GIFT WRAPPED HOUSEWIFE

Literally shining on the red carpet, Eva Longoria-Parker arrived at the 2008 Emmy’s with her hubby in tow on Sept 21. Eva flaunted a decadent look, disregarding the floor length trend and opting to wear a shimmering silver Marchesa mini with flapper fringe and a giant jeweled bow covering her chest (for less pricey options, check out Zoa’s Twist Ruffle Front Tunic in Silver Grey or LaROK’s Sequin Patchwork Racerback Mini in Grey). How do you feel about this flashy frock? Personally, I think Eva looks wrapped up like an early Christmas present… not exactly my favorite look! Eva stuck with the metallic theme for her accessories, wearing razor sharp pointy-toed pumps while carrying a matching silver clutch (like Carla Mancini’s Small Python Clutch in Silver) and dazzling teardrop earrings (try Kuo Ting’s Frosted Teardrop Earrings in Silver). As the new season of Desperate Housewives looms closer, rumors continue to swirl over Eva’s recent weight gain that has everyone wondering if she’s got a bun in her oven. This week, none other than Longoria’s co-star, Felicity Huffman, did her part to squash the rumors, telling People mag, "She's just fat, that's all there to it." Yikes! If that doesn’t attest to drama between the housewives, I don’t know what else would provoke Felicity to make such a blunt (not to mention hurtful!) comment about her co-star for the past four years. Maybe it has something to do with the recent accusations against Eva regarding potential guest star Heather Mills, Paul McCartney’s ex. According to Heather’s former publicist, producers were interested in bringing Heather in for a cameo, but when they consulted the stars it was Eva who flat-out killed the idea. Now, let’s note again that it is a former publicist making these accusations, but all the same it does corroborate past accusations that Eva is a diva both on screen and off. Any thoughts?
