JESSICA CHOWS DOWN

Going back to her Daisy Duke roots, Jessica Simpson dined in ultra short-shorts in Beverly Hills on August 11 with her mane man, Ken Paves. The well-tressed duo spent time in Santa Monica before heading to Mr. Chow for what had to have been a deliciously satisfying meal. From the goofy look on her face, it looks like Jess may have had a few cocktails by the time she exited! For her dinner date, JS wore a loose patterned top (similar to Cake Couture’s Poppy Embroidered Tie Front Tunic), with denim micro shorts (like True Religion’s Josie Big T Short in Light Lovestruck), and a pair of chunky platform heels. Maybe they are part of the Jessica Simpson collection? Jess dressed up her ‘fit with shiny turquoise earrings (check out Lisa K’s petite version, the Greece Earrings in Gold), a funky silver band ring (see Femme Metale’s Floral Heart Ring in Silver), and her favorite oversized domed handbag (check out the similar shape of Carla Mancini’s Top Zipper Dome Bag in Chestnut). Despite a somewhat rocky and widely criticized transition to the country music scene, Jessica’s debut single “Come on Over” has actually climbed the charts to the Top 20. Way to go Jess! The former pop songstress is eager to branch into uncharted country territory, saying, “Really I just feel like I’m back to my roots as a southern girl, being from Texas and all. It’s the music that I would listen to growing up.” In regards to the criticism she’s received, Jess confidently said, "I don't like to keep up on everything the media says because they're always going to try to pull you down. I don't want to be someone who has to always sing just pop music." It’s very refreshing for someone who is so successful from her singing and acting career to her wide ranging cosmetics and fashion lines have such a positive outlook! No matter what life has thrown at her lately, it seems like JS has her head straight.
