Let's just assume Jess hasn't had time to do laundry yet, as she and the fam spent the holidays relaxing beach side in Mexico, savoring the last few days of 2009 before Jessica's whirlwind year gets started. Looking very chic at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Event, Jessica Alba arrived at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on October 30 radiating subtle glamour in her Prada Resort 2010 dress. At the very least this look proves LBD's can be anything but boring with the right accessories! I couldn't find photos to show you the back of the dress, but it has a beautiful draped sheer treatment to complement the plunging v neckline (very similar to the back of Karen Zambos' Selma Dress in Black, but if you're looking for a showstopping LBD Generra's Deep V Dress in Black is a great option). Jess swept her hair up in a classy 'do to show off the dress, with glowing natural makeup and no jewelry. She carried a slender black clutch (I love the refined simplicity of Zambos and Siega's Morgan Clutch in Black), fringed wrap (Elizabeth Gillett's Brushed Metallic Scarf in Black is perfect for the holidays) and accented the look with black platforms with a bow embellishment. This look might be too plain for some but I think she executes it perfectly. I'm so glad she didn't cover up with ugly black tights for this event, which would have absolutely killed the chic style. I have to comment on her toned arms and legs as well – she has really slimmed down over the past few months! Jess has been busy filming Little Fockers lately, but she doesn't let long hours on the set get in the way of her parenting. Co-star Teri Polo talks to E! Online about moms on the set, including Jess: "Her little baby Honor has come to set and run around, and my baby girl who's almost two comes to set and runs around…Lots of gals, which is nice." I think it had to have been a mistake because she was sporting a much less jarring shade while having family brunch with Cash and Honor at Griddle Café over the weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! While catching up with her friend, Jess went for an uber casual vibe in a studded charcoal tank (go edgy with Raw 7's Shredded Racerback Tank in Deep Navy) over a lacy black cami (steer away from the lingerie look with 7 for All Mankind's Tank with Lace in Onyx), black cut off shorts (go for the mid-thigh look with Pierce Jean's Key Large Trouser Short in Sailor and crop them to your desired length) and silver flip-flops. She arrived at the opening reception of the Clinton Global Initiative at the Museum of Modern Art on Sept 23 with her husband Cash Warren before hurrying to the 4th Annual Important Dinner for Women at Cipriani 42nd Street. Straddling the line between fashion and politics, Jess opted for a vibrant red burnout velvet Prada Fall 2009 dress with an abstract floral print (get the luxe look with LaROK's Twist Wrap Dress with Ribbon in Black or Tricia Fix's Lanette Mini Dress in Sage). I've tried to be nice about Jessica's propensity for hosiery in the past, but this calls for an intervention. Why, why tights with everything? This dress would have been amazing with those thigh high boots she wore during NY Fashion Week, or even a sheer pair of stockings would have softened this look considerably. But no, the stark black tights, plain patent Mary Janes and no-frills hair equals a no-frills 'fit, unfortunately. I must say I do like the shade of rouge she picked to match the dress, and the simple black wristlet (like Julie K's Sarah Clutch in Black Glaze) and cuff bracelet (Danielle Stevens' Monogram Bracelet in Gold would be a nice touch) are decent complements. I just can't say anything else nice with the horrible hosiery ruining the look! Is it just me who thinks the tights have been overdone? The following day, Jess continued on her political path at the Clinton Global Initiative, taking the stage for a panel discussion with Bono on a wide range of global issues, including education. Upon her return Jess blogged about her experience and seized the opportunity to tell her fans about her commitment to 1GOAL: Education For All, aiming to raise awareness of the 75 million children around the world who don't have access to education. I wouldn't have thought I'd be interested in reading up on Jessica's thoughts on education, but she impressed me with the amount of info she picked up at the CGI. Continuing with their Sunday brunch tradition, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren took baby Honor to Jinky's Café in WeHo on August 30 for some grubs. It seems like no matter how big Hollywood may be, there's not a breakfast joint in town this fam hasn't tried – they're regulars at Urth Café, Jack and Jill's, Griddle Café and countless others. Jess was already spotted taking Honor out to breakfast earlier this week – maybe their chef doesn't do morning meals? On this particular outing, I have to say Jess is workin' the straw fedora, printed scarf look – love the vibrant green print and the matching gladiators! Since she played around with her accessories Jess kept it simple with a striped spaghetti strap dress (try Trina Turk's Biscayne Tunic Sweater Dress in Ecru or Ella Moss' Clementine Tube Dress in Sangria) and a studded tan tote (check out the similar buttery shade of Carla Mancini's Tote with Front Tassel in Tan), still wearing those silver hoop earrings (add some flair with Michele Michel's Swarovski Hoops in Silver) but no other jewelry besides her wedding band. I have to say I really like this look, from head to toe – pretty much a first for Alba's contrived style! What do you think, did she finally get it right here? For those of you living outside of Cali, you might have heard on the news this weekend that several massive infernos are blazing across the state, including one threatening up to 12,000 homes in the Angeles National Forest north of LA. Lots of celebs have taken to Twitter to speak out about the nasty air quality, scary predictions (the fire is only 5% contained) and of course the threat that Hollywood Hills residents may have to evacuate. Jessica's hubby even posted a pic of the smoke on Sunday with the caption: "Doesn't that cloud look like LA got nuked?" Countless celebs make their homes in the HH area alongside Jess and Cash, including Christina Aguilera and Kristen Bell, who Tweeted about putting her fire safety kit together over the weekend, just in case. It's been pretty steamy in LA this week and Jess kept cool in a loose lilac pocket tee (like PGD Style's Ricky Tunic Tee in Plum Kitty), cuffed bleached skinnies (like Joe's Jeans' Chelsea Cuff Jean in Cooper) and metallic ballet flats. She kept her accessories minimized to a navy handbag (love Antoinette Lee's versatile Stella Tote in Royal), silver hoops and classic black Wayfarers. Nothing too special except for the vibrant violet shade – love it! Looks like Jess is also still rocking the blonde tresses – what do you think of the lightened shade? Jess has told the press multiple times she refuses to get onboard with Twitter because she's too busy being a mom (can't blame her), but that won't stop Cash Warren from sharing his daddy joys with their fans earlier this week: "Good night ya'll. Back to LA tomorrow. What a weekend in Austin [Texas]. Honor took her first steps tonight!! Uh oh..." How cute!

Letting the little "stink" take the keys (hey, it's what her daddy calls her), Jess made her way from the Newsroom Café to the car with her little one. Honor's looking more and more like her mama everyday – especially with that little scowl! Alba dressed casually for her morning outing, wearing a navy tunic dress (check out sleeveless options like Graham and Spencer's Cinch Waist Dress in Navy, Velvet's Marlo Mini Dress in Navy or Tracy Reese's Embellished Tunic in Light Navy for different looks) with strappy white sandals and a long gold necklace (check out Lisa K Designs' elegant Lace Cake Necklace in Gold/Pearl). I like the summery white accessories, even if the navy is a little dull…. Or very dull. I do like the blonde waves though – at first I wasn't loving Jessica's lightened tresses but she's definitely learning how to make them look almost natural. Do any of you think she looks better as a brunette? Since her baby girl was born a little over a year ago, Jess has been dishing plenty of advice about being a celebrity mom. Now that Honor is getting older, she's finding parenting easier said than done: “It’s a lot more difficult to juggle motherhood and a career than I ever anticipated. So busy! And Honor is more mobile now than ever before and loves putting just about any foreign object in her mouth. I have to be a constant watchdog.” At least Jess can rest easy that whatever Honor puts in her mouth is probably non-toxic and eco-friendly in one way or another!

Her 'fit isn't terrible for summer but I just can't get past the slicked back blonde hair and bug-eye sunnies. Yikes! Do any of you agree? Like many high profile celebrity moms, Jessica has worked hard to make eco-friendly changes to her home and lifestyle. Her house has been featured in People, InStyle and most recently, Vogue. Jess sat down for a min during her recent Vogue photoshoot to discuss the things she does to reduce her environmental impact, from having a lawn made of recycled tires to using non-toxic vinegar for cleaning around the house. I know the straw fedora is just to cover up messy hair, but something about the contrasting texture jumps out at me. Would any of you wear a similar hat during the summer? Luckily she didn’t find any presents on her windshield on Sunday, but Jess has been having a bit of trouble remembering the law lately. While she might be a good actress (key word: might be), Jessica just can’t seem to stop racking up the tickets. Jessica got a parking ticket while having lunch at Urth Café with Honor after her birthday last month, and was also spotted pulled over by the po-po on a separate occasion. Jess got another parking ticket while out with a friend in Beverly Hills earlier this week, and brushed it off like it was no big d. Wonder if she’s actually paying or just letting them pile up? Seems like her monthly expenses for parking might be getting kind of hefty!

Looking radiant a week after her 28th birthday, Jessica Alba attended the Costume Institute Gala and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 4. While most of the other attendees got the message that the event calls for a little drama and glamour, Jessica stuck to her signature style with a strapless colorblock dress by Jason Wu (check out Black Halo's Jacket Dress in Royal Blue in the same color scheme or stick to the colorblock look with Black Halo's Boatneck Sheath Dress with Hip Sash in Geranium/Deep Purple/Cranberry). Not that the dazzling bodice isn't breathtaking, and I love the cerulean blue skirt, but she could wear this any day. Why not go for the something a little more daring? And the tights - no more tights Jess! It's not even cold in NYC anymore, and the shoes are custom made Bruno Frisoni for Jason Wu. The concealing tights just don't do the one of a kind strappy style justice. Wearing tights with peeptoes is also a personal pet peeve of mine - why Jess, why? I guess she did try to "dress up" a little with the funky Rapunzel braids wrapped on her head, but the braids and little girl tights combo takes away from the youthful, sophisticated dress. I see those braids and think "fairy tale," but there is nothing imaginative about this look. Finishing it off with dazzling emerald Van Cleef & Arpels earrings (a little reminiscent of Angelina's Oscar look) and a decadent diamond, pink and mauve sapphire bracelet, Jess carried a hot pink clutch in a shade all too similar to her lipstick (pink lovers, try Carla Mancini's Small Clutch in Fuchsia), and painted her nails noir. What do you think of her 'fit of the evening? Surprisingly, this look landed Jess on both People and MTV's Best Dressed lists, saying she looks "young and fresh" - apparently they haven't noticed she wears tights every time she wears a dress like this! Yawn. Jessica did find her way on to The Huffington Post's Worst Dressed List, but next to Leighton Meister's freaky jester 'fit and Madonna's weird witch scrunchie head piece, I don't really think it's appropriate to saddle her there either. Where do you think she belongs on the fashion spectrum? The dress was custom made for her, after all, and Jason Wu spoke about how delighted he was to work with the actress: "She’s a great mom. I don’t know how she juggles it all.  Busy acting career, being a mom and tonight as my muse. She’s multitasking, and she’s a great one at that." So if she was Jason's Muse of the evening ("Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion" was the theme this year) maybe we should blame him for not taking a chance on the red carpet. What do you think?

Jess started with a sky blue tank (like PGD Style's versatile Fancy Tank in Bonnie Blue) and comfy sweats (check out the fun print on Kushcush's Promenade Pant in Black/White, pairing a peachy cardigan (I adore the girly shade of Autumn Cashmere's new V Neck Cardigan in Ultramarine) and a matching scarf (A Graves' Colt 45 Scarf in Pink would be cute with the cardigan) with her ivory ballet flats and large Fendi tote. It's not so bad for running errands, but I'm not loving the matchy-matchy top half - it looks like she's trying too hard, don't you think? The day before, Alba was spotted exiting a salon on Melrose with newly highlighted locks - Hello, blonde! As you can see, Jessica lightened her locks considerably and is now sporting side bangs instead of the full fringed effect. Wonder if it's for her new flick, The Killer Inside Me, or personal preference? I'm one of those fans that thinks Jess looks better with her natural brunette locks than her former blonde 'do, but what do you think - does she look better au naturale or do with the new look?

Jess stayed hydrated with Fiji water as she pushed a delighted Honor Marie on the swings, getting in some quality mom and daughter time before she starts filming The Killer Inside Me later this month. Aren’t the little crocheted booties Honor is wearing adorable? Speaking of babies, it looks like Nicole Richie might not be the only celeb looking to expand their family. It seems like baby fever has hit Hollywood once again, and someone “close to the Warrens” told the National Enquirer Jessica is also eager to be avec child again: "Jessica and Cash are working overtime to get pregnant. She and Cash are boasting that they love being parents and are determined to expand their family as soon as possible." Sounds like a tough job!

Jessica seems to be taking fashion risks all over the place these days, but I actually like the way her blouse and skirt work together this time – I just wish the high neck look wasn’t so frumpy. Jess put her look together starting with a loose geometric print blouse (try Prairie New York’s Tie Turtleneck Top in Purple Feather) with a double wrap skinny belt (like Jack Rabbit’s slender Bullet Belt in Black) and a straight black mini skirt (Black Halo’s Button Down Pocket Skirt in Black would look great with the above top tucked in). She sure loves her tights, so naturally Jess wore a pair of sheer black stockings with black pumps, accenting her ‘fit with a glossy black clutch (like Julie K’s Sasha Clutch in Black Glaze) and some mod dangle earrings with big silver circles on the ends (try Calico Juno’s Victorian 01 Earrings in Dark Amethyst). Once again her bangs are getting a little long, so I’m not crazy about them brushed to the side, but I like the 80’s-meets-mod vibe going on here. Do you think it works for her? Though she and Cash have been married almost a year now, Jess recently reflected on some low moments of their past, thanks to the paparazzi. Apparently, the person who officiated she and Cash’s hush-hush nuptials leaked the news to the press before Jess had time to break the news to mom and dad, prompting Jess to speak her mind: "We were planning to take them out to dinner and tell them, but that got ruined… [I was] more hurt, probably, than anything. It’s not the first time something like that has happened. Journalists feel entitled to do whatever it takes to get a sensational story, no matter how it affects the person involved. We’re not really people, right? We’re just celebrities.” Am I sensing a little bitterness there, Ms. Alba? I agree with Jess that the tabloids are way too invasive in celeb’s personal lives, but it sort of goes with the territory. I mean, Jess had a secret wedding while she was 7 months pregnant – did she really think she could keep it a secret forever? I’m pretty sure even if she wasn’t famous it wouldn’t have taken long for the cat to jump out of that bag! Do you think the constant media presence is unfair to celebs these days?

I get that she was going for the avant-garde look, but what IS that thing around her shoulders? Capelets might be hot right now but that doesn’t excuse this mess! When I first saw it, it reminded me of the Project Runway episode when Chris March got eliminated, pretty much for using real human hair as fur trim. Does anyone else remember? Some of you might not like it just because it’s fur, but for me it’s the color and texture that doesn’t work. It’s a kinda creepy! Besides the hairy misstep, Jessica enjoyed the show in a murky satin sheath dress (try Prairie New York’s elegant Pleated Satin Shift Dress in Black, and add Autumn Cashmere’s chic Flutter Sleeve Bolero with Crystal Button in Black if you feel chilly), once again wearing tights paired with some interesting pumps. Love the red accents on the strap but it looks like they’re too big for her feet, don’t you think? Not liking the hair either – Jess slicked her tresses back with a skinny triple headband and gathered it in a messy bun, emphasizing her uneven (ahem, receding?) hairline. Not exactly her most flattering look! The one thing I do like is the clutch – the studded look is perfect for going out (if you’re a fan check out CC Skye’s Bolt Clutch in Black, or add a little pop of color for spring with Linea Pelle’s Danielle Clutch in Fuchsia). Cruising the City of Lights on wheels, Jess checked out an art exhibit at the “Jeu de Paume” museum before meeting up with a lady friend for some serious shopping along the famous boulevard Saint Germain. Besides enjoying a little break from her motherly duties, Jessica is in town for Paris Fashion Week and is expected to attend the Miu Miu show tomorrow. For her day of sightseeing, Jessica started with a slouchy black turtleneck (try PGD Style’s Jaclyn Cozy Turtleneck Top in Black for mild winter temps), dark skinnies (try Hudson’s comfortable Carly Skinny Jean in Black) and some adorable black flats with flirty bows on the toes. Adding an electric blue knit cap, big round sunnies and an ornate tan printed tote (I’m sure Jess would adore Carla Mancini’s Tote with Braided Handles in Off White Crocodile for the spring season), Jess looked très chic as she made her way around the city. What do you think of her comfy look? If you noticed the futuristic handlebars of Jessica’s bike, she’s not trying to set herself apart from the crowd – the bike is a rental from Paris’ bike-sharing service, called Velib. It’s a pretty cool program, designed to alleviate traffic on the streets and give citizens an alternative to the crowded metro system. Riders can rent bikes hourly and turn them in to the nearest rental point when they reach their destination. Jess did just that when she met up with her gal pal for a delicious lunch at Relais de l’Entrecôte, turning her wheels in before hitting the shops. You know Ms. Green loves the idea of reducing her environmental impact – if only LA would start up a similar program!

When her post-preggers bod came up, Jess revealed a surprising secret about getting back in shape: “I wore a girdle. Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack. She told me to put an elastic band around my waist—any kind of band or girdle works. She was like, “I slept in it.” I didn’t recover as fast as she did. I don’t have a sixpack—that’s just not my body at all.” A girdle, huh? The things we do to stay thin! Jess went on to say that she was also on a vigorous workout routine to lose the baby weight – so vigorous she literally shed tears over it, and hasn’t been back in a gym since the Campari shoot. First of all, I’m not a fan of the baggy shape and the hook on the side gathering the dress. It adds way to much volume to her body and the little girl tights and plain pumps aren’t helping either. Don’t get me wrong, I love the bright blue hue (try dresses in a similar shade like Shumaq’s better tailored Sophia Dress in Bright Blue, Smitten’s Aline Turtleneck Dress in Blueberry or Karina Grimaldi’s Zuni Silk Mini Dress in Royal Blue), but it’s a pretty shocking decision. You’d think red and blue would be the last two colors you’d wear to an event involving Crips and Bloods! Jessica is no stranger to slip ups, and she got herself into quite a mess at the “Declare Yourself” event in Washington, DC last month. After getting into a tiff with Bill O’Reilly’s producer after refusing to give a shout-out for the show, Jess tried to get things back on track by asking the reporter what he liked best about Obama. Like Jess, he wouldn’t respond, so she replied jokingly, “That’s right, be neutral. Be Sweden.”. Of course, Bill O’Reilly jumped all over the comment, insinuating she meant to say Switzerland. Bill was actually incorrect – both Sweden and Switzerland have a long history of neutrality in armed conflicts – but that didn’t stop him from calling her a pinhead on the show. To prove her smarts, Jessica defended herself on her blog and posted a link to Wikipedia proving Sweden’s neutrality: “Last week, Mr. Bill O’Reilly and some really classy sites (i.e.TMZ) insinuated I was dumb by claiming Sweden was a neutral country. We all know how much Jessica loves to share her views, and recently she set off a little controversy with none other than FOX News resident Bill O’Reilly. At the Pre-Inaugural “Declare Yourself” event Jess attended in DC last month, she was approached by Bill’s producer and asked to give a shoutout for the show. After Jessica’s provocative “Declare Yourself” ads showing her silenced with a muzzle, it was nice to see Jess looking radiant again as she posed for the paps with her hubby Cash Warren. They made a difference." I have to completely agree – I think we all believe in the power of the vote a little more now that we’ve seen the great strides made in this election. I’m not sure if we should credit celebs like Jessica for motivating us to make it the polls, but her efforts and others have inspired me to make a difference over the next four years. In the film, Jess will play Allison, who can see into the supernatural world due to an eye transplant. Talk about suspending disbelief, geez!
