Looking glam as ever, Jessica Alba poses in the press room backstage at the 2010 American Music Awards in LA on November 21 as she waited to go onstage to present the award for Favorite Female Artist (Country), which happened to go to the lovely Taylor Swift. At the event Jess chose a very sophisticated one shoulder Cushnie et Ochs dress (work the look this holiday in Tt Collection's Audry Dress in Black or try Ella Moss' more playful Avedon Dress in Black) paired with some exquisite gold cuffs and a matching gold choker (try pairing Anna Beck's Timor Twisted Cuff in Gold with the Raja Large Gold Rectangle Shapes Cuff in Gold for your wrists and add Amrita Singh's Cheya Necklace in Gold to make a statement). Jessica wore her hair slicked back in a polished bun and completed the look with ankle strap Christian Louboutins (try Farylrobin's appropriately named Jessica in Black), giving her a very regal look at what was otherwise an event dominated by super short, embellished frocks. What do you think of Jessica's grown-up choice here, does it make the right statement? In terms of verbal statements, Jessica has been giving quite a few lately about how she views the entertainment industry, and in her latest interview she was asked to name a good role model in the business: "My role model is Angelina Jolie. She is so beautiful and has an incredible career. People talk more about her profession as an actress and humanitarian work in contrary to her looks.” I don't know if this is necessarily true – people talk about Angelina for a lot of different reasons, and being the sexpot who stole Brad Pitt is definitely one of them – I get the sense from this quote and her new sophisticated style direction that Jess wants to be looked at in the same professional light as well.
