Hollywood's golden couple no more

I am sad to say that one of Hollywood's most beloved couples, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, announced yesterday that they are separating. This really did come as a shock to me, along with many others, because Reese and Ryan genuinely seemed happy. Content with staying out of the public eye and spending quality time with their children, rumors have always circulated about how Ryan envied Reese's uber-successful career and Oscar win, but that wouldn't be enough for them to split, right? Rumors have broken today that Ryan had an affair with Australian actress Abbie Cornish, who is Ryan's costar in his new film Stop Loss. Reese allegedly discovered incriminating text messages on Ryan's Blackberry and that is the reason behind the split. While probably just gossip, let's hope Reese doesn't join Jen Aniston in the role of Molly Moper, president of the First Wives Club. Reese is strong and beautiful, let's all send both Reese and Ryan best wishes.

Reese was spotted shopping alone and sipping on iced tea in Brentwood on October 28, emphasis on the alone. You know, now that Reese is a newly single mama, the fact that she spent the day on her own would grab headlines on it's own, despite the fact that the only time she was seen with Ryan recently was at the premiere of his film Flags of Our Fathers, and didn't seem too happy about it. Either way, I'm sure Reese will be fine, considering she isn't letting her style suffer by rockin' a pair of skinny jeans with a layered black and gray top.
