Kristen Stewart seen on Jun 29 2010 in New York, NY. Forgoing her usual preference for black dresses, Kristen Stewart lightens up in a flirty sheath dress for an appearance on "The Today Show" in New York City on June 29. KS has been making the promotional rounds for the latest release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which came out in theatres last week and has already smashed opening weekend records. While Kristen's style usually evolves around LBD's and black pumps, she stepped out of the box here in a fun Helmut Lang sheath dress with mesh cut-outs (get the cut-out look in Carter's Fab Side View Dress in Taupe or Monrow's French Terry Geo Dress in Natural) and matching Christian Louboutin pumps (love the texture of Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Sabbia Embossed Python) with a black bracelet accenting the look (Accessories & Beyond's Silver Bangle Bracelet in Black adds a sleek touch). The most exciting addition is her new auburn hair color – such a fresh change compared to her usual dark, drab tresses! Is it just me or is this little change doing wonders for her complexion? Kristen has been a great sport doing press for Twilight this time around, but that hasn't stopped her and the rest of the cast from having fun together after hours. Earlier this week Kristen and co-star Taylor Lautner headed to Lucky Strike for a late night bowling game, letting off some steam after a screening. I have to wonder why there are so many rumors about Kristen and Robert Pattinson but she's always spotted hanging out with Taylor – are we missing something here??
Kristen Stewart seen on Jun 18 2010 in Berlin, Germany. Leaving her bashful side at home, Kristen Stewart is a Versace vixen while out promoting The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in Berlin, Germany on June 18. K greeted fans and posed for pics with co-star Taylor Lautner at the Eclipse photocall, held at the Hotel Regant. I'm loving the sassy zippered look Kristen is sporting here (up the edgy ante with Nicole Miller's Cut-Out Black Zipper Dress in Black or Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent's Zip Slip Dress in Blue), accented with gorgeous Camilla Skovgaard cut-out booties (love the textured edge of Coye Nokes Joan Bootie in Black Embossed Python). K accessorized simply with a black bracelet (love CC Skye's glossy Triple Cobra Bangles in Black) and long charm necklace (add a little sizzle with a sassy charm like Jessica Elliot's Vermeil Small Ruby Eyed Snake Necklace in Gold), pulling her hair back in a messy up 'do while striking her signature slouchy, attitude filled poses for the paps. What do you readers think of this look, does it work for her? While the tabloids love to pick on KS for her sullen, shy demeanor, she shared with MTV News that she's actually having a lot of fun out on the promo trail for this leg of the Twilight saga: "I'm not forcing myself to do [press]. I'm actually just naturally having more fun with it. You get to talk about stuff that you normally don't really think about, so there's an interesting aspect to it… The only thing that really freaked me out before was just getting nervous about what I said. Now, I'm not nervous about what I say — just because I know what I want to say. Before, I didn't. I had nothing to say… That was always hard for me to do, so I looked, like, rude or whatever. But I'm having more fun with it now, as you can probably tell!" Sounds like Bella is all grown up! I don't know about you, but despite her awkwardness I'm beginning to like Kristen more and more than the impression I got from her painful interviews and acceptance speeches of the past. Are you sensing the same change?
Kristen Stewart seen on May 31 2010 in Sydney, Australia. Kristen Stewart heads down under for some Twilight promotions in Sydney, Australia on May 31. K joined her co-star Taylor Lautner at Luna Park for a meet and greet sesh with fans in anticipation of the release of the latest film in the saga, Twilight: Eclipse, in theaters on June 30. Kristen may be shy, but she let her bright yellow skirt do all the talking while on stage (add some color to your bottom half with Walter's quirky Patchwork Striped Skirt in Gold), tucking in a black sheer top (show off your curves in Monrow's Basic Long Tank in Black, or try combining the look with a sexy body hugging dress like Carter's Vegan Leather Contrast Dress in Black) to let the color stand out. Next K slipped on some black Sergio Rossi booties (lighten up for summer with Coye Nokes' Joan Bootie in Black Embossed Python) and pulled her hair back in a pony, adding a few simple black leather bracelets to complete the look (love the edgy vibe of Antoinette Lee's Studded Chain Bracelet in Black). What are your thoughts on this polished look readers, do you think it's an improvement for Kristen? As painfully awkward and shy as she is, K just can't seem to keep herself from coming under fire for her blunt comments in interviews. In a recent issue of British Elle, Kristen shared quite graphically how violated she feels by the paparazzi presence in her life: “What you don’t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction. The photos are so…I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can’t handle it. It’s f—ed. I never expected that this would be my life.” As insensitive as what she's saying is, I can't help but feel bad for her to come under fire for describing what she goes through every day. Do you think her comments were out of line, or is she just drawing sharp attention to the way celebrities' lives are invaded by the paps?
Kristen Stewart seen on Mar 11 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Making their red carpet debut, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning premiere their new rocker biopic The Runaways at ArcLight Cinemas in LA on March 11. Both girls looked a little nervous in front of the flashing lights, but at least they had each other for moral support – DF actually got Kristen to crack a smile at one point! In contrast to the dark, unexciting frocks KS usually wears on the red carpet, this time she stood out in a bright coral Doo Ri halter dress with a sheer neckline dropping to the waist (stand out in the same bold shade in Single Dress' Jewel Neck Halter Top in Coral or try the Samantha Twist Front Dress in Magenta). I love the illusion of a cut-out on the dress, but I'm not sure I like the finished product, especially not sure if I like it on her – she needs to be standing up just a little straighter to make it work. Definitely don't like the black heels – big scratch on this record. Once again, someone please tell me why so many celebs are ruining perfectly good gowns with heavy black heels this season! KS channeled the rocker vibe with black nail polish and kept her jewelry minimal with a black cocktail ring (try the unique shape of Megan Greene's Lolita in Midnight Gold). In contrast to her co-star, Dakota went for a flirty party girl frock from Valentino Couture, also featuring a sheer yoke embellished with crystals at the shoulders (check out Jenny Han's appropriately named Strapless Party Dress in Festive or get some serious shine on with Shumaq's One Shoulder Metallic Dress in Silver). Dakota also paired her dress with black heels, but with the metallic shade I don't dislike them quite as much as I do on Kristen. Don't get me wrong, both girls look gorg, I just wish their stylists had taken one last glance at them before sending them out in front of the cameras! What do you think of the girl's red carpet looks? You'd think after all the Twilight madness Kristen would have gotten over her shyness a little bit, but she's definitely still got a long way to go. At the Governor's Ball Oscar Afterparty last weekend, KS was introduced to Natalie Portman, whose work she says she's a huge fan of. After they shook hands Kristen nervously told the press, "I didn't want to be in the room anymore. I literally wanted to eat my own head with a fork and knife." Wow, is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult? Either way I'm pretty sure that doesn't fly with Natalie's vegan lifestyle!
Kristen Stewart seen on Feb 23 2010 in London, UK. One would think a fashion show would be the last place uber shy Kristen Stewart would set foot, but the Twilight star was giving showing off her trademark moody poses for the paps at the Burberry Prorsum runway show during London Fashion Week on February 23. The front row was quite a sight at the Fall 2010 show, with Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Hudson, Kristen and Claire Danes all seated together taking in the new collection. To make an appearance amongst such notorious fashionistas, I suspect Kristen had a little styling help, arriving in a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 ensemble complete with a knit top (like Whitney Kros' Rozell Glimmer Sweater in Gold) tucked into one of Burberry's trademark knot mini skirts (get the look at a much lower price with Walter's Foil Skirt in Gunmetal) and a long black trench (lighten up in Bailey 44's Coller Coat in Heather Grey). The trench and its complementary black pumps (try Samanta's Viv Peep in Brown as an alternative) are a bit heavy for such soft pieces playing on texture, but I'll let it slide as it's refreshing to see Kristen actually trying to break out of character for once. She might not be able to shake those sullen facial expressions but she sure can act! K's newest film, The Runaways, is set to be released in theatres next Friday, which tells the story of Joan Jett and Cherie Currie's rise to girl band fame. It's not easy to portray a living rock legend, but Joan chatted with MTV about how proud she is of Kristen's work: “I found us to be really, scarily similar, just in our physicality, the way we move through space. The thing that came through to me was that it was important to her to capture it. She really wanted to nail it [the role].”
Kristen Stewart seen on Feb 22 2010 in London, UK. Showing off a fun and flirty new look, Kristen Stewart graces the red carpet at the ELLE Style Awards in London on February 22. While she's definitely not a member of the "young and fabulously stylish" clique yet, from this sassy little Emilio Pucci mini you can see her taste is improving! Kristen let the black and white geometric printed bodice stand for itself with sequin trim and a charcoal tulip skirt (for similar black and white strapless options, try Eva Franco's Letticia Dress in Babylon Floral, the Veronica Dress in Venice Floral from the same designer or Jenny Han's Tube Mini Dress in City Scape), pairing the frock with strappy Bally heels (love the similar style with added metal and croc textures of Samanta's Zon Heel in Black). It's cute, it's age appropriate, and she didn't overkill it with accessories or crazy hair and make-up - I give her thumbs up all around. What do you readers think of K Stew's style? I only wish she'd give us a smile once in awhile! Kristen is known for being super awkward, borderline painfully shy during interviews, but she opened up to MTV on the red carpet after she was asked about co-star and long time rumored flame Robert Pattinson's new role in Remember Me. She gushed: "I’ve seen the movie, I’m going to just say — I’m sure people will be like, ‘Oh my God [I'm so jealous!]. He’s really good in the movie. It’s hard to talk about your friends — about anybody that’s close to you that you know. It’s like, he’s everything I know he is. I know he can do any film." Sounds like KS might just be Rob's biggest admirer! Maybe they are dating after all?
