FASHION IS PAINFUL

Diane Kruger returned to Berlin on July 7 for the World of Calvin Klein event during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011, wearing a very plain yet chic ensemble emblematic of the refined CK aesthetic. Di opted for a starkingly simple white sheath dress (show off your tan in Rachel Pally's Caftan Dress in White, Splendid's simple Tank in White or Luc by Lucy's elegant Side Ruffle Sierra Dress) with a shiny black box clutch (similar to Whiting & Davis' Crystal Accents Minaudiere in Black). Diane allowed her chunky white platform heels to take the focus, polishing the look with bright berry lipstick and a messy knot sweeping her hair back. What do you think of Diane's simple style, does it work for her? With her model background, Di has become known as a fashion figure over the past few years, but it hasn't always been easy. She reveals to Allure magazine this month about a painful fashion experience she encountered at the Venice Film Festival in 2008: “I wore an haute couture gown and it had a full-on corset – it was gorgeous, but it was a runway piece, and it hadn’t been made for life. The bodice didn’t have one of those openings at the bottom. I nearly fainted because it was so tight, and I had to go to the bathroom so badly, but it would have taken an hour to get out of that dress,” She paused, and like a true fashionista continued: "But, it was so gorgeous!” She has a point!
