"Answering the call" for her husband's upcoming charity concert, Beyonce Knowles attended the Madison Square Garden press conf with Jay-Z and Governor David Patterson on August 31 in New York City. Judging from her style it appears B is the latest celeb fashionista to turn to 3.1 Phillip Lim, opting for a zipper ruffled skirt from the Spring 2009 runway. For the mid-morning event Beyonce paired the unique skirt (make it work for everyday with Amberlynn's Zipper Skirt in Black) with a sheer black tank (like Splendid's basic U Neck Tank in Black) and a wide black and gold belt at the waist (check out Motif 56's cool studded Piper Belt in Black). A long pendant necklace (just like Castaway's Batik Style Bone Pendant Necklace in Gold), sheer black stockings and a black patent doctor's bag (love the similar shape and opulent gold accents of CC Skye's Taylor Bag in Black) complete B's 'fit. What do you think of her look? I'm transfixed with the skirt but either it or the belt is too tight – see how it cuts into her tummy in the photo on the left? I'm not one for body bashing but clothes that fit are a must, B! Despite her sometimes questionable fashion picks, Billboard has created a new "Woman of the Year" award and named Beyonce its first recipient, according to the mag's editorial director: “Beyonce is multi-platinum artist and a multi-talented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman Of The Year Award was created to honor. She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, business savvy and dedication to charitable causes.” Careful Billboard, you keep filling her head with that praise and it won't fit into her pretty little fedora!
