Getting used to her new NYC surroundings, Rachel McAdams took a stroll through the West Village on April 23, stopping to pick up a few books from a public library. It doesn't get more down-to-earth than that! While out and about running errands on Thursday morning, Rachel kept it casual in a white tank under a classic cardigan (Autumn Cashmere's Puff Sleeve Crew Neck Cardigan in Dusty Purple is adorable for spring) and lightweight denim flares (check out Pierce Jeans' Bleu High Waist Trouser in Midnight Bleu). Opting for heeled brown boots, a classic khaki trench (try something lighter for spring like Woo's Martin Coat in White) and a slouchy grey hobo bag (check out Linea Pelle's Danielle Large Satchel in Grey), Rach is dressed more like a busy mom than a famous actress. I'm not going to advocate anyone completely copying this everyday look, but do you think it's acceptable for making a few stops around town? Rach has been spotted making her way all over the city this week, making promo appearances for State of Play and checking out possible new dwellings with her beau Josh Lucas. I know everyone wants to see Ryan Gosling and Rachel back together living happily ever after like their Notebook characters, but I gotta say Rach and Josh make a pretty cute couple too! They've been dating since January, when they were spotted together at a few inauguration parties (both are big Obama supporters). Onlookers said, "They were so lovey-dovey. They were nibbling on each other's necks, gazing into each other's eyes and doing a lot of flirty touching." How cute! Everyone wants to jump to the conclusion they're thinking about co-habitating because they were spotted checking out apartments together, but let's rationalize for a moment here: no one likes to go house hunting solo! What do you think of Rach and her new man together - is it more than just a fling?
