Making their red carpet debut, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning premiere their new rocker biopic The Runaways at ArcLight Cinemas in LA on March 11. Both girls looked a little nervous in front of the flashing lights, but at least they had each other for moral support – DF actually got Kristen to crack a smile at one point! In contrast to the dark, unexciting frocks KS usually wears on the red carpet, this time she stood out in a bright coral Doo Ri halter dress with a sheer neckline dropping to the waist (stand out in the same bold shade in Single Dress' Jewel Neck Halter Top in Coral or try the Samantha Twist Front Dress in Magenta). I love the illusion of a cut-out on the dress, but I'm not sure I like the finished product, especially not sure if I like it on her – she needs to be standing up just a little straighter to make it work. Definitely don't like the black heels – big scratch on this record. Once again, someone please tell me why so many celebs are ruining perfectly good gowns with heavy black heels this season! KS channeled the rocker vibe with black nail polish and kept her jewelry minimal with a black cocktail ring (try the unique shape of Megan Greene's Lolita in Midnight Gold). In contrast to her co-star, Dakota went for a flirty party girl frock from Valentino Couture, also featuring a sheer yoke embellished with crystals at the shoulders (check out Jenny Han's appropriately named Strapless Party Dress in Festive or get some serious shine on with Shumaq's One Shoulder Metallic Dress in Silver). Dakota also paired her dress with black heels, but with the metallic shade I don't dislike them quite as much as I do on Kristen. Don't get me wrong, both girls look gorg, I just wish their stylists had taken one last glance at them before sending them out in front of the cameras! What do you think of the girl's red carpet looks? You'd think after all the Twilight madness Kristen would have gotten over her shyness a little bit, but she's definitely still got a long way to go. At the Governor's Ball Oscar Afterparty last weekend, KS was introduced to Natalie Portman, whose work she says she's a huge fan of. After they shook hands Kristen nervously told the press, "I didn't want to be in the room anymore. I literally wanted to eat my own head with a fork and knife." Wow, is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult? Either way I'm pretty sure that doesn't fly with Natalie's vegan lifestyle!

Kristen Stewart seen on Feb 23 2010 in London, UK. One would think a fashion show would be the last place uber shy Kristen Stewart would set foot, but the Twilight star was giving showing off her trademark moody poses for the paps at the Burberry Prorsum runway show during London Fashion Week on February 23. The front row was quite a sight at the Fall 2010 show, with Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Hudson, Kristen and Claire Danes all seated together taking in the new collection. To make an appearance amongst such notorious fashionistas, I suspect Kristen had a little styling help, arriving in a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 ensemble complete with a knit top (like Whitney Kros' Rozell Glimmer Sweater in Gold) tucked into one of Burberry's trademark knot mini skirts (get the look at a much lower price with Walter's Foil Skirt in Gunmetal) and a long black trench (lighten up in Bailey 44's Coller Coat in Heather Grey). The trench and its complementary black pumps (try Samanta's Viv Peep in Brown as an alternative) are a bit heavy for such soft pieces playing on texture, but I'll let it slide as it's refreshing to see Kristen actually trying to break out of character for once. She might not be able to shake those sullen facial expressions but she sure can act! K's newest film, The Runaways, is set to be released in theatres next Friday, which tells the story of Joan Jett and Cherie Currie's rise to girl band fame. It's not easy to portray a living rock legend, but Joan chatted with MTV about how proud she is of Kristen's work: “I found us to be really, scarily similar, just in our physicality, the way we move through space. The thing that came through to me was that it was important to her to capture it. She really wanted to nail it [the role].”

While she's definitely not a member of the "young and fabulously stylish" clique yet, from this sassy little Emilio Pucci mini you can see her taste is improving! It’s hard to talk about your friends — about anybody that’s close to you that you know. It’s like, he’s everything I know he is. I know he can do any film."
