Looking unusually disheveled, the normally well-kempt Kate Hudson arrives at the 17th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 18. At the event, Kate hung out with her mama Goldie Hawn, who was there to support her recognition this year. Kate canoodled at her table with her new boyfriend, Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy, whom she was spotted flying out to NYC with over the weekend. Kate and Matt even took Ryder for a scooter stroll on Saturday – things must really be getting serious! At this point we have to assume Kate is so in love with her new man, she's fired her hair and makeup artists as it doesn't look like she had any help on this occasion. Kate arrived in a curve enhancing Prabal Gurung asymmetrical dress with an embellished shoulder piece (simplify the look with Carter's Love Me or Leave Me Dress in Black or Carter's Beaded Shoulder Kitten Dress in Black) paired with demure patent pumps (try Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Black Crocco). The tea length hem cuts her legs off, and I'm not loving the folds across the bust and hip – too much going on with the paillettes on the shoulder. What are your thoughts on the frock? Kate completed the look with a pretty pair of black hoop earrings (love Alanna Bess' Black Garnet Earring in Gold), which would have looked lovely if she'd done something about her hair. I'm honestly perplexed as to what she was thinking here – Kate normally nails it at events like this! To her defense, it was drizzling outside, but unless she arrived in a convertible, there's no way her hair and face could have gotten that wet. Thoughts, anyone? As an explanation for this look, I have to pull a quote from an interview Kate gave a few months ago: "Do I mind having my appearance constantly scrutinized? [Laughs] I don't have enough time on this planet to worry about things like that. I'm more concerned with if I'm raising my son properly, with what makes my family happy, with what makes me happy." So there you have it!
