LEIGHTON LOVES NY

After seeing "Gossip Girl" cutie Leighton Meester in countless couture gowns and holding designer bags that probably cost more than most people's monthly rent, it is extremely refreshing to see her dressed oober casually, in just shorts and a tee. And the best part is, Leighton makes this effortless style seem oh so easy! She was spotted heading out of her trailer on the set of her hit show on June 19, wearing a pair of braided denim shorts (like Joe's Jeans' Braided 5 Pocket Short in Berkley, which I've been using for like every entry lately because it seems like light wash denim shorts are the look that all the fashionistas are leaning to for summer) with a basic grey tee (check out Signorelli's Children's Health Fund Top in Silver, to which all proceeds go to charity) and matching flip flops. While we all know that, like "Sex and the City" before it, "Gossip Girl" is filmed on location all over NYC, and Leighton is speaking out about how she wouldn't want it any other way. She says, "I’m really proud to be a part of that, something that actually shoots there. I think it would take away from the impact of the show if were shot anywhere else. The fact that we do go onto locations across the city is a huge part of it. It’s kind of a cycle, because the characters on the show are parts of the city and, in turn, we become part of the city because of the show… mostly, because we get to live there! I think everyone that came from L.A. to do the show, really fell in the love with the city." What are your thoughts, dear readers... would you rather live in LA or NYC?
