JESSICA'S WINTER WHITES

Lightening up for the weekend, Jessica Simpson was in good spirits after dining with BFF Ken Paves at Boa Steakhouse in Santa Monica, CA on January 23. Paying no attention to the winter season (more or less non-existent in California anyway), Jess rocked a white blazer (I'm loving The Battalion's modern twist on the classic jacket, the Asymmetric Boho Jacket in White) with almost white bleached skinnies (opt for Genetic Denim's Skinny Zip in Oxide), adding a black loose boyfriend tee (love Rails' Gina Shirt in Black) and black Casadei pumps for contrast. Like many Texas sweethearts, Jess is a fan of all things oversized, adding her trademark LV tote and a ribbon necklace with chunky pendants that remind me of a python - the actual snake, not just the print (keep the ribbon and ditch the weird baubles with Elizabeth Gillett's Jersey Flapper Necklace in Black). Are you feelin' this look? It's a bit sloppy in my opinion, but the pinned back layers give her a pretty, natural look that meshes well with the casual attire. What do you readers think, does this style work for winter? As most of you will know from any trip to Macy's over the past few years, Jessica's contemporary line, the Jessica Simpson Collection, has been flourishing even in the dismal economy, expanding into swimwear and accessories. Next up: denim! Jess recently announced her latest fashion endeavor will hit stores in July, explaining her inspiration: “Because I live in denim, the fit was the most important. A girl’s booty needs to look good. I was inspired to create a great denim line that complements the entire Jessica Simpson lifestyle brand – a jean that becomes a girl’s best friend, that everyday go-to pair."
