Taking a break from her "Hello Katy" world tour, Katy Perry was spotted out at MyHouse club in LA on July 15 with a mystery fellow at her side. For the past month she's been on the exhausting European leg of her tour, performing dozens of times from Spain to Germany and everywhere in between. The tour resumes July 25 in Boston and stretches through September – are any of you catching her show? Unwinding at LA's hotspot of the week, Katy arrived in a sexy black leather mini with uber fierce bandage heels and a loose tee with giant flamingos (show your animal love with Lauren Moshi's Giraffe V Tee in White or the Owl Racer Tank in Heather Grey). Although Katy Perry claims she has nothing to do with it, an Australian legal team representing her sent a cease & desist letter to Aussie fashion designer Katie Perry after she filed a copyright app for her loungewear line, threatening legal action if she refused to stop using her own name. Is it really a crime to share the same name? After repeatedly trying to connect with Katy through their lawyers, Katie made a YouTube video pleading with Katy to stop the madness. In the vid, Katie said: "You're a girl who has a dream just like myself." Thankfully, Katy's lawyers reconsidered and dropped the suit just hours before it was due to be heard in court (according to Katie Perry's Twitter updates), but Katy is keeping quiet on the issue. I can understand her qualms – if she tours in Australia, she would be prevented from advertising herself as Katy Perry lest Aussies confuse her with the designer – but seriously, what's the big deal? And doesn't Katy feel just a teeny bit hypocritical that she's not even fighting over her birth name (Kathryn Elizabeth Hudson)? Whatever the reasoning, I hope these two ladies kiss & make up soon!
