America’s favorite cheerleading sweetheart, Hayden Panettiere, made waves on Sat night when she stepped out for Donald Trump’s exclusive A-list shindig in Bel-Air on August 23. The party was promoting the Donald’s newest Trump International Hotel & Tower venture in Dubai, not due to open its doors until 2011, when it will be the tallest structure in the city. Among the other celebs in attendance, HP outshone all of her competitors in a slinky leopard mini tube dress (if you like the look, try Lotta Stensson’s Shirred Mini Tube Dress in Black for a toned down version) with matching peep toe stilettos and coordinated gold bangles (try Jennifer Zeuner’s Set of 14 Bangles in Gold for a multi hued variety), gold dangly earrings (check out Kuo Ting’s Antique Pendant Earrings in Gold), and a vintage-esque gold box clutch (try Antoinette Lee’s sassy Suede Vita Clutch in Black). I’m not the biggest fan of over-the-top animal prints, so I’m sort of biased against this one, but what do you think – does Hayden pull it off? Fresh faced as usual, HP pulled back her new shorter ‘do in an elegantly simple up-do. I have a feeling she doesn’t like the new cropped coif because I don’t think she’s worn it down since dinner at Madeo the day of the cut! HP has been a busy bee filming the upcoming season of Heroes, but she’s taken time off to promote her favorite cause: saving the whales! Her latest venture, panettierecloset.com, is based on a very interesting concept. You can go on the site and buy Hayden’s rejected clothes (one season at a time) and the proceeds will be donated to help HP’s marine friends. Hayden says on the site, “It’s my dream to put an end to illegal whaling around the world, and I’m asking you to be MY hero and help spread the word. Such a cause can not continue to go unnoticed, so I’m pleading with you to help me, help the whales, the dolphins and seals. Cleaning out my closet is just the beginning; and putting my stuff up for sale is the first step in a crusade that will go a long way to helping these majestic mammals. The money we raise together will bring a larger-than-life awareness to everyone who believes saving the world means living in a humane world.” A very noble cause for someone as youthful as Hayden!
