Sophia Bush has been quite the socialite over the last week, putting her best stiletto forward at a few events around LA and reminding us all just how adorable she is. Besides her irresistible "good girl" charm, my favorite thing about SB's style is her ability to surprise us. She stays out of the public eye and then shines at red carpet events like this, without being too revealing. I love that she takes risks and isn't afraid to show off her curvy figure. And she knows how to flatter those curves, wearing two sexy minis by Max Azria and Herve Leger back-to-back last weekend. At the first event, Sophia picked the black and white bandage dress for the Art of Elysium Genesis celebration on October 10. Rather than pair it with coordinating black pumps, she opted for cabernet suede YSL Trib Two's that complements the look and her tinted pout nicely (if you like the black and white look, opt for Rachel Palley's less constricting Mischa Dress in Black and White). I also think the loose, messy waves play up the contrast of the structured dress. Do you think it works or would you change something? Next, Sophia attended the 2009 Hollywood Style Awards at the Armand Hammer Museum on October 11, this time wearing a custom lace Max Azria dress with ribbon stripes and a dazzling high collar (get the lacy look with Single Dress' Lace Bust Pencil Dress in Black or Walter's Color Block Lace Dress in Black/Turquoise). It reminds me of Britney Spears' infamous D&G lace mini from a few years ago, but I like the updated look – what do you think? Sophia paired both looks with mesh triangle earrings (very similar to Kuo Ting's Pearl with Black Mesh Disco Earrings in Pearl/Black). With all these Maz Azria looks (SB also wore a BCBG Max Azria gown earlier in the week) I was beginning to wonder if Sophia's a new spokesmodel for Max Azria, until I realized she presented the Fashion Visionary Award to Max at the awards show. Always nice to rub elbows with fashion royalty when you're wearing one of their one-of-a-kind designs! Sophia has come off as a sort of "voice of her generation" on the red carpet before, giving honest advice to her young fans. She told press at the Hollywood Style event: “I think particularly with young people in the entertainment industry, the focus has gotten inappropriate. When people can have careers which consist of nothing but going to parties…and they get paid to go to parties because they’ve been less than clothed…it’s not something I can believe in. The ‘I”ll do anything to be famous’ standard doesn’t last… I think smart is sexy because that’s all that lasts.” Couldn't agree more! Do you think outrageous partying a-la Paris and LiLo is on the way out?

beautiful girl, but she is not thin enough to be wearing dresses that tight and short. she carries weight around her stomach and the lace dress does nto flatter at all. just looks too short and trampy. like the fat girl who tries to hard to be sexy. she looks gorgeous in the pic on the right though.guest on Oct 16 2009 @ 05:11 AM
I absolutely love the dress on the left, she wears it perfectlyguest on Oct 16 2009 @ 06:39 AM
5:11 are you crazy?? she is anything but a "fat girl who tries hard to be sexy." maybe look at yourself in the mirror before you bash someone who probably has a better body than youguest on Oct 16 2009 @ 09:34 AM
Listen to her talk - she's the gal who went out for a froyo in lingerie with a jean jacket over it, then took the jacket off for the paps. The lace dress looks trashy and the other dress succeeds only because of the optical illusion with the stripes.guest on Oct 16 2009 @ 09:57 AM
it doesn't look trashy at all; I think she manages to wear it in a very classy way (the long sleeves and the collar help balance the short hem). she looks pretty to meguest on Oct 16 2009 @ 11:07 AM
The first dress looks better. They are unique, but just not the best choices for her figure. She is very fit and beautiful. A slightly looser dress would make her look much slimmer as well. Not loving the black and white so much with her skin toneguest on Oct 16 2009 @ 12:55 PM
Good point on the fro yo thing 9:57... she practically mooned the paparazzi in that outfitguest on Oct 16 2009 @ 05:01 PM
