Debuting her edgy new 'do, Ashlee Simpson heads out on a date with hubby Pete Wentz on October 18 in Los Angeles. The two headed to the Harmony Gold Preview House for the premiere of Kanye West's short film Runaway, which stars model Selita Ebanks alongside the hip-hop mogul. Ash got all dolled up for the event, showing off her spiky new pixie cut with a high neck black sweater (try Suzabelle's Glenmorris Sweater in Raven) with a printed pencil skirt (slip into a slimming pencil skirt like Rachel Pally's Gathered Skirt in Black) and classic black Mary Jane heels (I'm trading my plain pumps in for heels with a vintage twist like Farylrobin's Beth Ankle Boot in Black). A Chanel crystal encrusted brooch and a petite handbag with old fashioned butterflies complete her look (love the intricate detail on Moyna Handbag's Embroidered Floral Clutch in Brown). What do you think of Ashlee's look, including the new tresses? We know Pete's feeling the look – he Tweeted a photo of Ash with son Bronx with the caption: "Cute hair mama!" After the premiere Ashlee was doing a bit of her own Tweeting, sharing her thoughts on the film: “The @kanyewest movie was stunning last night. I love seeing a true artist with compassion. It’s refreshing to see such a real artist.” A real artist – Kanye? I'll have to see it to believe it! Did any of you happen to catch the special MTV showing of the flick over the weekend?

I'm sorry.. but did you honestly just put a question mark after Kanye's name as to whether or not he is an artist??? Seriously?!? He may not be likeable or the most respectful person, but denying the fact that he is talented and an artist is just crazy.
