Stepping out for the amfAR New York City Gala to celebrate the beginning of Fall 2011 Fashion Week at Cipriani Wall Street on February 9, Blake Lively smiled (and pouted) as she posed in a stunning Alexander McQueen maxi dress. While I love that Blake is mixing things up and not wearing something tight and super-sexy, I will say that this dress is simply too tight on her bust. It's like her left boob is trying to escape! For two similar, stunning maxi dress options here on CoutureCandy, check out Meghan Los Angeles' Lola Dress in Magenta or Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent's Strapless Long Dress in Pansy. In addition to Blake's McQueen frock, she added on dazzling Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a decorative belt (walk on the wild side with Nyovee's 4-Way Snake/Black Belt) to define her waist. If you're inspired by BL's wrist full of beautiful bangles, be sure to check out Amrita Singh's Safari Bangle Set in Gold/Brown. For those of you who are fans of Blake's, you might have heard that she's in talks to portray Carrie Bradshaw, the character that Sarah Jessica Parker made famous on "Sex and the City," in the movie prequel to SATC. However, I wouldn't get your hopes up - Blake's rep says this isn't true! According to E! Online, "Candace Bushnell has penned a second (yes, second) prequel to Sex and the City—this one titled Summer in the City, which follows Carrie Bradshaw as she moves, at 19, from Connecticut to New York—and producer extraordinaire Michael Patrick King is itching to redeem himself for the hot mess that was SATC 2 by bringing a younger, more inexperienced Carrie back to the big screen." After this announcement, rumors swirled that Blake was the only girl for the job, yet her rep has said: "This is totally false. She isn't involved on this project." Would you like to see Blake portray a younger Carrie Bradshaw, readers - or if you had your dream pick, who would you cast for the role?

Whoa, she literally goes "over the top" in this dress. The print is garish and doesn't flatter (ahem). She looks best in dresses that show off her small waist and long gorgeous legs... imo.guest on Feb 11 2011 @ 07:20 PM
Oh, and who should play a young Carrie Bradshaw? I think Emma Roberts has what it takes, the youth, the right mix of ambition and insecurity, the personality...
What do you think?guest on Feb 11 2011 @ 07:22 PM
