PAYING TRIBUTE TO DAD

Getting her Friday morning off to a java jolted start, Cameron Diaz was spotted picking up her fix and a treat to go at her local Starbucks on Oct 3 in Los Angeles. Besides the caffeine boost, Cam also picked up some easy reading for the road – one of Starbuck’s new “GOOD” pamphlets breaking down the most pressing political issues into a series of graphic charts on the eve of the election. Have any of you seen these new freebies on your recent java trips? The socially conscious GOOD Magazine is responsible for putting them together and the ones I’ve checked out so far have been positively mind opening – guess Cam was intrigued as well! For her TGIF ‘fit, Cam wore super skinny indigo jeans (check out Hudson’s Stella Skinny in Brilliant) with a simple white cami (like Love Couture’s Unchain My Heart Empire Waist Cami in Eggshell) and battled LA’s overcast skies in a comfy grey sweater (similar to Holly’s Pocket Knit Sweater in Grey). Looking especially preppy, Cam wore her tan and black tipped flats again with her white buckled tote (check out Posse New York’s oversized version, the Carolina Bag in White Pearl) and of course a pair of square black sunnies (like Nour’s Baba in Oro Bianco). With that messy bun and tight lipped look on her face, I almost didn’t recognize her! Earlier this week, Cam paid homage to her late father at a special screening of her epic flick There’s Something About Mary at the AFI Night At The Movies event in Hollywood. Cam got to introduce the movie that made her infamous (hair gel?), and announced her daddy’s cameo to the crowd: “My father just passed away recently. He's the dude when Ben Stiller is leaving the jail and all the guys run afterwards – my dad has the long black-silver hair down to here who's hamming it up in the front.” Be sure to give him a nod next time you’re in the mood for a good laugh!
