FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL PHOTOG

Turning the tables on the paparazzi, Kate Hudson picks up a camera of her own on September 7 as she drops Ryder off for his first day of school in Santa Monica, CA. Kate snapped a few photos for the scrapbooks, walking her son to the gate in a casual cropped sweater layered over a white tank (try reversing the color scheme with Qi New York's Sleeping Angel Imaginary Pocket Tank in Buttercup under Splendid's uber comfy Pullover Sweatshirt in Heather). Kate is already rocking trendy flare jeans for fall, which never really went out of style for her (try Hudson Jeans' modestly cut Signature Boot Cut in Buckingham or Denim of Virtue's Simplicity Flare in Vintage Blue). Kate paired her denim duds with flattering wedges, adding a four leaf clover charm necklace for good luck (check out Danielle Stevens' Lucky S in Gold). What do you think of Kate's sunny school day look? I'd like to tell her to throw on a bra in front of the kiddies next time, but otherwise I'm loving her laidback look. The start of the school year brings summer to an end for Kate, after spending the last few months jetting back and forth between London with her new beau, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy. Kate chatted about their budding romance and her thoughts on love in an interview with Elle: "I'll just see what happens. I think a lot of times people are terrified of love and stop themselves from experiencing it. I don't ever want to get that jaded. I do believe in love. I believe that when you really open yourself up to love, it's the most beautiful thing." Sounds like she's on to something!
