Getting all dolled up for the 2010 Costume Gala Benefit in New York City, Emma Roberts steps out of her chauffeured ride in a sophisticated black frock on May 3. Emma attended the event held at the Met to celebrate the opening of the new "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" collection, doing her best to look artsy in this all-black little number. Emma arrived in Marni head-to-toe for the evening, beginning with a custom-made fitted black mini with a jeweled belt and flouncy skirt (check out KEEMiA's Alena Dress in Black). The high neckline with the oversized bow seem a little frumpy to me, but the backless style lightens it up enough that I find this an appropriate look. Next, Em added sky high Mary Jane pumps (dazzle in Rock & Republic's edgy Alayna Chain Pump in Pewter), carrying a quirky black clutch (add a colorful twist with Inge Christopher's Curved Frame Pouch in Multi) and sweeping her hair back into a tight ballerina bun. Tres chic, non? After spending a few months filming in the city, Emma was excited to attend the epic fashion bash, tweeting from the event: “Met Ball tonight. Marni is epic! Made me the most fabulous dress. Lady GaGa may be the most epic performer EVER!!” Apparently "epic" was the word of the night! Who was your favorite best dressed celeb of the evening?
