MAKING A STATEMENT

Showing her passion for fashion, Katy Perry kicks off Paris Fashion Week at the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac runway show in a quirky striped ensemble on March 8, complete with her own "air conditioning" unit. Katy sauntered into the show in a slinky striped long sleeve dress with pinched shoulders (stripe lovers, indulge in Tart's Greta Dress in Navy Stripe or Suzabelle's Altamira Chevron Dress in Sailor Stripe to suit your spring needs) adding a pop of color with cherry red pumps (just like KORS Michael Kors' Julian Patent Pump in Red). Katy took her accessories to the limit with a royal blue wig, holding a folding fan with the witty words "air conditioning" printed across it, white rimmed sunnies and a gold band ring on her wedding finger (add drama with Anna Beck's Gold Plated Studded Band Ring in Gold). I think this is the first time I've noticed Katy wearing her wedding ring in public, although you can't really make out the details. What do you think of Katy's eclectic fashion week ensemble, does it work for her? I don't think the smurf wig is necessary, but I do love the fan so I have to credit her for ingenuity. Katy's style may be quirky, but her husband Russell Brand's is even quirkier, which makes them a great pair. Katy is on the cover of the March issue Elle, dishing about just how things work between the two of them: "Everything clicked really fast. We kind of instantly got past all the surfacey stuff. And ever since then, there hasn’t been a dull moment… We both needed balance, and we give that to each other. It wasn’t about me taming him, which is what everyone always says—it was about timing." I have to admire that insight! Do you think their relationship is built to last?
