Mary-Kate Olsen was caught by the paparazzi as she stepped out of a big black SUV in NYC's West Village on March 26, staying warm in the chilly weather by donning one of her furs. MK matched her bordeaux lipstick to the deep red hue of her fur coat, which she layered over a longer grey coat (like Bailey 44's Coller Coat in Heather Grey) and a long black t-shirt. Next Mary-Kate slipped into a pair of black skinny jeans (get the look with Chasely's Denim Legging in Overdye Black) and black leather boots (similar to Martha Davis' Superhero Short Boot in Black), while she toted along a worn-in tote (like Julie K Handbags' Robin Bag in Cognac) with her BlackBerry, keys, and a plastic cup of water. On a beauty note, I'm really liking MK's messily braided hair, but then again, no matter what hairstyle she's rocking its always bound to look a bit messy. A taupe manicure completed her look. Readers, weigh in. Do you think MKO looks stylish here, or is she walking the line of a costume? As you know, I am definitely Team Olsen, but totally appreciate hearing other points of view! A big two-page story in this Sunday's Los Angeles Times Image Section profiled fur in the fashion industry, and included both Mary-Kate and Ashley as contemporary style icons (along with Kate Moss, Diane Kruger, Kanye West, and Maggie Gyllenhaal) who "wear fur with abandon." The article says, "In fashion's inner circles, fur is still a mainstay. Fur seems to have recently taken on a much higher profile in the subculture that counts on designers, celebrities and actors to fill out its ranks." I know I've asked this before, but are you for wearing fur or against it?
