PREPPY IN PLAID

Our fave indie girl, Natalie Portman spent her Sunday out shopping with a friend in Malibu on August 10. NatNat browsed the racks in a preppy plaid jumper (like Plenty by Tracy Reese’s Half Circle Slip in Cayenne Plaid) paired with simple flipflops (try Matiko’s Juju Sandal in Black to pair with the above frock), a natural toned tote (check out Rough Roses’ Whitney Tote in Grey), and edgy metal rimmed sunnies (JeeVice’s Sexy in Brown Fade have a similar funky shape). Though she’s shielding her face, NP can’t shield her happiness that her first short film, Eve will debut at the Venice Film Festival on Sept 1. NatNat has also had her eye on the upcoming remake of the 1977 horror flick Suspiria, in which she would star as a ballet dancer who ends up attending the dance school from hell. Rumor has it the Garden State star is also interested in producing the remake of the cult classic, set to be directed by Pineapple Express mastermind David Gordon Green. I guess whether or not she produces will depend on how well her flick does in Venice. What do you think, can you picture Natalie as a bloody ballerina?
