In good spirits despite the frigid temps, Ashlee Simpson Wentz braves a chilly New Year's Eve in New York City on December 31. Ash was spotted heading out of her apartment solo, on her way to a Broadway performance of Chicago, which she has been starring in as the audacious Roxie Hart. Ashlee has been keeping fans posted on her Big Apple adventures via Twitter, telling fans: "Holiday show's have been awesome. Ps the cast is insane amazing everyday I'm learning something new and feelin the love… Such a fun gig!" and "Got to say being apart of this show and with such an amazing cast is just AWESOME! It's such a fun show to be apart of and such a family!!" So great that the Broadway run is working out for Ms. Simpson-Wentz! Channeling her character's roaring 20's style, Ashlee topped her raven black tresses with a bowler hat decorated with a silver ribbon and a simple, chic black overcoat (try LaROK's Marlena Coat in Black). Bringing the look up to speed with the new decade, Ashlee paired a colorful striped sweater (like Ella Moss' Skye Widesleeve Top in Amour), super tight skinnies (check out Joe's Jeans' Leggings in Rinse) and black lace up boots (I'm fond of Farylrobin's Ulysses Motorcycle Boot in Black) with her classic cold weather items. What do you think of Ashlee's vintage meets mod style? While Ashlee spent New Year's Eve in NYC following her Chicago performance, rocker hubbie Pete Wentz was a few thousand miles away hosting an event at Jet nightclub at the Mirage in Sin City. Uh oh, I smell trouble for Pete! Wonder who Ash kissed at midnight?

I like that coat, but it doesn't look like it quite fits. Her makeup though ... in daylight is atrocious.guest on Jan 05 2010 @ 12:23 PM
