Soaking up the brilliant sunshine in Miami with a hefty dose of art and culture, Kirsten Dunst headed south for the Art Basel 2008 fair on Dec 4. Strolling with an icy Starbucks drink, Kiki tucked a black spaghetti strap tank (try PGD Style’s Fancy Tank in Black), sans bra, into a loose fitting white skirt (try Shumaq’s Linen Pencil Skirt in White) with strappy black flats. I immediately have to wonder, what’s up with the saggy, braless look? Did LiLo give her some style tips? Adding a couple of long pendant necklaces (check out Castaway’s Bone with Anchor Emblem Pendant Necklace in Gold with an angular necklace like Christie Martin’s personalized Long Tag Necklace in 14K Gold), tortoise shell Wayfarers and a woven hippie messenger bag (if you like canvas bags, try Antoinette Lee’s more refined Stella Tote in Striped Canvas), there seemed to be two contrasting themes going on in this ‘fit and I’m not loving it. It’s not that I don’t like Kirsten’s style; I just don’t get it. There are always clashing elements to her ‘fits, and it never makes sense – like the shoes and bag: cute separately, but not together. Whatever the occasion, Kiki almost always looks sloppy and unprepared. I have to wonder why this is so – is she just clueless when it comes to style, or does she really not care what she looks like or what anyone says about her? Such a mystery! Another mystery in Kiki’s life involves whether or not she’s dating Jacob Soboroff, the director she’s been working with making a documentary about the history behind the US presidential voting rules. The two took a trip to North Dakota together on Election Day to witness the only state that doesn’t require voter registration, and were spotted having a few lunch dates recently. Earlier this week Kiki’s publicist swiftly denied rumors the two are a couple, but an “insider” has confirmed they are definitely dating. Either way, Jacob is quite the smarty pants, getting his masters from NYU in political theory and philosophy and working as a commentator for a variety of news outlets. You have to wonder what draws him to a girl like Kiki? It’s a mystery…
