JESSICA DECLARES HERSELF

After spending a week in New York checking out the latest fashions, Jessica Alba returned to Hollywood this weekend and had a casual Sunday brunch with her family on Sept 14 at the Griddle Café in Hollywood. Dressed in a slouchy grey cardigan tunic (like Woo’s comfy Rosie Long Grandpa Cardigan in Heather Grey) with a black cami underneath revealing her voluptuous curves, comfy bootcut jeans (try Hudson’s Signature Bootcut Jean in Pisces) and eye-catching crystal encrusted ballet flats, Jessica displayed none of the fashion finesse she should have absorbed in the Big Apple but still looked like her usual, healthy self. Jess finished her ‘fit with a cute black and brown tote (check out Rough Roses’ Whitney Tote in Grey with its black leather accents) and classic brown aviators, looking mildly discontented as she and her hubby made their exit. Jess and Cash have been very careful about keeping Honor Marie out of the spotlight, and this outing was no exception as Cash shielded the baby carrier from the paps. Jessica has made some very outlandish (not to mention strict) statements about her parenting philosophy, but this week she’s stirring up controversy on the political scene. Jessica’s new “Declare Yourself” ad was recently released, featuring Jessica crying in the nude with black electrical tape sealing her mouth. The ad is part of a campaign to motivate people to vote in the upcoming election, as Jess explained to People: “I think it is important for young people to be aware of the need we have in this country to get them more active politically. People respond to things that are shocking. If you don’t register and vote and make a difference, and hopefully change the bad things that are happening in our country, you are essentially just binding and muzzling yourself.” A powerful statement, but I have to say I couldn’t agree more!
