RACH IN A STATE OF PLAY

Out on the promo circuit, Rachel McAdams arrived in NYC on April 15 to stop by The Today Show. Not letting the rain get her down, Rach arrived when it was still dark out in a fun red and black striped skirt and classic black tights. Tucking in a white tank, Rach wore a chic black blazer (try William Rast's sassy Outerwear Black Jacket in Black) topped off with a cozy grey coat (William Rast's Outerwear in Military Green) and simple hoop earrings (Michele Michel's moderately priced Swarovski Hoops in Silver are a great pick). Love the flirty bangs and curled locks (watch the Today Show clip to get a better view), and of course the red soled Loub booties add a nice touch. Overall I'm loving this look - what do you readers think of Rachel's style choices? Rach is in NY this week promoting State of Play, her new thriller that is out in theaters today. In the movie, Rach plays a hot young online journalist (aka blogger) turned political reporter after she gets wind of a scandal involving the murder of a congressman's mistress. The thriller has plenty of twists and turns and stars Rachel alongside Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman and Helen Mirren. The entire cast has gotten great reviews for their edgy rendition of the BBC 2003 miniseries that inspired the flick, but Rachel confessed playing a blogger was a bit of a stretch for her - she had a lot of catching up to do! Rach tells: “I am not a tweeter. I’ve been completely educated about this today. I heard about Twitter for the first time, and it’s all I’ve heard about ever since. I’m really ignorant. I don’t subscribe to newspapers. I really do listen to the radio. I listen to CBC, NPR and I find it’s something you can multi-task to. You know, eat your breakfast, and drive, and get your news at the same time.” Rach downplayed herself a little bit - she writes (well, maybe she doesn't really write, but her name appears) on the eco-blog greenissexy.org.
