Enjoying the plaid craze, Christina Aguilera took a well deserved break from motherhood shared a romantic Sunday date night at Osteria Mozza with her hubby Jordan Bratman in Los Angeles, CA on January 4. Have any of you been partaking in the plaid trend like Christina? I’m not sure if it’s a look I love, but you can’t beat the comfort of flannel! Wearing a long sleeved white tee (Rails’ Kenna Long Sleeve T in White is one of my faves) under her button down plaid tunic (try LaROK’s dressier Zooey Top in Multi for your own date night), Mamaguilera stuck to the basics with her black leggings (Tag Jeans’ Stretch Skinny Pant in Black is a super comfy alternative that won’t fall down after a night’s wear!) and wintry green beanie. I’m loving the black wedge boots, but I can’t quite wrap my mind around the free flowing strips on the sides – are they bows? Flaps? Do any of you have the answer? Toting a big black bag and accenting her ‘fit with flashy gold earrings (try Erica Anenberg’s adorable Baby Heart Hoop Earrings in Gold), Christina completed her look with crimson lips and matching nails. I used to love Christina’s red lipstick with her vintage ringlet curls, but I’m not so sure I like it with the mod bangs and the edgier styles she’s been sporting lately. Do you think it works for her - or anyone that has been copying the look lately? As Mamaguilera continues to work on her latest compilation due sometime at the end of this year, she announced her next project this week. Jumping on the fashion bandwagon, Christina will be the latest celeb to unveil her own collection for the trendy London based retailer, TopShop. Kate Moss already has a collection in the shop, and the line has been so successful that owner Philip Green asked Mamaguilera to be the next guest designer for the chain. Her collection hasn’t even been started yet, and projected earnings are already in the $1 million range! I’m not sure if I’d want to wear something with Christina’s signature flamboyant style, but I do love the constant evolution of fashions at TopShop and I’m sure Mamaguilera’s designs will fit right in. What do you think – will Christina be the next big celeb designer?
