MOM AND DAD MEET PLAID

After spending the day with the girls, Katie Holmes heads out with Tom Cruise for a casual night on the town in New York City on June 21. Katie was spotted earlier in the day on an outing with both Suri and Tom's daughter Isabella, enjoying the city while Tom wraps promotions for his latest action flick, Knight and Day, out in theaters this week. For their dinner date both halves of TomKat wore casual button downs and denim, with Katie opting for a fitted plaid top (get summer sexy in Arnold Zimberg's Romp in the Hay Plaid in Brown) tucked into high waist flare jeans (work the most flattering fit with Pierce Jeans' Iceland Katherine High Waist Jean in Steel). K upped the Western vibe with a wide belt (like Motif 56's luscious Honey in Chocolate), casual heels (love Farylrobin's Dakota in Cognac) and a tan tote in her hand (carry your summer essentials in Julie K's Lorri Chain in Cognac). While I don't think the plaid is bad, I think we can just write this one off as an unfortunately typical look for Ms. Holmes. It would help if the jeans were just a little more flattering! She's got a pretty messy pony going on too, wonder how she remembered to wear her sunglasses at night but forgot the hairbrush? Oh TomKat, always keeping things interesting! The happy fam spent Father's Day together in NYC the day before, with Tom's kids Isabella and Connor joining them in the festivities. Tom and Katie will be spending the rest of the week in the city after the premiere of Knight and Day, which already has decent reviews a week ahead of the official release. Are any of you looking forward to seeing Tom and Cameron take the big screen together once again?
