Rules are made to be broken, and Parameter Creative Director, Maytal Sharifi, wouldn’t have it any other way. The Collection works a come-hither attitude, one that often veers toward vintage with a touch of Parisian chic. For Spring 2007 the playful Parameter Collection is tempered with avant garde silhouettes and a dazzling array of handcrafted details. The collection is inspired by Aristocracy – the nonchalance of an European heiress with the “look at me” cool of a celluloid princess. Playing rigor against restraint, the elegance of the collection is a series of contradictions: bright colorful prints understated with restrained neutrals, luxurious embroidery, and delicate details. Feminine, diaphanous and sheer blouses are paired with masculine cinched-waist, tailored pants, cuffed shorts, and structured blazers. The soft white goddess dresses are offset with a edgy red and black prints and trim – for instant It Girl Status. Parameter translates the whimsical theme with a palette of colors such as Navy, Kelly, Ultra-Violet, and Coral along with key neutrals - Cream, Nude, and Whiter than Whites. Vintage details that run throughout the collection are delicate lace trims, western gingham edged with black ribbon, and sheer, subtle prints of florals, love birds, and polka dots. The collection is dominated by beautifully fluid separates, sexy little dresses and new-volume peasant blouses.
