Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen showed up at the New York Film Festival - held at The Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in NYC on October 11 - to lend their support for little sis Elizabeth Olsen, whose film Martha Marcy May Marlene was being screened. The twins decided on mutually furry ensembles for their film festival appearance, and let's start with MK's look. Pairing a brown leather jacket with fur arms (for two options that remind me of MK's jacket, check out either BB Dakota's Hunter Leather Jacket in Cognac or Sachin + Babi for Ankasa's Svetlana Jacket in Brown) over a printed, colorful maxi (like Sky's Halter Deep V Maxi Dress in Wine), MK toted a black leather handbag from her handbag line for The Row. Dark eye shadow and taupe lips completed Mary-Kate's look. Ashley, on the other hand, exhibits a chic way to mix black with brown, as she wore a black fur coat (ditch the fur and opt for something more unique, such as Sue Wong's Pleated Multi-Tiered Coat in Black) over a black maxi (try The Battalion's Lace Maxi Tank Dress in Black) and carried a black The Row handbag. From there, a pair of brown crocodile slingbacks and minimal makeup completed Ashley's look. Which twin's style are you liking the most here, everyone? While Mary-Kate and Ashley's style may not be in everyone's taste, it's definitely very interesting to see that - just like us - they repeat outfits that they like. Take, for example, the printed maxi dress that MK is wearing here. Well, it seems as though she's so into this piece at the moment, that one public appearance in it simply wasn't enough. Mary-Kate donned this unique garment again six days later, at the New York Academy of Art's 20th annual Take Home a Nude benefit. The Oct 22 4:43 comment is not only mean-spirited, but INCORRECT. The Olsen twins DO use real fur in their high-end clothing lines, and they wear real fur. I don't care if they use real fur or not...I am for the ETHICAL TREATMENT OF PEOPLE...not so much concerned about animals...anyhow, I think their fashion sense is SUPERB but I agree that they look like "scared raccoons" in their pics...good one!!!
