MAKING A SPLASH IN NYC

Never shy with color, Katy Perry is a rainbow bright delight after a mini-concert at Splash Bar in New York City on August 27. The California gurl has been in NYC for the past week promoting her new Teenage Dream album, which hit stores on Tuesday. KP was a hit in her curve hugging bandage dress with multi-colored stripes (check out Vava by Joy Han's Melanie Romper in Stripe or Wit's Range Loghts Rope Dress in Neon Stripe to add some rainbow stripes to your closet), playing up the dress with fuchsia bangles (add a little edge to all the sweetness with Antoinette Lee's Studded Chain Bracelet in Fuchsia) and indigo slingbacks (with either of the above casual options try a neutral wedge like Coye Nokes' Grace Wedge Sandal in Cognac). In typical Katy fashion, she topped the look with candy coated nails, electric blue eye shadow and matching streaks in her curls. What are your thoughts on this look, does she nail it? It seems purely appropriate for the setting, as her entrance into the crowd followed a raucous performance at the popular gay hotspot, for which she dressed as a glittering peacock while belting out her latest singles, "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," and "Peacock." It hardly seems possible that Katy is pulling off impromptu performances like this while still managing to plan her wedding with Russell Brand – rumored to be taking place as early as October. KP dished to People magazine about the stress: "Most people have breakdowns just over weddings, and I'm planning mine and my tour. I really have to learn to breathe and delegate." As for the rumors of a plastic wedding gown, she continued: "I'm definitely not going to get married in latex. When I wear latex onstage, I sweat. I could wring out those dresses- and I don't want to do that at my wedding." TMI, Katy!
