GETTING MARRIED IS NOT FOR EVERYONE

Looking like her usual girly self, Anne Hathaway channeled 50’s glam and let her dress do the talking as she sauntered down the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of Rachel Getting Married on Sept 15. The movie won’t be in theaters until Oct 3, but after its success at the Venice International Film Festival everyone is buzzing about Anne’s surprisingly gritty performance as a recovering drug addict. Anne took a chance with the role and it paid off for her, as she told the press, “I’m lucky to be a part of movies that seem to be impacting people and causing them to re-evaluate their lives or even how they think about things.” For the premiere, Anne rocked a flirty black and white frock with a tight strapless bodice and intricate, lacy detail on the body (for similar picks, try Zoa’s Leopard Bubble Dress in Leopard or LaROK’s Shabbona Zip Dress in Jet), jazzed up with sparkly pointy-toed heels and only classic red lipstick and diamond studs as her accessories (try Rachel Leigh’s Circle Stud Earrings in Crystal as a fun alternative to the real thing). Despite the subject of her latest film, Anne won’t be getting married anytime soon, as she is still taking time to heal after her break-up with Italian con-man Raffaello Follieri. Everyone is still trying to piece together what exactly happened, but Vanity Fair recently reported that Anne paid her bad beau’s rent for four months before his arrest, totaling almost $150k. You have to wonder what kind of excuse he must have given her to explain why he needed that much cash! The mag is also reporting that the night she broke up with him, Anne told her lover, “You were the love of my life… I’ll always love you. You know that, baby.” Anne then left the country and the feds stepped in to snatch her man shortly after. The only question remaining is whether or not she turned her man in and helped collaborate on his arrest. Do you think it’s plausible she was innocently blinded by love, or does it seem suspicious she covered for him then split the states on the eve of his arrest?
