IT'S "PICKING OUT JEWELRY"

"The City" star Olivia Palermo walked the red carpet of the Operation Smile Annual Gala in NYC on May 6, as she attended the lavish fete with her beau Johannes Huebl. The always impeccably dressed Olivia donned a one-shouldered tiered white dress, and if you are smitten with Olivia's look, check out Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent's similarly tiered Three Tiered Dress in White, or for the one-shoulder look, Black Halo's Jane Sheath in White is beautiful. From there, she chose a pair of patent pumps (get a lighter look with Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Taupe Patent) with a studded gold bangle (just like CC Skye's Spike Love Bracelet in Gold) and a unique purple feathered bag. I'm not sure if I'm feelin' the bag... although I do appreciate the pop of color that it brings to an otherwise muted ensemble. What are your feelings, readers? I know that a lot of you are fans of "The City," so what did you think of this week's episode? I always turn to New York Magazine's "The Cut Blog's" recap of the show after I watch it, their take is always dead-on and so hilarious. As you saw, Olivia's boss at Elle, the amazing Joe Zee, has often lauded her praises for her ability of picking out jewelry. To this, "The Cut" says: "Become a useful part of the organization that employs you. Don't do nothing but play with jewelry. Magazines do not employ people because the only thing they can do well is pick out jewelry. Is picking out jewelry even something one can be great at? It's picking out jewelry. Erin tells Joe, who thinks this is a spectacular strength of Olivia's, that picking out a necklace is not enough. And she's right." So true, and so funny. I totally agree, although the supermodel strut that Olivia does down the Elle hallway is priceless and they should keep her "employed" there for that act alone!
