Jessica Simpson prepares for warmer weather as she leaves her NYC hotel on April 13 to catch a flight back to Los Angeles with mama Tina. Jess stepped out in a flirty printed mini (Boulee has a great selection of colorful summer minis, like the Olsen Tented Dress in Yellow Print or the Ruffled Dress in Dainty Print) topped with an oversized chambray denim shirt and a fabulous white handbag on her arm (for a similar look try Rough Roses' Jewel Shoulder Bag with Braided Strap in Cream or Julie K's Robin in Vanilla). As usual Jess boosted her height with a towering pair of wooden heels (I like the shape of Farylrobin's new Imogen in Brown) and added a basic pair of hoops (add a touch of texture with Jules Smith's Drop It Hoops in Gunmetal) to complete the look. What do you think of Jess's spring style, would you layer an open button down as a jacket like she did? At a Good Housekeeping event the night before, justjared.com asked Jess how she tackles chores around the house, to which she joked: “Laundry is definitely not a part of it! Don’t like laundry." I'm having flashbacks of Nick Lachey yelling at Jess to clean up her heaping piles of dirty laundry on Newlyweds! Jess redeemed herself a little as she continued: "What am I good at? I love cooking! I don’t clean up after myself - that’s what men should do! But I am good at cooking, I provide, I nurture.” Coming from the girl who was confused about whether "Chicken of the Sea" is tuna or poultry, I have some doubts about that one!
