FLASHDANCE FEVER

Heading out for a quick trip to the Westfield Shopping Center in Century City on October 8, Jessica Alba was working a very interesting 'fit while texting furiously as she headed back to her car. What would you caption this look - Flashdance meets frump? Jess started with a simple black tank (I love the neckline on Ella Moss' Parisienne Tank in Black) tucked into pleated trouser shorts (try Rails' more flattering Mila Shorts in Black) finished with a black skinny belt (try CC Skye's flashy Ashley Belt in Black) and a cabernet cardigan (like Splendid's Very Light Jersey Cardi in Sangria). For some reason she wore striped above the knee socks with slouchy black flat boots, a look I'm not feeling at all – do any of you wear your boots like this? When I first spotted this I thought she might be headed to some kind of dance or pilates class at the mall, but I'm not even sure if that exists and if it did, why would you wear hoop earrings to it? Jess topped off the 'fit with dark Wayfarer-esque shades and two shopping totes, again making me wonder what she's up to! Later in the day Jess was spotted hitting up the Fred Segal sale with baby Honor totting along, back to her usual tunic and leggings combo. Jess isn't known for being particularly friendly to the paps or the press, but I was still shocked to see some vicious rumors about Jessica and her daughter floating around on the blogosphere this week. Some very mean people are bashing not only Jessica's hair and fashion sense, but spreading rumors that Honor is autistic too. Say what you want about what she's wearing (I know I do!) but it's completely shameful to dispel these kinds of negative rumors about an innocent baby. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when you start slinging cruel insults at a baby – I mean really, don’t you have anything better to do? A few gossip sites are also reporting that Cash and Jess are on the rocks because "they're never together anymore" – ahem, meaning they've adapted to hiding from the cameras! I think Cash's avid Tweeting completely dispels these rumors: "Dad and daughter day. Rocked out in the car on way to Whole Foods. Now, how do I convince her that breadsticks alone don't make a meal?" followed by, "Kids grow up so dang fast! Jess just sent me a pic of Honor on set with her and she looks soooo old :) Where has the time gone??" Does that sound like an unhappy family to you?
