Trading in her candy colored extensions for a more sophisticated look, Katy Perry arrives at the 2010 American Music Awards with her trademark raven tresses restored in Los Angeles on November 21. In contrast to the red latex jumpsuit Katy donned later in the show to perform "Firework," KP walked the red carpet in a pretty pale pink Badgley Mischka Couture frock (try French Connection's Strapless Sparkle Dress in Rose or Sue Wong's Strapless Feather Dress in Blush to play up your girly side) with taupe Brian Atwood heels (like KORS Michael Kors' Julian Patent Pump in Sand) and pink teardrop earrings glistening (check out Robyn Rhodes' Brianna Earring in Teal Jade). While KP didn’t win any of the awards she was up for at the AMAs this year - Artist of the Year, Favorite Album (Pop or Rock), and Favorite Female Artist (Pop or Rock) – she recently chatted with Harper's Bazaar that she appreciates the differences between her own music style and other female pop stars: "We’re all unique. That’s why we all win and we all can exist. People don’t want just vanilla. They want 31 flavors. I couldn’t do what Rihanna does. I couldn’t do what Gaga does.
