Getting back to business, Rachel McAdams cools off in a flirty summer 'fit while heading out of her NYC hotel on June 29. The Canadian starlet is enjoying a month off working in between filming Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and will be heading back to the set for The Vow in August, giving her a blissful four weeks to take in the sun – and just in time for the 4th of July! It's been hot and muggy in NYC, but Rachel didn't let the heat bring her down as she headed out in a fun printed skirt (love Walter's Patchwork Striped Skirt in Gold or Free People's quirky Multi Color Skirt in Multi) with a black scoop neck tee tucked in (like Tt Collection's Jeanne in Black) and straw platform sandals adding a little height (check out Farylrobin's Imogen in Brown). Rach toted a casual baby blue Miu Miu bag (love the simple strap detail of Rough Roses' Jewel Shoulder Bag with Braided Strap in Cream) and carried a big floppy straw hat with a light overcoat – maybe her traveling disguise? As a final touch Rachel wore a cute pendant necklace with an asymmetrical bow (love the vintage inspired look of Archive's Bonaparte in Brass/Black). What do you think of Rach's summertime style, hot or not? I'm definitely loving her hair color right now, the blondish-red shade and casually curled waves are perfect for the hot summer months. I'm also partial to the printed mini look – I wore a similar skirt to a BBQ over the weekend! At first I thought I didn't like the lighter shade of the bag with such a dark top, but I think she's got the right balance here. Thoughts? Rachel has been in quite a few hit movies over the past few years, but my favorite has always been her coming out as the evil Regina in Mean Girls alongside pre-rehab Lindsay Lohan. Now there are talks of the Plastics taking the screen again in two spin-off sequels, Mean Girls 2 and Mean Moms. Considering how hilarious MG was the first time around I have high hopes for more, but sources say neither project is going to include the original cast, or even Tina Fey as a writer. Maybe it has something to do with LiLo being unavailable to return to work these days? Who knows, but I have a hard time imagining the Plastics without Regina as their leader. What do you readers think, would you head to the theatre to see another one?
