ink shade against her hair, but I'm not sold on the baggy shape – thoughts? For slightly more tailored versions, try Ella Moss' Chantal Puffsleeve Dress in Night, Generra's Flutter Dress in River Blue or Qi's Mesh Ornate V Neck Dress in Navy. Rach stuck to the basics for this event, polishing her 'fit with a statement ring (try Femme Metale's sinister Snake Shell Ring in Pink) and a killer pair of heels. Do you think the casual hair and rosy pout are appropriate for walking the red carpet? In other news, it appears Ryan Gosling and Josh Lucas aren't the only Hollywood bachelors who can't resist Rachel's charm. Antonio Sabato Jr., former Calvin Klein model turned reality TV star of VH1's newest dating flop "My Antonio," recently fessed up to his crush: "I really like Rachel McAdams… I met her in New York and I think she's really beautiful." Bummer for him, Rach and Josh are still happily dating – unless she feels like joining in on some reality TV drama?
Rachel McAdams seen on Aug 12 2009 in New York, NY. Out promoting her new movie The Time Traveler's Wife on the eve of its release last week, Rachel McAdams looked stunning in New York City in two daring looks on August 12 and 13. At the premiere held at the Zigfeld Theatre, Rachel worked the red carpet in a white Emilio Pucci dress with a plunging wrap neckline (try Raw 7's Embroidered Loop Hole Dress in Pure White before summer ends or if you like the draped look check out Interlud's Band Picket Dress in Coral Red). I don't usually like the 80's shoulder pad look but this frock is stunning on her! The hair and make-up also add a sexy, mussed up look that is in perfect contrast to her usual polished look – for example, the way she styled her hair and makeup the following night for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. For her tv appearance, Rachel looked sophisticated cool in a plum 3.1 Phillip Lim frock with a split keyhole neckline and a flirty mermaid ruffle down the front (try Black Halo's Bustier Detail Pleated Mini Dress in Geranium in the same shade). Again keeping her accessories simple, Rach wore her hair up to show off sparkly teardrop earrings (Kuo Ting's Amethyst and Purple Coral Earrings in Gold would be stunning with a dress in the same shade) and wore the same classy Christian Louboutin "Pigalle" pumps both nights. Maybe she forgot to pack her shoes? I like the classic pointy-toe with the second look but with the white she could have pulled off something more exciting, don't you think? Although Rachel was a little nervous about how the adaptation of one of her fav books would pan out, the movie had a great opening weekend, grossing over $18 million. Brad Pitt is one of the producers, so it can't be all that bad, right? It is getting a pretty horrible rating on RottenTomatoes.com though – only 36% fresh! Would any of you disagree?
Rachel McAdams seen on Jul 24 2009 in San Diego, CA. Heading south to sunny San Diego for the Comic-Con 2009 festival earlier this week, Rachel McAdams put her best foot forward at the Sherlock Holmes panel discussion on July 24 with co-star Robert Downey Jr. Looking polished and pretty in a seductive black embellished tank (try Rebecca Taylor's Cami with Pailettes in Black or spice it up with Zoa Ltd's Scoop Neck Animal Print Tunic in Deep Blue) and body hugging black skinnies (just like True Religion's Julie Supervixen Black Jean in Supervixen), nothing about this look really wows me besides the sexy triple strap Casadei Mary Jane heels. I think I just added a new edition on my wish list! While Rach looks great at the event, the 'fit is just so-so in my opinion. It's summer in San Diego – her stylist should have dressed her in a more colorful palette! What do you readers think of her Comic-Con vibe? While most of us fell in love with Rachel after The Notebook and Wedding Crashers , she sat down with USA Weekend to chat about the direction her career is going. With lot of big projects in the works - The Time Traveler's Wife out later this month and Sherlock Holmes coming this winter – it's hard to imagine Rach having anything to worry about, but she shared what every actor fears with reporter Rebecca Louie: "Let's be honest. I was totally terrified that I would never get back on track and I would never work again." This is in midst of Rachel filming Morning Glory with Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton, so I think it's safe to say Rach is back on top!
Rachel McAdams seen on Jul 12 2009 in New York, NY.
Canuck sweetheart Rachel McAdams has been hard at work on the set of her new film Morning Glory in NYC over the past few weeks, and on July 12 she looked adorable filming scenes in the city. Toting an envious caramel Givenchy Medium Eclipse Hobo (opt for Julie K's Tia Hobo Shoulder Bag in Mocha), Rachel looked too cute in her pink heels, frothy nude dress (check out LaROK's Cup de Jour Dress in Nude or Sue Wong's Beaded Bodice Empire Dress in Beige) and white cropped shrug (like Elizabeth Gillett's Kylie Knit Cardigan with Ribbed Border in Ivory). The navy scarf hanging from her bag adds a nice sophisticated touch as well! Whoever is styling Morning Glory has an eye for detail, even if it looks like Rach is heading to a wedding. The new comedy tells the story of Becky Fuller, a TV producer trying to save her failing morning show from being canceled. Apparently this involves a lot of running in heels? As I've mentioned before, Rachel has been doing her part to be eco-chic for some time now, spotted biking frequently in Toronto and LA (she doesn't own a car in either city) and runs a blog GreenIsSexy.org with her BFF's. Rachel's latest eco-endeavor: urging women to switch from cotton to bamboo and soy underwear! She recently told Contactmusic: “A sexy green thing to do is to wear bamboo underwear! They sound quite painful but they’re actually quite soft. I’ve also got soy underwear!... Our philosophy on the website is not to have green guilt necessarily; just do what you feel comfortable with and you’d be surprised how you feel the positive affects.” She's 100% right on that one – bamboo and soy are actually much softer than cotton! Are any of you attempting to wear more eco-friendly fabrics like organic cotton and bamboo?
Rachel McAdams seen on Apr 24 2009 in New York, NY. Looking electrifying in a brilliant blue tunic, Rachel McAdams strolled through SoHo in New York City on April 24, chatting away on her phone and completely ignoring the paps. She doesn't always have the best style but I love Rachel's sense of normalcy - you'd never guess she's a celeb from her casual looks like this. Rachel started with a bold blue frock (check out Smitten's A-line Turtleneck Dress in Blueberry for warmer temps or Karina Grimaldi's Zuni Silk Mini Dress in Royal Blue) over black leggings and buckled knee high boots, with a casual coordinating scarf around her shoulders (try a standout printed option like A Graves' Basket Weave with Shield Scarf in Blue) and an ash grey tote over her arm (check out the roomier shape of Antoinette Lee's Besa Bag in Dove Grey). What do you think of Rachel's look - would you wear a similar 'fit? The dress could fit better but there's something about those boots that I just love! Rachel has had an extended NYC stay over the past few weeks, first promoting her new thriller State of Play, then spotted checking out potential apartments with her beau Josh Lucas and attending the Tribeca Film Festival to support her man in his new movie Tell Tale. All of her hard promo work seems to be paying off - State of Play is holding strong with a steady 84% rating on RottenTomatoes.com, attributed to an outstanding cast and a great script. The movie has grossed over $25 million since it was released 2 weeks ago - have any of you made it to the theaters to see Rach on the silver screen yet?
Rachel McAdams seen on Apr 23 2009 in New York, NY. Getting used to her new NYC surroundings, Rachel McAdams took a stroll through the West Village on April 23, stopping to pick up a few books from a public library. It doesn't get more down-to-earth than that! While out and about running errands on Thursday morning, Rachel kept it casual in a white tank under a classic cardigan (Autumn Cashmere's Puff Sleeve Crew Neck Cardigan in Dusty Purple is adorable for spring) and lightweight denim flares (check out Pierce Jeans' Bleu High Waist Trouser in Midnight Bleu). Opting for heeled brown boots, a classic khaki trench (try something lighter for spring like Woo's Martin Coat in White) and a slouchy grey hobo bag (check out Linea Pelle's Danielle Large Satchel in Grey), Rach is dressed more like a busy mom than a famous actress. I'm not going to advocate anyone completely copying this everyday look, but do you think it's acceptable for making a few stops around town? Rach has been spotted making her way all over the city this week, making promo appearances for State of Play and checking out possible new dwellings with her beau Josh Lucas. I know everyone wants to see Ryan Gosling and Rachel back together living happily ever after like their Notebook characters, but I gotta say Rach and Josh make a pretty cute couple too! They've been dating since January, when they were spotted together at a few inauguration parties (both are big Obama supporters). Onlookers said, "They were so lovey-dovey. They were nibbling on each other's necks, gazing into each other's eyes and doing a lot of flirty touching." How cute! Everyone wants to jump to the conclusion they're thinking about co-habitating because they were spotted checking out apartments together, but let's rationalize for a moment here: no one likes to go house hunting solo! What do you think of Rach and her new man together - is it more than just a fling?
Rachel McAdams seen on Apr 15 2009 in New York, NY. Out on the promo circuit, Rachel McAdams arrived in NYC on April 15 to stop by The Today Show. Not letting the rain get her down, Rach arrived when it was still dark out in a fun red and black striped skirt and classic black tights. Tucking in a white tank, Rach wore a chic black blazer (try William Rast's sassy Outerwear Black Jacket in Black) topped off with a cozy grey coat (William Rast's Outerwear in Military Green) and simple hoop earrings (Michele Michel's moderately priced Swarovski Hoops in Silver are a great pick). Love the flirty bangs and curled locks (watch the Today Show clip to get a better view), and of course the red soled Loub booties add a nice touch. Overall I'm loving this look - what do you readers think of Rachel's style choices? Rach is in NY this week promoting State of Play, her new thriller that is out in theaters today. In the movie, Rach plays a hot young online journalist (aka blogger) turned political reporter after she gets wind of a scandal involving the murder of a congressman's mistress. The thriller has plenty of twists and turns and stars Rachel alongside Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman and Helen Mirren. The entire cast has gotten great reviews for their edgy rendition of the BBC 2003 miniseries that inspired the flick, but Rachel confessed playing a blogger was a bit of a stretch for her - she had a lot of catching up to do! Rach tells: “I am not a tweeter. I’ve been completely educated about this today. I heard about Twitter for the first time, and it’s all I’ve heard about ever since. I’m really ignorant. I don’t subscribe to newspapers. I really do listen to the radio. I listen to CBC, NPR and I find it’s something you can multi-task to. You know, eat your breakfast, and drive, and get your news at the same time.” Rach downplayed herself a little bit - she writes (well, maybe she doesn't really write, but her name appears) on the eco-blog greenissexy.org. Check it out and see what you think of Rachel's pro-green anti-tech lifestyle!
Rachel McAdams seen on Apr 02 2009 in Las Vegas, NV. Literally glowing with happiness, Rachel McAdams let loose last night on April 2 in Las Vegas at the ShoWest convention, hosted by the National Association of Theatre Owners. Rachel was the delighted recipient of the “Female Star of the Year” award at the ceremony held at the elegant Paris Las Vegas hotel. Rachel wore an adorable off shoulder mini dress (check out colorful spring options like Walter’s Neon Watercolor Print Dress in Pink Multi or Ingwa Melero’s Printed Mia Mini Dress in Lavender) to the ceremony that reminds me of the color and texture of cotton candy – don’t you think? Accessorizing with nude Christian Louboutin pumps, Rachel wore a dainty gold bracelet (like Kimberly Faith’s Flower of the Month Bracelet in Gold) and carried an irresistible yellow pleated clutch (add some sunshine to your ‘fit with Carla Mancini’s Flap Over Bag with Chain Strap in Yellow). What do you think of the look? Rachel normally sticks with the safe side, so I think it’s refreshing to see her looking so perky and chic for spring. She also pulls off the dress nicely – would the blouson style be flattering on any of you? ShoWest co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser hailed the association’s decision to honor Rachel: "Since capturing the attention of Hollywood with her breakout role in 'Mean Girls,' Rachel McAdams has continued to impress audiences with her versatility. From the satirical humor of that film, to the romance of 'The Notebook,' to the suspense of 'Red Eye,' to the outrageous comedy of 'Wedding Crashers,' McAdams has proven that she has the natural ability and depth to take on roles of all dimensions and that she is a true force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. McAdams brings a true sense of grace and beauty to each of her roles." At the ceremony, Rachel joked about her success: “They’re really good at coming up with these big sweeping award titles, aren’t they? Don’t get me wrong. I love the event and my sister loves Vegas, so it makes for a nice couple of days.” Who doesn’t love a few days in Sin City every once in awhile?
Rachel McAdams seen on Dec 11 2008 in London, UK. Giving us a glimpse of her period costume, Canuck cutie Rachel McAdams was spotted in full costume on the London set of Sherlock Holmes on December 11. I wouldn’t try to emulate Rach’s dramatic curls or heavy theater make-up, but you can create your own old fashioned ‘fit starting with Denim of Virtue’s retro Super Flare Jean in Pinstripe Indigo paired with an equally comfy black jacket (Holly’s Baby Doll Jacket in Black has the perfect feminine modern balance) and a pair of throwback shoes (like Matiko’s Sassy Wedge in Black Patent). Add a glamorous necklace like Rachel’s silver twisted choker (try Michele Michele’s classy Hematite Opera Necklace in Silver) and you’ll be dressed to solve any mysteries that come your way. This is the first time we’ve seen Rachel on the set, while Robert Downey Jr. has been spotted wandering around London in his costume quite a few times. Rachel is said to be enjoying filming her latest project, telling the press how much she loves her character’s relationship with Sherlock: “It's a really fun relationship. He says very little about her to Watson. But what we can gather is that they really get under each other's skin. They kind of challenge one another but at the same time, they have this really deep affection. Sometimes they're very romantic, but it's very complicated.” Sounds like it! Are you a fan of the classic supersleuth novels?
Rachel McAdams seen on Nov 13 2008 in Los Angeles, CA. Though she does her best to stay out of the public eye, Rachel McAdams couldn’t escape the photogs after arriving at LAX on Nov 13. Nothing welcomes you back to LA like the ever-present paps! Even after what I presume to be a long flight, and a long vacation – given the size of her suitcase, which she pushed herself, I might add – Rach looks as composed as ever in her comfy flight ‘fit. Starting with a comfy guitar tee (like Love Couture’s Madonna Fitted Burnout Crew Neck Top in White) and casual jeans (such as Hudson’s Signature Bootcut in Tahoe), Rachel added an edgy black leather vest (try Gold Hawk’s Ribbed Motorcycle Jacket in Black) with a vibrant poppy pinned on the collar to celebrate Canadian Remembrance Day, tucking her tresses under an incognito black cap. I love the balance between Rach’s rocker vibe and her dainty gold necklace (see Christie Martin’s Coral Branch Necklace in Gold), slender gold cuff (like Rachel Leigh’s Twisted Bangle in Jet) and tan braided tote (check out Rough Roses’ Jewel Hobo in Tan) – what do you think of the casual look, does it work for her? I think she looks pretty good considering the circumstances, especially after reportedly calling it quits once again with The Notebook sweetheart Ryan Gosling. A “friend” of the couple has been telling the press his version of the break-up: “Rachel is too controlling. They broke up the first time because of their busy schedules--and that's the problem again.” Hmmm, I have a feeling Rachel might have a different story to tell!
Rachel McAdams seen on Oct 01 2008 in London, England. Mystery lovers, get excited – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s infamous Sherlock Holmes will be transitioned to the silver screen sometime next year. Canuck cutie Rachel McAdams just signed on to the project, attending a press conference in London on Oct 1 to announce the new flick, set to be directed by Guy Ritchie. Rach will star opposite Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock’s love interest from the novel A Scandal in Bohemia, with dreamy Jude Law portraying Holmes’ right-hand man, Dr. Watson. At the press gala, Rachel wore a lacy white strapless dress (for similar picks in a variety of fabrics, try Black Halo’s Strapless Bustier Dress in White, Sine’s Marilyn Dress in White or Gold Hawk’s Floral Eyelet Dress in White) with an elegant braided ‘do while teetering on sky-high beige pumps as she posed with her new co-stars and director. It’s been over a month since Rachel’s very public displays of affection with rekindled lover Ryan Gosling, and her appearances at recent press events sans bf have people talking. Especially when she was recently seen getting hot and heavy in Toronto again… hey, that’s not Ryan! Rachel was snapped doing some last minute re-shoots with her co-star Eric Bana for the film adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife, which should be out in theaters in December. If you haven’t read the best-selling book, don’t worry – Rachel recently told the press it’s not essential. “You have to go see the film with a very open mind that it will be different from the book, because you’re talking 400-some-odd plus pages, and squishing it down into 90 minutes.” The Wedding Crashers star went on to add that she’s a huge fan of the “amazing” book, but the movie centers on the love story at it’s core. Have any of you had a chance to check it out?
Rachel McAdams seen on Sep 23 2008 in Los Angeles, CA. Doing her best not to draw attention to herself – and in the process getting noticed by everyone from fans to security guards – Canuck Rachel McAdams returned to her other home in the states via LAX’s International Terminal on Sept 23, bundled up and incognito with her face and hair covered. Despite her best efforts to disguise her identity, Rachel still stopped to sign a few autographs for fans, revealing her genuine down-to-earth nature. For her flight, Rach wore a loose gray minidress (like Qi’s Tea Time Dress in Granite) with a comfy white sweatshirt, tied together with a simple white scarf (combine the two with Ecoganik’s fluffy Fleece Scarf Coat in Winter White) and adorable slouchy black boots with feminine bows on the sides. To completely emulate the undercover look, add a big black cap (try Rails’ Fidel Hat in Black) and a pair of super dark shades (doesn’t get any better than JeeVice’s Egoist in Black). On Friday, Rachel’s latest film The Lucky Ones hit theaters, with super critic Roger Ebert giving a nod to the star for her stellar performance. Ebert said, “…she is feisty, vulnerable, plucky, warm, funny. This is her coming of age as an actress. She provides yet another lesson that you can't judge acting ability until you see an actor given a chance to really stretch.” I wasn’t particularly interested in seeing her latest flick, but after such a compliment from the godfather of movie critics, I’m tempted to make my way down to the box office this weekend… will any of you be doing the same?
Rachel McAdams seen on Sep 10 2008 in Toronto, Canada. Rachel McAdams has been laying low since her very public reunion with fellow Notebook star Ryan Gosling, but when she hit the red carpet in this stunning dress I don’t think anyone in the crowd could take their eyes off her. Rachel attended the premiere of her latest film, The Lucky Ones, at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept 10, although her beau was not in attendance. Wearing a gorgeous maxi dress with a plunging neckline (try the similar cut of Tricia Fix’s Angelina Long Dress in Border or Kelly Cushing’s Butterfly Print Silk Dress in Blue) and matching gold heels, Rachel swept her chestnut brown curls up and kept her accessories minimal, carrying a simple gold clutch (like Julie K’s Sasha Clutch in Toffee) and wearing classic diamond studs. I don’t know about you but I absolutely love this look – she looks radiant without looking overdone, which always happens on the red carpet! Rachel has been hard at work over the past few months, promoting her role alongside Tim Robbins and Michael Peña in The Lucky Ones, starring Rachel as a wounded soldier returning from Iraq after her boyfriend is killed. Sounds like quite a gritty role for the Mean Girls star, but rumor has it Rachel gives a great performance. After the premiere, Rachel went to sushi eatery Blowfish with co-star Tim Robbins to toast their success, later joined by Ethan Hawke - quite a dinner date for Ms. McAdams! Not slowing down at all, Rachel has been filming two new projects over the past few months, the much anticipated adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife and State of Play. With all that hard work, you have to wonder how she found time to cuddle on the streets of Toronto with her newly rekindled lover a few weeks ago!
Rachel McAdams seen on Sep 09 2008 in Toronto, Canada. Canadian cutie Rachel McAdams debuted an adorable new ‘do at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept 9. Rachel stepped out on the red carpet to see Steven Soderbergh’s latest work, Che (Part 1), the beginning of a four hour guerrilla epic starring Benicio Del Toro as Che Guevara. Rachel’s ‘fit had plenty of 20’s flair as she rocked a black and white lace mini dress (try LaROK’s Shabbona Zip Dress in Jet) with lace-up booties, a chic lariat necklace (like Jessica Elliot’s Ornate Pendant on Link Lariat in Silver), and a square lacquered clutch (like Lesa Wallace’s Metallic Leather Mark Clutch in Bronze). Rachel is one of those amazing actresses who can pull off any shade of tresses, but so far this new flipped ‘do is my favorite, especially the bangs! Thoughts? Besides attending the premiere of Che, Rachel is attending the film festival in her hometown for the premiere of her latest flick, The Lucky Ones, set to premiere Sept 10. Rachel plays an uncouth, unpredictable wounded soldier returning from Iraq, in a performance that has even her co-star Tim Robbins talking. When asked what makes her acting so stellar, Robbins told the press, "Well, I'm not sure exactly about that. But I think she's got a warmth to her so that people are drawn to her. And I think the character itself was richly drawn and had all these weird dichotomies. She is kind of a fundamentalist Christian who also has libertine instincts." Come again? With a statement like that, I’m definitely intrigued to check out Rachel’s performance when the film hits theaters on Sept 26.
Rachel McAdams seen on Aug 21 2008 in Toronto, Canada. It’s official, fans of The Notebook - Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling have rekindled their love! A few weeks ago rumors started circulating when Rachel came out of hiding to see Ryan’s DJ debut at Green Door… and there must have been something spinning besides jazz tunes that night, because the duo announced last week they’re back together! The obviously smitten couple spent the day together in Toronto on August 21, looking every bit in love as they grabbed coffee, held hands, and smooched while making their way around town. At one point they even fed each other pastries while Rachel sat in Ryan’s lap – ok, getting a little too mushy for me. Both sported very casual ensembles, and I like Rach’s look but she definitely has room for improvement. Bringing back the loose white button down trend (to spruce up the look, try Woo’s Button Up Blouse in Sand Dune), Rachel tucked her blouse into generic baggy jeans (I think wide legs like Hudson’s Deluxe Wide Leg Jean in Sky would have been much more tasteful). Rachel pulled her look together with a white belt (like Bill Adler’s Fruit and Veggies Belt in White) and simple white flats (again, a wedge heel like Matiko’s Tahira Wedge in Black would have looked much more appropriate with the loose fitting jeans!). Rachel kept her mane under control with a patterned headband and wore black square sunnies to shield her peepers from much coveted Canadian sunshine. No matter how hard they tried, no amount of shaded protection could shield the obvious happiness between these two lovebirds! After their shocking split last year, Ryan told GQ in an interview, “God bless ‘The Notebook.’ It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.” More romantic than The Notebook? If these PDA photos can attest to that, I can’t wait to see what love lesson RR reveal next!
Rachel McAdams seen on Jul 29 2008 in Los Angeles, CA. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen her, but Canuck starlet Rachel McAdams let loose on Tuesday night at Hollywood hotspot Green Door, enjoying jazzy tunes from the 40’s and 50’s spun by a guest DJ – none other than her ex Ryan Gosling. Yes, that’s correct, The Notebook stars reunited more than a year after their secret split, much to the shock and delight of onlookers. When meeting up with an ex, it’s essential to look your best, and I think Rachel pulled it off effortlessly, wearing sexy strappy heels with a cute loose fitting blue dress (like For Love and Liberty’s Triumph Deep V Neck Dress in Denim Blue), flashy silver earrings (similar to Michele Michel’s Rococco Earrings in Silver), and carrying a grey wrap jacket (like Elizabeth Gillett’s Brandi Sweater in Mushroom) with a petite silver clutch (check out Carla Mancini’s Clutch with Cut in Handles in Platino). The cute brunette bob didn't hurt either, but what do you think, is Rachel better as a blonde or brunette? Back to RR's reunion, a witness told the press, "They talked when he was away from the deejay stand. They really looked like good pals. He seemed happy to see her." And that’s not all – the paps snapped the duo sneaking out of the club together at the end of Gosling’s set! Let’s not jump to conclusions, there’s no reason to suspect the lovebirds are back together just because they had what looked to be a happy reunion inside a club… and snuck off down a dark alley together in the early morning hours… presumably to grab a drink somewhere after Ryan’s hard night of work. Speaking of hard work, Rachel has been out of the public eye for quite some time now, busy filming The Time Traveler’s Wife among her other projects. Rachel’s latest flick, Married Life, has gotten mixed reviews, despite starring Pierce Brosnan and Patricia Clarkson alongside the Wedding Crashers cutie. Maybe hooking up with her ex will put her back in the media spotlight?
Rachel McAdams seen on Mar 05 2008 in New York, NY. Rachel McAdams was spotted Wednesday, March 5 in New York City, having been in hiding for quite a while. McAdams showed up to the premiere of her latest movie in a contemporary black glam look. Rachel began her outfit with a pair of black strapped shoes (check out Matiko Footwear's Abba in Black ) and wore a black button down dress on top (similar to Walter's Washed Silk Shirtdress in Charcoal and Ziji's Asymetric Bib Dress in Black) making sure to show off her neckline. McAdams finished her look by accessorizing with a pair of silver studded earrings. Rarely seen on the red carpet, McAdams was in town to support the launch of her new movie "Married Life." Rachel made sure to glam it up while in New York City, sporting a slicked back do and bun. Opening this Friday, March 7, it is expected this film will follow the success of McAdams past hits "Mean Girls" and "The Notebook." Director Ira Sachs says of "Married Life," "It's the story of a middle-aged man who is married, and who falls in love with another woman, but he's such a gentle figure, so he decides that to divorce his wife would humiliate her too much, so it's better to kill her." What will I be doing Friday? Hitting up the movie on its opening night for sure! What about you, will you check out the new McAdams flick or make your way to "10,000 BC", which also hits screens this Friday?
Rachel McAdams seen on Jun 29 2007 in Las Vegas, NV. Talented beauty Rachel McAdams was on hand for her first public appearance since January at the wrap party for her new project "The Return", at Asia Nightclub in Las Vegas on June 29. Looking gorgeous in a vibrant blue dress (Castle Starr's Silk Taffeta Dress and Zoa's Summer Halter Dress are similar to Rachel's) and matching necklace, Rachel definitely seemed to be enjoying herself. While fans of Rachel are dying for her to release a new movie, it seems like finally, their wait is almost over. Reuters says that "The Return" (fitting title) is "a bittersweet drama about three injured soldiers who come home from Iraq and learn that life has moved on without them." This low-budget independent film is quite different from Rachel's other projects (most recently, "The Family Stone", "Wedding Crashers" and "The Notebook"), but that's part of why Rachel is such a talented actress- her range!
