MEMORABLE AT MOMA

I know that you readers are split between loving and loathing Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen eccentric and often risky sense of style, but there's no denying that the twins make people take notice wherever they go. Appearing at The Museum Of Modern Art’s film benefit 'A Tribute To Tim Burton' on November 17 in NYC, the girls piled on the layers for their unique looks. Let's begin with Ashley: she started with a pair of yellow satin Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps that I adore, in addition to a voluminous patterned maxi dress (try Pink Polka Dot's Blue Feathers Dress in Turquoise for a similar full-length frock) under a black trench coat (similar to Suzabelle's Nicolet Trench Coat in Black). One thing I have to point out to get your feedback on are the pale blue and purple streaks in Ash's wavy blonde locks. What is going on there? Are you a fan of these subtle highlights? I haven't fully made up my mind yet. Mary-Kate, on the other hand, started with an attention-grabbing dark maroon/purple pucker, along with a leopard coat and a long black dress (for a cuter option, try Moschino Cheap & Chic's Silk Leopard Tie Dress). She completed her look with a pair of burgundy velvet heels. One thing that the Olsen girls always bring with them are a selection of killer rings, and the MOMA event was no exception. Check out a selection of funky and unique rings here on CoutureCandy, like Ija Designs' Cuttlefish Ring in Silver, Megan Greene's Ada III Ring in Midnight, or Alanna Bess' Raw Jasper Ring in Gold. Okay, readers - lay it on me, do you love or hate their look here?

I understand that Tim Burton demands quirky style, but this looks like a Tribute to Bag Lady to me. So cliche. I do love Ashley's Manolos, wish we could see MK'sguest on Nov 20 2009 @ 10:47 PM

i respect their own bizarre and unique fashion sense, but mk looks horrendous & ashley looks okay.guest on Nov 21 2009 @ 10:53 AM

Agree with all the bag lady comments...they have been looking very homeless and scrubby lately....guest on Nov 21 2009 @ 03:25 PM
