The elusive Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted leaving the Soho House Hotel in the Meat Packing District of NYC on January 30 with twin sis Ashley, reportedly coming together for a business meeting, but going their own separate ways afterwards. To keep warm, MK paired a long black coat (like Raw 7's Cashmere Peacoat in Black) over another long black sweater (similar to Gold Hawk's Long Chunky Cable Jacket in Black) and slipped into black skinnies (check out Hudson Jeans' Alex 5 Pocket Skinny Jean in Black) and black leather motorcycle boots. Not wanting to stick solely to black, MK added a pop of subdued color with her royal blue circular sunglasses and her grey-blue patterned scarf (take a look at A Graves' Paisley Scarf in Grey). Always one to pay attention to details, MK's finishing touches of cherry red nails, two large rings, and a gold studded leather handbag (Rough Roses' Pamila Hobo in Black is a similar option) really take her outfit to the next level. Even when leaving a business meeting, her outfits are always marvelous! While most of you know that the Olsen twins do have somewhat of a penchant for donning the most elaborate fur coats, they have long been numero uno on PETA's enemy list. It seems that in addition to nicknaming Mary-Kate and Ashley the "Trollsens," an animal activist has now stooped to vandalism to get their point across. The twins' star on Hollywood Blvd. has been scrawled with the words "Fur Hags," a not-so-subtle nickname that PETA has also taken to calling them. Oh, PETA - when will you learn that breaking the law with vandalism is not the way to go? What do you think, CoutureCandy readers... has PETA gone one step too far in the extreme ways they get their point of view across?

come on PETA. there are a lot of non-celebrity people who wears fur. olsens being attack just because they're famous. it's getting old, PETA.guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 05:34 AM

I don't give a sh** about some creepy animals..what I do care about are people...I think the PETA folks need to get a life and find something better to do then be celeb stalkers!!guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 06:16 AM

I do give a sh** about animals, and I think fur coats are terrible!! but I also think that this is no way to goguest on Feb 02 2009 @ 09:30 AM

i am a vegetarian and i have many fur coats .. fur is iconic and gorgeous reminiscent of penny lane and edie sedgwick and one day we will be talking about how the olsens also made it iconic they have the best taste and style out there everything they wear is original and always interesting and intriguing majority of celebs dont know what the hell they're doing and they all look plain or trashy .. peta takes things too far stopping violence with violence will never workguest on Feb 02 2009 @ 10:08 AM

Vandilism isn't right, but either is fur. PETA shouldn't fight fire with fire, they need to educate people on what they are really wearing. I would never stoop to wearing a dead creature on my shoulders no matter how much you paid me.guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 01:06 PM

You're not vegetarian if you wear fur, darling. You're what some would call ignorant, and a hypoctite.guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 01:09 PM

People can wear whatever the he** they choose...when people start wearing people, that is when I'll get upset, in the interim...I'll wear my mink all the day LONG!!!guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 01:28 PM

Calling people ignorant because of what they wear is ignorant on your part...people have been killed and died for inane reasons in the country, think I give a sh** about some animals!!guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 01:30 PM

Fur is fine if it is responsibly harvested. If you are going to eat a rabbit it is a waste not to use the fur, etc. I trust fur production in the USA. MAKE SURE NOT TO BUY FURS from China! DO NOT BUY LETHER GOODS FROM CHINA! That is the video on the PETA site where they skin the animals alive and throw there bodies into a pile to die.guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 01:46 PM

you can be a vegetarian and wear fur some people are a vegetarian for other reasons than cruelty i just think it tastes badguest on Feb 02 2009 @ 02:18 PM

She definitely has her own style... but as to whether it is good?? I think she dresses like someone with a mental disorder.guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 02:29 PM

No I am not ignorant. I do my research. People can take care of themselves. Animals are defenseless. It is a sad, sad thing a human would take advantage of that.guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 02:40 PM

Totally agree with the statement that PETA goes about spreading their message the TOTALLY wrong way - they just come off as crazy extremists instead of educating people with their point of view... im always so torn on the fur debate!! :?guest on Feb 02 2009 @ 03:15 PM

to 1h46pm:
are you serious? the source of our caps lock preaching is a video on the PETA website? wow well then i'm sure no cruelty is ever issued from the USA, since somebody with no basic spelling skills is screaming it on top of their lungs on a gossip website

Fabulous as always. Peta needs to fuck off. Those assholes need to get real jobs and stop harassing people.guest on Feb 03 2009 @ 04:33 AM

There really is no need to wear fur, there are plenty of alternatives to fur for warmth. I don't believe in splashing fur coats with paint either. I think it is a personal choice, I have NEVER agreed with fur wearing, especially those who wear fur because they think it is a status symbol! And Yes, I am vegan, but is only for MY conscience. ~Sguest on Feb 03 2009 @ 02:54 PM

okay people dont wear fur for a status symbol i guess unless they're like 90 years old.... the olsens certainly dont wear it as a status symbol everyone know there practically billionaires that just doesnt make sense.. majority of people who wear it wear it because it is iconic and looks amazing it can turn a boring totally around, so theres really no need to overanalyze those who wear fur they just like it i am just so sick of judgmental bitches.. and all those that diss the way they dress, excluding the fur factor they obviously just dont get or have respect for groundbreaking style they need to just go back to the mall and not even bother commenting, and just continue to worship that nasty trainwreck lauren conradguest on Feb 03 2009 @ 06:24 PM

Who said anything about Lauren Conrad? The Olsens have great style. But fur is gross. Wearing a dead animal is just as bad as eating a decaying carcass. Both are wrong and disgusting. Alternatives look great and noone dies for it. Do a little research on it instead of calling people names. You're so juvenile.guest on Feb 04 2009 @ 03:37 PM

ooh i guess we have a lauren conrad-fan on our hands.. how juvinile!guest on Feb 04 2009 @ 05:05 PM

people are sooo judgmental no matter what you do your not gonna convince people either way i am vegan and PERSONALLY i dont wear fur but the i realize the world is full of so many people from a variety of backgrounds.. i love the olsens they look amazing fur or none and i have to be honest and say i definitely see the appeal 3:37 is right it is iconic and it can certainly make an outfitguest on Feb 04 2009 @ 05:30 PM

seriously , no one supports PETA so how do they still have these bizarre , extreme followers ? I mean , why do they even try anymore when they are deffinately not going anywhere ? I love fur . It's fabulous . I do feel horrible about the animals but then again , if they are going to kill the animals for the meat anyways ...guest on Feb 05 2009 @ 09:17 PM

wait , is she even wearing fur right now ?guest on Feb 05 2009 @ 09:18 PM
