Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made an appearance at the Free Arts 12th Annual Art Auction held on May 14 in NYC, opting for head-to-toe black looks as they hosted this special night. Presented by David Yurman and Vanity Fair, the artwork auction raised money for Free Arts NYC programs for children. Such a great cause in my opinion... I think that all children should experience art at an early age and nurture their artistic side. For her event ensemble, MK opted for Givenchy, pairing a sharp shouldered coat (try Tt Collection's Dylan in Black) over a black button-up (check out Boulee's Kim Butterfly Sleeve Top in Black), along with black leggings with leather detail (the lace accents of The Battalion's Edith in Black are pretty). Ashley, on the other hand, chose a vintage Yohji Yamamoto maxi dress (try Shumaq's Maria Dress in Black) that she paired with chunky navy Robert Clergerie sandals and Van Cleef jewelery. Who do you think looks the best on this occasion, readers? My vote is for MK... she is totally rocking those chic pants. For those of you who are big fans of the Olsens' clothing lines, they've recently revealed that the inspiration for the next collection of their Olsenboye line is coming from "London street style." Ashley said: "We're looking to cute little British girls. We're doing London street style next. You pay attention to their style and lifestyle and what they do. I think it's about paying attention to the world, and to culture and what's happening." Very wise, Ash! While it may seem that the twins don't have enough time in the day to fully focus on each of their lines, Ashley says, "You know it's a lot of work. But it's definitely not hard to keep it straight. It's just a matter of finding enough time to be able to devote to each brand, really." Which of their lines do you like the best? I am all about The Row :)
