Feeling a little political, Jessica Simpson heads to Washington, DC for the 2010 White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Hilton Washington Hotel on May 1. Jess mingled with celebs from teeny-bopper Justin Bieber to Precious star Gabourey Sidibe to Dennis Quaid at the cocktail party proceeding the event, hosted by Jay Leno. For the presidential affair Jessica stayed clear of conservative attire and opted instead for a sunny yellow Carolina Herrera frock (if yellow is your hue indulge in KEEMiA's Evelyn Strapless Bubble Dress in Yellow) paired with tan YSL pumps (opt for Samanta's Viv Peep in Brown). Jess loaded up on bangles (Amrita Singh's Alanna Bangle Set in Gold has a similar stacked appeal), carrying a bronze python embossed clutch (try Julie K's sizzling Sasha in Bronze) and dazzling with gold drop earrings (check out Marnie Bugs' gorgeous Latika Long Chandelier Earring in Gold). Yellow is one of my favorite colors, but I'm really on the fence here about whether or not this works for her – the fit seems to hug her curves in all the wrong ways, and for a White House event it seems a little flashy. What are your thoughts, readers? Jessica attended the event as a guest of People, gushing to the press afterwards about how much she envies Michelle Obama: "I really do. She's such an incredible woman, and she's with such a powerful man… Everything she does she exudes confidence. I'm really just here to celebrate her." Yet another classic JS quote – if only there were a dinner in honor of the First Lady she could attend instead!
