While most stars flock to Cannes for the films, Eva Longoria stepped away from the festivities on May 13 and took a little shopping trip to the Hermes boutique with her bodyguard at her side. Strutting her stuff in a curve hugging Herve Leger bandage dress with ruffle details on the hips and a lace-up inset at the neck (get the sophisticated look with Karen Zambos' Jessica Dress in Metallic or KEEMiA's Sophie Cowl Neck Dress in Silver), Eva paired blue suede YSL's (love the sassy texture of Samanta's Viv Snake Heel in Navy) and her treasured slate blue Birkin bag (Julie K's Olivia in Night puts a new twist on the classic handbag), perfect for a venture to the world renowned – and envied – French design house. Eva carried the same bag while shopping in LA in February, proving just how versatile the iconic style is. As a finishing touch, Eva selected sparkly heart shaped diamond solitaire earrings (love CC Skye's Pave Pyramid Stud Earrings in Silver) for her afternoon venture, popping on a pair of classic aviators to protect her from the blinding Mediterranean sun. Speaking of rumors, Eva unfortunately took a little heat lately after some drama occurred at her Las Vegas restaurant ventures, Beso and Eve nightclub. Ms. Longoria opened both ventures this New Year's after her West Hollywood restaurant became a success, but apparently all has not been smooth sailing after police were spotted at the eatery last week. While the Vegas tabloids had rumors spreading like wildfire that the popular Latin American fusion eatery was raided by the FBI and the DEA, Eva's publicist quickly came forward to dispel the drama: “The biggest misconception in all of this was it was a raid. Eva wants everybody to know there was no raid of any kind. It was simply one of Eva’s lawyers in the company of a private security group. Business was never interrupted, and it didn’t even close for one minute. This has been blown out of proportion. It has been totally sensationalized.” So what really happened? Apparently Eva's two trusted accountants were reviewing the books around tax time and noticed huge financial discrepancies, resulting in two operating partners being ousted from the business – and banned from the property! In light of the economic times most investors haven't been so lucky, so I'm glad Eva has some good number crunchers watching out for her. At least she'll have something to fall back on if Desperate Housewives isn't renewed for another season – still up in the air!
