Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson (born April 15, 1990) is a British actress who rose to prominence playing Hermione Granger, one of three starring roles in the Harry Potter film series. Watson was cast as Hermione at the age of nine, having previously only acted in school plays. From 2001 to 2007, she starred in five Harry Potter films alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint; she will return for the final three installments: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, due to be released in July 2009, and the two parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Watson's work on the Harry Potter series has earned her several awards and more than £10 million. In 2007, Watson announced her involvement in two non-Harry Potter productions: the made-for-television adaptation of the novel Ballet Shoes and an animated film, The Tale of Despereaux. Ballet Shoes was broadcast on 26 December 2007, to an audience of 5.2 million and The Tale of Despereaux, based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo, was released in 2008.

Emma Watson seen on Sep 08 2012 in Tortono, Canada. Emma Watson was photographed at the premiere of her newest flick The Perks of Being a Wallflower during the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, which was held at the Ryerson Theatre on September 8. One thing is for sure of Emma in her Erdem dress... she's definitely no wallflower! To get a striking look such as Emma's here, try pairing either Cynthia Steffe's Margot Ruffled Dress in Black/White or Indah's Smocked Bodice Dress in Chocolate with a statement cuff. Opt for one of Satya Jewelry's Medium Silver Woven Cuffs on each wrist! From there, a pair of classic pointed toe black pumps and stud earrings (like Avanessi's Large Stud Earrings in White Gold) should finish off your polished ensemble. On a beauty note, I am totally loving Emma's sleek hair and ruby red lip. What's your take on her red carpet look here, everyone - does it get a thumbs up or down from you? According to E! News, Emma causes quite a bit of trouble in Wallflower, and her bad girl regime is set to continue with her next role in the Sofia Coppola-directed film Bling Ring. According to Emma: "I do cause a reasonable amount of trouble in [Perks]. I do Rocky Horror, I ride around on the back of trucks, I don't take any drugs in this one, so that's good. But she's a free spirit, for sure! Yes, there's maybe one or two drugs in Bling Ring." Good girl gone bad!
Emma Watson seen on Sep 05 2012 in New York, NY. Emma Watson was spotted waving for fans and photogs as she leaves the taping of her appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in NYC on September 5, opting for a basic and beautiful look for the taping. Emma kept her look sleek and chic in a classic blazer-and-jeans number, which consisted of a white Tom Ford blazer (which is very similar to Robert Rodriguez's Canvas Jacket in Ivory) and J Brand's Low Rise Legging in Vox, along with a tucked in tank (try Free People's Seamless Scoop Tank in Black for a great basic) and a pair of black Tom Ford heels with gold chain detailing. A gold pendant necklace (like Jessica Elliot's Ornate Pendant in Vermeil) completed her outfit. On a beauty note, Emma kept her short locks super straight, and added a berry lip color. What's your take on EW's ensemble on this occasion, everyone? Pretty hard to think of anything negative to say, I think! In other Emma news, the Harry Potter starlet recently spoke out about how she thinks women should learn to love their curves. Says Emma: "’ve accepted my body shape more as I’ve got older. I went through a stage of wanting to have that straight-up-and-down model look, but I have curves and hips, and in the end you have to accept yourself as you are. I keep telling myself that I’m a human being, an imperfect human being who’s not made to look like a doll, and that who I am as a person is more important than whether at that moment I have a nice figure." Ok, is it just me, or do you not see curves or hips anywhere on Emma? If she wanted to have that "straight-up-and-down model look," I'd say she got what she wanted!
Emma Watson seen on Mar 14 2011 in Paris, France. Recent college absentee Emma Watson takes her work seriously while getting down to work on her Lancome ad campaign on the streets of Paris, France on March 14. Em was recently named the latest "ambassadress" of the cosmetics brand, beginning to shoot the campaign with famed photog Mario Testino later in the day following the official press release. Emma strutted onto the set in a feminine draped chiffon mini (try Sue Wong's Taffeta Petal Halter Dress in Champagne or Sue Wong's dramatic 3D Flower Applique Bubble Dress in Black/Ivory) with an edgy black moto jacket (like Tag Jeans' Mayfield Motorbike Jacket in Black) and a pair of open toe wrap booties (love the shape of Farylrobin's Beth Ankle Boot in Black). Emma's hair was styled slicked back with dramatic eyes and a berry stained pout, carrying a petite black clutch (like Whiting & Davis' Classic Facile Clutch in Black) as she strolled on set. What do you think of Emma's styled look, can you see it unfolding in a Lancome ad in your favorite mag this fall? As I mentioned at the beginning, Emma recently announced she's taking a break from her studies at Brown to focus on her career, sharing with fans: "As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible. I’ve decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree… it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought." Among her "other projects" includes her new gig with Lancome as well as designing a new eco-conscious line called Pure Threads with Alberta Ferreti, not to mention rumors she's being considered for numerous movie roles. Girl's got it going on! What do you think of her decision to put her studies on hold while she sorts out her professional life?
Emma Watson seen on Feb 14 2011 in London, UK. Elevating her style while at home for Valentine's Day, British fashionista Emma Watson shows off her trim figure in a sexy short Hakaan dress at the Elle Style Awards in London on February 14. At the event, designer Vivienne Westwood presented Emma with the Style Icon Award, which seems deserved in this daring mini with provocative cut-out details (show some skin in Carter's Fab Side View Dress in Taupe or Luc by Lucy's Cut Out Bella Dress in White). I like that the minimal length of the dress and revealing cut-out sides are balanced by the high neckline, but what are your thoughts on this look, can she pull it off? Emma accessorized with a gold wire cuff bracelet (check out Christie Martin Jewelry's Mod Cuff in Gold) and neutral patent pumps (like Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Taupe Patent), slicking her sophisticated pixie cut down with a side part. I'm on the fence about whether this works for her, so it's up to you readers to decide. I like that she's experimenting with ways to wear her short hair, but I'm not crazy about the plastered down effect she's got here. At the event Emma chatted with ELLEuk.com about her hairy future: “I’m kind of looking forward to getting to a cute little bob stage. I am trying to grow it but it’s slow, it’s taking a while obviously." She continued, “If I want to keep acting, it’s more flexible for me to have it longer for different roles, it’s quite a specific cut.” It doesn't seem to be affecting her much as she just landed a role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and was just named the new face of Lancome, but hey, whatever length keeps her happy!
Emma Watson seen on Feb 11 2011 in London, UK. Emma Watson works the sidewalk like a runway after a night of dancing at Mahiki nightclub back in her native London on February 11. Em is no longer the official face of Burberry, but she's definitely giving the label a boost in this svelte trench with edgy black leather sleeves (try out the trench-as-a-dress look with a form fitting coat like Suzabelle's Greenstreet Wool Coat in Black/Cream or Nanette Lepore's vibrant waist cinching Trench in Magenta). Emma carried a camel minaudiere (like Inge Christopher's Donatella Honey Leather Clutch in Dark Copper) and paired her sleek trench with a pair of black patent pumps (check out Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Black Crocco). What are your thoughts on Emma's look, is it appropriate for a night out at the club? I'm still loving her pixie cut, it adds a great level of sophistication to classic looks like this. Emma is back home in London this week for the British Academy Film Awards, attending Harvey Weinstein's pre-BAFTA soiree celebrating Colin Firth and The King's Speech earlier in the evening before heading out for drinks at the nearby nightclub. Em became acquainted with the Hollywood mogul with her recent role in Weinstein produced My Week with Marilyn, which stars Michelle Williams as the iconic Ms. Monroe. Harvey was nice enough to escort Emma out of the club through a throng of autograph-seekers, but it looks like she isn't too pleased with his company in these photos. Emma's a big girl, don't you think she can handle herself?
Emma Watson seen on Jan 08 2011 in Los Angeles, CA. Doing her best to fly under the radar, Emma Watson covers her pixie cut with a black fedora as she arrives at LAX Airport to catch a flight home on January 8. Em flew west the week before just in time for NYE celebrations, but like her departure kept a low profile during her LA stay. On her way home, Emma dressed casually in a floral printed mini with a tucked in tank (try Splendid's basic Layers Tank in White with Ella Moss' fun printed Cobra Skirt in Charcoal) topped with a professional blazer (love the angled shoulder on Tt Collection's Dylan in Black), stirrup leggings (stay comfy in Hale Bob Lounge's Basic Legging in Black) and classic black ballet flats. Lastly, Emma carried a black zippered tote (try Alexander Wang's sassy Angela Small Pouchette) as she made her way towards the terminal. What do you think of Emma's casual look, do you like the way she's playing up the basics? Em has until the end of the month before classes resume at Brown University, so I have a feeling she's heading back to London to wrap up the final Harry Potter reshoots while she has a break in her schedule. She definitely isn't dressed for the frigid east coast we've been enduring! While Emma recently spoke out that with her hectic schedule, she has no time for a boyfriend, I'm sure she had a laugh when she found out she and Rupert Grint top Forbes' list of highest-grossing on-screen couples in the past 10 years. Their romance developed over the six film franchise, and after the last installment is released this summer, it's expected the entire franchise will have grossed over $7 billion total. Eat your heart out, Twihards!
Emma Watson seen on Dec 31 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Fresh faced after a long flight from London, Emma Watson looks happy to be back in the US after touching down at Los Angeles International Airport on December 31. With her daring pixie cut freshly touched up, Em strolled out of the terminal in a casual wintery look, starting with comfy black flats (I love Farylrobin's quirky Gladys Mary Jane Flat in Black), black skinny jeans (can't go wrong with J Brand's classic 901 Legging in Pitch), and a black and white top mixing stripes and polka dots (keep it casual with Gold Hawk's Stripe Square Tee in Black/White). Emma topped off the look with a navy peacoat (I'm sure she would approve of Burning Torch's eco-friendly Long Recycled Cashmere Jacket in Navy), traveling with light luggage for her New Year's stay in LA. What do you think of her casual cold weather style? I don't know how you feel about her hair now that the initial shock has passed, but I still feel this is a look that works for her features. She's got a cute little mod thing going on with the coat and flats, IMO. Emma likes to keep her fans abreast of her travels when she's not bogged down with school, and after returning home from Brown University the Harry Potter starlet took to her Facebook account to touch base with fans: "Hi guys, are you all ready for Christmas? Not long to go now... Exams all done and I’m back in the UK in 6 inches of snow. Currently at Leavesden filming reshoots with Dan and Rupert. Feels strange to be back!" When I first saw the end of her comment, I thought she was saying it feels strange to be back in the US – but apparently she's growing quite used to her new home! Did any of you have a chance to return to your hometowns over the holiday break?
Emma Watson seen on Nov 15 2010 in New York, NY. Taking the Harry Potter press tour across the pond, Emma Watson makes a glamorous exit from the Ed Sullivan Theatre after taping an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" in NYC on November 15. Emma and her HP co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint are now in the Big Apple for the premiere and a slew of promotions surrounding their new flick, which is the second to last in the Harry Potter franchise and will be out in theatres this Friday. Emma stepped out of the studio wrapped up in a chic military trench (opt for Suzabelle's Darfield Jacket in Charcoal or Walter's Double Breasted Sailor Coat in Black) carrying a studded tote over her arm, which she later ditched for a petite black and gold clutch (try starting with Rough Roses' Angelina Studded Handbag in Black and slipping Julie K's Sasha in Black inside). Satin pumps complete Emma's sophisticated look, which is definitely perfected with her new pixie 'do. Not everyone can pull off the dramatic short look, but I definitely think it's working for her – thoughts? Now that her time as Hermoine is almost wrapped, Emma is taking her career in a new direction: fashion. Her passion began developing with a brief stint as a face of Burberry, and after designing a fair trade capsule collection for People Tree it looks like Emma will be expanding her fashion reach. In a recent interview Em shared that she'll be collaborating with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti, as she explains: "She wrote to me and said, 'I saw what you did with People Tree and I think it's a great idea and will you do something with me?'" How flattering! Emma continued: "I will put it out there that I will work for anyone for free if they are prepared to make their clothing fair trade organic." I can only wish everyone had the means to follow their passions for free!
Emma Watson seen on Nov 11 2010 in London, UK. Going glam on the red carpet, Emma Watson is a knock-out at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I in London on November 11. Now at the start of her second year of college at Brown University, Emma is definitely making the point that she's not a little school girl anymore in this racy lacy LBD. Em strutted the red carpet with co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint at her side, striking a pose in her saucy Rafael Lopez mini dress with a bra revealing lace bodice and flirty feathered skirt (get the look with Sue Wong's Beaded Black/Gold Feather Dress in Black/Gold or the Deco Beaded Slip Dress in Black) paired with glossy black pumps. I'm sure the mothers of Harry Potter fans are fainting in shock over this one! This is Emma's first time debuting her new short hair in public, and she's showing off the cut with dangling onyx earrings here (try Michele Michel's Wreath Earrings in Silver), putting a finishing touch on her ensemble with a sparkly cocktail ring (opt for Amrita Singh's Baker Ring in Gunmetal). What do you think of Emma's grown up look, does she pull off the revealing style or is it too cheeky? It definitely looks like this normally pasty lady has had a trip to the spray tan salon in anticipation of her premiere! I'm loving that she's taking a chance here – afterall, at one time or another she has to make the point that she's not a kid anymore. Thoughts? With the highly anticipated release of the first part of the last installment in the HP franchise, Emma has been giving fans little bits of info on what's to come. However, during one interview she went a little too far with a subtle jab at rivaling franchise Twilight, in reference to the scene in which Emma and co-star Rupert Grint finally smooch: "This kiss between Hermione and Ron is highly anticipated, it's been building up for eight films now. And Harry Potter is not Twilight, you know; we're not selling sex. So, whenever there is any hint of that, everybody gets terribly excited. In fact, it was horribly awkward; we couldn’t stop laughing." Oooh – better not upset the TwiHards with that little dig, Emma! Too be honest, I don't think she meant anything except to make the point that HP is G-rated, but what do you think, is there a little jealousy going on here?
Emma Watson seen on Aug 25 2010 in London, UK. Taking her cute pixie cut to the streets, Emma Watson was back in her native London for dinner with some pals on August 25. Em and her chums dined at Café Pacifico in Covent Garden before heading to the ultra hip Bungalow 8 for some late night fun. Emma won't be able to legally get into a club like this once she heads back to school at Brown in a week or two, and it looks like she's enjoying the freedom – note the disheveled buttoning of the cardi! For her night out Em went for a very casual, vintage vibe with a ditsy floral French Connection mini dress (I'm loving Amberlynn's Darling Dee Day Dress in Floral Print or Boulee's Dolores Tube Dress in Bouquet as alternate girly options) warmed up by the aforementioned cropped cardi (try Splendid's Shadow Stripe Knit Cardi in Heather, just take extra care to button straight!) and indigo jeggings (work the fall trend with Joe's Jeans' 25" Jegging in Juliett). Emma kept the look conservative with ivory flats, adding a quirky floral printed bag (I'm drooling over Whiting & Davis' new Florentine Shopper in Multi). What are your thoughts on her laidback look, is it too casual for night or does it suit her? I'm still blown away by the super short locks – such a cute, different look for her, I hardly recognize her! Emma's new campaign for her People Tree Fall 2010 collection was just released, and although they were shot before she chopped off her hair I'm excited to see her succeeding in more than just the Harry Potter franchise. Em admitted in a recent interview she hasn't been the one sketching behind the scenes as the line came to life, but she did travel to Bangladesh to scope out fabrics for the line and ensure Fair Trade practices were put in place: “I still find it hard to convey what Fair Trade means to those producing our fashion — it’s just so impressive to see how the women have used Fair Trade clothing to escape poverty and empower themselves and their children. I was moved and inspired.” Are any of you inspired to look for Fair Trade and organic labels when browsing the racks?
Emma Watson seen on Aug 13 2010 in London, UK. The lovely Emma Watson can't hide her excitement for the return of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I in this new promo shot at the revealing of the "100 Days to Go" promo poster in London on August 13. In the campaign to get fans excited about the final flicks, Emma will be posting videos and sponsoring Facebook competitions to in anticipation of the release of the final two parts of the HP saga. This sighting marks Emma's first dolled up appearance with her new shorn locks, looking like quite the spunky pixie while posing with some promo premiere fliers. Em dressed casually for her press appearance in a lacy romper (check out Isabel Lu's classy Ruffled Cap Sleeve Romper in Black or Single Dress' Scoop Neck Shift in Black/Natural) and black patent flats (like Coye Nokes' Amelia Ballet Flat in Black Embossed Python), wearing a pair of teardrop earrings (love Michele Michel's Onyx Disco Ball Earrings in Silver) to highlight her newly exposed neckline. What are your thoughts on her new look, are you about to throw out some Mia Farrow comparisons like the rest of her critics? For those of you (and me!) who've grown up with Harry Potter slowly evolving through books and movies, it's kind of surreal to see the end of the series coming so fast. Emma expressed her own awe in an interview with the cast for Entertainment Weekly: "It was bizarre… Walking onto set that day, there was this incredibly thick atmosphere, it felt like a moment in history - it felt really big." It is the end of an era! With Emma's new haircut, it's official there won't be any re-shoots for the end of the iconic films capturing the magic of the world of wizardry. Are any of you going to miss seeing what happens next with Hermione, Ron and the whole Harry Potter crew?
Emma Watson seen on Aug 04 2010 in New York, NY. Stepping out with a glam new 'do, Emma Watson hails a cab in New York City with a friend on August 4. She's in the Big Apple doing some preliminary press for her near final appearance as Hermoine in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 before she returns to school at Brown University this fall. Enjoying the warm summer day, Emma headed out in a casual striped tank (love the pocket detail on Isabel Lu's Striped Pocket Button Down Tank in Black/White with cropped khaki pants (check out Joe's Jeans' Pleated Crop in Pebble), pounding the pavement in neutral ballet flats (love the subtle texture of Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Flat in Sabbia Embossed Python). Emma accessorized with a petite charm necklace (add a quirky touch like Danielle Stevens' Lucky-S in Gold) and toted a few shopping bags as she made her way around the city. Besides her work obligations, Em is also in town for an exciting new haircut! As a treat to herself after wrapping the last film in the Harry Potter franchise, Emma let her hairstylist Rodney Cutler chop off her locks last week. She indulged on how it was, "the most liberating thing… The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing. I love it.” So bold! She continued, “I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through. I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, ‘Right. This is it.’” What do you think of Em's sassy new look? Can't wait to see more shots!
Emma Watson seen on Jun 25 2010 in Somerset, England. Enjoying a break from classes and filming, Emma Watson checks out Day 3 of the Glastonbury Music Festival with a few friends on June 26 in Somerset, England. Having recently wrapped shooting Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Em let loose at the outdoor festival, rocking a super casual, 90's inspired look. Starting with cut-off high waist denim shorts (love Joe's Jeans' Ex Lover Flap Short in Shane or 7 For All Mankind's Boyfriend Short with Crochet in Adara Blue) with a tucked-in white button down shirt (love the low cut, embellished style of Free People's Sleeveless Tunic in White), Emma cinched the look with a fabulous leopard print belt. Trekking around in plain lace-up sneaks, Em carried a small Louis Vuitton messenger pouch (love the texture of Linea Pelle's Dylan Perforated Disco Clutch in Suntan) and added a few colorful bracelets in addition to her VIP wristbands (add a fun pop of color to any 'fit with Amrita Singh's Threaded Bangle Set in Multi). What do you think of Emma's casual throwback look, are the jeans a do or don’t? At the festival Emma mingled with friends including new bf George Craig, whom she met during the Burberry shoot where they both appeared in ads for the iconic British brand. After the two were spotted holding hands the first day of the festival, Em confessed they are indeed dating, and shared how she got together with the "One Night Only" frontman: “We’ve been friends since the Burberry shoot. And when I was in the states, George was taking me through a lot of his music as he was recording it. I couldn’t believe [how good the music was]. I’m a big fan. Everything he did was amazing.” I guess she's moved on from her last beau! Do you think Emma will be able to make it work after she returns to Brown in the fall?
Emma Watson seen on May 26 2010 in London, UK. Happy to be back in London for the summer, Emma Watson attends the 2010 National Movie Awards at the Royal Festival Hall on May 26. Emma hopped onstage with co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright to accept the family film trophy for their work in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, bringing the crew together once again. For her onstage photo op, Ms. Watson picked a grown up Karl Lagerfeld mini with a black and white speckled print design, featuring black mesh cutouts at the waist and neckline (if you love the black and white look try Luc by Lucy's Cut Out Bella Dress in White or Boulee's Liv Bustier Dress in White). Emma added some height with her strappy Christian Louboutin platforms (check out Coye Nokes' Joan Bootie in Black Embossed Python) and added a little sparkle with Chanel stud earrings (CC Skye's Pave Pyramid Stud Earrings in Silver will add modest shine to any look). What are your thoughts on this look, readers, does she pull it off? Cut-outs seem to be all the rage this season, and while I'm not thrilled that the midriff look is coming back I like the way this looks on Emma. What are your thoughts on this resurfacing trend, are you baring it all for summer or is this look coming back a little fast for you too?
Emma Watson seen on May 04 2010 in New York, NY. Heading back to Rhode Island after a brief trip to NYC, Emma Watson catches a flight out of JFK International Airport on May 4. The actress turned co-ed make a special trip to the Big Apple for the MET Ball Costume Institute Gala Benefit earlier this week, dazzling in a custom-made Burberry gown while working the room as a guest of Christopher Bailey, the creative force behind the iconic brand. Taking a more casual influence on her way back to school, Emma wore a sheer aqua printed top (check out Ella Moss' Taffy V Neck Top in Agua) with super skinny indigo jeans (similar to 7 For All Mankind's Gwenevere Gummy in Indigo) and tan woven sandals (love Gwyneth Shoes' Kenzie in Tan, available in 3 shades). Emma added some casual accessories, wearing a leather wrap bracelet (like Linea Pelle's Gold Flat Studded Double Bracelet in Olive) with a messenger bag slung across her torso (check out Linea Pelle's ultra organized Dylan Disco Clutch in Espresso) and classic Wayfarers shielding her from the sun. What do you think of Em's casual 'fit, it is college appropriate or do you think the white bra underneath is a little tacky? Emma's first year at Brown University is now coming to a close, and the young Harry Potter star chatted with Vanity Fair about her experience becoming a "normal" college student: “I was scared before I came to Brown—that I wasn’t going to be allowed to have both [a career and a normal life]. People would think that I didn’t deserve to have both. [I was afraid they'd think], You’re famous. You’re given free handbags. Why should you deserve to be normal?” Besides jetting off for a few high profile fashion events, it sounds like Em has made an easy transition into the college life, even taking a few acting classes. Her humble nature definitely hasn't changed, as she insisted: "“I think actually I’m the worst person in the class.” Doubtful!
Emma Watson seen on Mar 25 2010 in New York, NY. Super studious Emma Watson embarks to New York while on spring break from Brown University on March 25. The gorgeous collegiate played hostess at the LONDON show ROOMS soiree at Pulinos Bar and Pizzeria, representing London designer Christopher Kane in a flirty frock from his Fall 2010 collection. Emma's sexy LBD has a corset-like bodice with lace side panels and yoke, with bright floral embroidery around the hem and sleeves (Walter's Color Block Lace Dress in Black/Turquoise and Soul Revival's Melinda Bubbling Flowers Dress in Black are two gorgeous revivals). Emma paired black Casadei pumps with femme pink bows and carried a bronze bubble clutch (Whiting & Davis' Large Pouch Clutch in Bronze is a great accent). Em stayed true to her girl-next-door looks with minimal make-up and glossy straightened tresses, proving the college life hasn't changed her too much – for the time being! What do you think of Emma's high fashion 'fit? After her quick trip to NYC, Em headed back to her native England for the remainder of her spring break vacay. It's been a quiet couple of months since Emma set off for university in the US, and from the looks of it she's nowhere near becoming a binge-drinking, party-hopping teenager along the lines of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. In fact I'd even say she looks much healthier now that she's taking a break from long hours on set! What are your thoughts on Em's classy appearance here?
Emma Watson seen on Mar 08 2010 in Providence, Rhode Island. Smarty pants Emma Watson stays cozy and casual while walking to class at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island on March 8. Em is now in her second semester at the Ivy League school and from the looks of it she's hitting the books pretty hard! Emma headed to class in rich blue jeggings (like Paige Premium Denim's Verdugo Jegging in June Lake), silver sneaks and a striped white tank (just like Splendid's Navy Stripe Tank in White). Em stayed warm in a puffy white jacket (Suzabelle's Lark Wool Jacket in Crème is a cozy grown-up version) and a black plaid scarf, later changing into cropped moccasin boots (get comfy in Koolaburra's Double Fringe Short Boot in Chestnut) and a chambray button down while running errands post-class. From her Burberry days Em's style has definitely taken a sharp turn to Casualville, but for all the times she said she wanted to have a normal college experience I think her new style is about as student-next-door as it gets! Like so many college girls, Emma went off to school with a super serious boyfriend, financier Jay Barrymore. Now that the second semester is well underway, word is Em has already split with her long distance lover, and not surprisingly rumors are already flying about her new love. A "source" (aka campus gossip) dished to the UK's Daily Mail: “Emma has been spending a lot of time with [fellow student and musician] Rafael Cebrian and they are virtually inseparable. Rafael belongs to the Production Workshop, a student-run theater group at Brown. He’s been acting with them since he moved to the US, and he has got Emma involved." Apparently they're very involved – last week Emma starred in the student-run production of "Three Sisters," acting in a string of performances that are free for the student body. How much do you wish you were still in school to have a chance to see Em take the stage!
Emma Watson seen on Sep 21 2009 in London, UK. Who says you can't skip a few days of school for London Fashion Week? Emma Watson was spotted landing at Heathrow on Sept 20, arriving appropriately dressed in college sweats and a vintage "I Heart NY" tee. She re-emerged on Tuesday at the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2010 show, looking strikingly glamorous in a tinsel-like canary mini with a black braided belt and coordinating black leather platforms (get the glitzy look with VOOM by Joy Han's playful Starlet Bubble Sleeve Dress in Orange or the Metallic Mini in Bronze, or get happy with Alice + Olivia's bright Floral Poof Dress in Yellow with a contrasting belt like Motif 56's Elise Croc Belt in Black). I confess I'm not feeling the fabric that much, but I think the gold front zipper saves it from being a total failure – thoughts? This style was at the core of the new collection, and Emma's sexy heels also appeared on the runway in a few shades. I know the "hooker heel" trend is hot this fall but it seems like the public (and myself!) have yet to embrace it, until I saw these gorgeous picks. For me, the twist detail on the front straps and at the ankle give the shoes an element of sophistication that is usually lost with platforms over 3 inches. Well done, Emma! While she'll have a little catching up to do at school, I'm sure it was worth it for Emma to score on the latest fashions during her week at home – not to mention sitting next to Gwyneth Paltrow during the show! Other A-listers in attendance included Anna Wintour, Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss, so I'm sure Emma felt privileged just to be in the room! After all, following in Kate's footsteps (hopefully not too far!) she is the latest face of Burberry, and this show marked a momentous occasion: the first show Burberry has held in London in the past decade – resurrected on account of London Fashion Week's 25th anniversary celebration, of course. Hmm, wonder what Emma's professors at Brown will think?
Emma Watson seen on Sep 05 2009 in Providence, Rhode Island. Emma Watson picks up a frappechino with her parents at Starbucks in Providence, Rhode Island on Sept 5 while getting settled in at Brown University over the weekend. British beau Jay Barrymore was also spotted on campus with the newly enrolled Harry Potter starlet. She looks like she fits in perfectly with her preppy striped sweater (live in luxury with Autumn Cashmere's Rugby Striped Capsleeve Sweater in Black/Bleach or the Striped U Neck Sweater in Mouse Milk), cuffed shorts (like 1921 Jean's Cuff Short Short in Medium) and eco-friendly book bag (try Zambos and Siega's Go Green Tote in Beige). I can't tell if she's wearing a silver cuff or a hair elastic, but Christie Martin's Love Bangle in Sterling Silver is an adorable accent that can be personalized too. What do you think of Emma's back to school look? While she gets settled, Emma continues to live the life of book worm Hermoine: “It sounds so geeky, but I really do like studying and reading, and if I’m not working on Harry Potter, then my greatest relaxation is to sit with a book. That’s how I escape stress — in literature. I always have several books on the go at any one moment.” Who knew smart could be so chic?
Emma Watson seen on Aug 19 2009 in London, UK. Taking London's unseasonable summer heat in stride on a walk with her beau, Emma Watson looked like your average girl next door while taking a stroll on August 19 with boyfriend Jay Barrymore. The couple picked up cold drinks while browsing a few shops, where Emma ended up with the book she's holding Inspired by Music. While Emma has been sculpting a pleasant sartorial image for herself in Burberry and Karl Lagerfeld's circles, this breezy summer 'fit is quite the opposite of sophistication. The tank jumper dress is cute (opt for a more flattering fit like Splendid's Pocket Tank Dress in Heather or Rails' breezy Pamela Dress in White) but I wish she was wearing better undergarments, or standing up straighter – one way or the other something unflattering is going on! Emma stayed true to her preppy style with buckled loafers and a plain skinny bracelet on her left wrist (try Citrine by the Stones' Wire Bangle in Silver), leaving her hair more or less natural while enjoying the summer sunshine. Definitely not one of her better days but I think Emma looks cute and carefree – any naysayers? While Emma makes the move from London to the U.S. at the end of this month to start college at Brown, there are also rumors she may be trying out her entrepreneurial skills soon. If you recall she vehemently denied any desire to design in her WWD feature in July: “I’m really not interested in doing it for my own ego. I’m not a designer. If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I’d consider it, but not just [to be able to say] ‘Look at me! I’ve got my own line!’” Rumors still persist she is collaborating with fair-trade line People Tree on a juniors offshoot line with proceeds benefiting UNICEF. While it is a little too soon for her to change her mind about designing, she did say she'd consider doing something for charity! She also expressed interest in fair-trade clothing to British Elle in June: “I’m really interested in fair-trade fashion and organic cotton, but it’s hard because, to be honest, the stuff’s kind of ugly or really plain." I'd love to see what kind of not-so-ugly or plain creations Emma could come up with, but her rep has officially put the brakes on any further rumors: "Emma supports many fair-trade organizations but has no formal relationship with any company." Playing the field – I like it!
Emma Watson seen on Jul 09 2009 in New York, NY. The fashion world's newest darling, Emma Watson, was spotted turning heads and impressing countless sartorial admirers at the NYC premiere of her new film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last night, July 9, held at the Ziegfeld Theatre in Manhattan. Previously spotted in stunning choices from Rodarte and vintage Ossie Clark, Watson chose a dress from Proenza Schouler's Resort 2010 Collection with a haltered black leather bodice and attached white skirt for the NYC premiere. A daring and risque frock, Emma's genuine sweetness and ease kept the look from being overkill. I have to commend the young Ms. Watson, who seems to have made the fashion world take notice of her impeccable style almost overnight, for her looks have been sophisticated, tasteful, and above all, effortless. To get Emma's look here, try combining several key pieces strategically for a unified look, a la Proenza Schouler. Start with a dramatic top (I love Gold Hawk's embellished Chevron Top in Moonless Night) tucked into a clean white skirt (try Joe's Jeans' Ollie Skirt in White) and belt it with a nude belt (Motif 56's Piper Belt in Natural), and then accessorize with strappy criss-cross heels and a vibrant turquoise ring (like Rachel Leigh Jewelry's Enamel Ring in Blue). Finish off your look with fresh and youthful makeup with a pale pink lip and slate grey eyes, and you'll be red carpet ready. Emma recently told Teen Vogue that she hasn't been working with a stylist, because "there's nothing interesting about looking perfect." What do you think of Emma's look here - as well as on the carpet the past few days? Are you as impressed as I am?
Emma Watson seen on Jul 09 2009 in New York, NY. I was so blown away by Emma Watson's fabulous red carpet looks during the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince publicity tour that I almost missed her appearance on CBS's "The Early Show" in NYC on July 9. I just can't get enough of her fabulous style! Over the past few month's she's proved she can be sophisticated, sexy, youthful, and more – whatever the occasion demands, she's lived up to it with maturity beyond her 19 years. Appearing on "The Early Show" the morning of the big HP premiere, Emma chose to wear her heart on her sleeve – ahem, purse – with a perfectly fitting Chanel Union Jack bag and fiery red Saloni Alexia tiered dress (stand out in Catherine Maladrino's Belted Dress in Grenadine or try Joie's fun printed More Than This Dress in Admiral). Showing the Lagerfeld love with sexy Chanel Resort 2009 cage boots, Emma wore a simple black charm necklace (reminds me of the shape of Castaway's Black Onyx Skull Necklace in Jewelry) and wore her hair in tousled just-rolled-out-of-bed waves. Love that it all works together without looking too matchy-matchy, and the strappy boots are the perfect touch. At first the dress seemed plain to me, until I noticed the chiffon sleeves and oversized buttons on the cuff – it's very British and suits her perfectly, don't you think? Since Daniel Radcliffe let Emma's college choice (Brown University) slip during the Harry Potter photo call, Emma has been fielding all sorts of questions about what her college experience will be like. Defending her decision to keep things quiet, Emma spoke out: “I am looking forward to being a normal teenager and want a normal experience for a bit. Just a little bit of normality for a while would be nice. If I’m going to do this experience, I’m going to do it properly and going to do it like everyone else.” Is that a bit of smarty-pants Hermoine rubbing off on her? Apparently, Emma wants to be so normal so badly she's actually choosing to live in the dorms when she could easily afford to buy her own luxury apartment nearby. Do you think she'll change her mind?
Emma Watson seen on Jul 06 2009 in London, UK. Fulfilling her promotional duties for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in London this week, the ever adorable Emma Watson posed with co-stars Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe at a photocall held at the Claridge Hotel on July 6. Despite the recent reports that Rupert was in bed with swine flu last week, Emma doesn't seem to mind cozying up to him! I just can't help but love her sophisticated style at events like these – she always seems to get it right. For the casual photo op, Emma chose a sleeveless Proenza Schouler Resort 2010 dress with a stunning jeweled bib collar. Try creating the look yourself with a tank like Autumn Cashmere's Foil Print Tank in Limestone Silver tucked into a skirt like Joe's Jeans Ollie Skirt in White, complemented by a collar necklace like Kuo Ting's Japanese White and Grey Pearl Necklace in Gold or add a pop of color with Castaway's Mauritius Necklace in Multi. Giuseppe Zanotti gladiator platforms in a similar shade complete Emma's afternoon look – so chic! What do you think of 19 year-old Emma's style? Emma put her style in her own words for the August issue of Teen Vogue: "It’s very hard to describe your own style and I’m young, so I’m still experimenting. But I think it’s quite British and very much about individuality. There’s nothing interesting about looking perfect—you lose the point. You want what you’re wearing to say something about you, about who you are.” Emma will be doing a lot of Harry Potter promoting as the July 15 release date gets closer, and I can't wait to see how she'll continue to define her personal style. If you can't get enough Harry Potter, read up on the new movie and check out stills here, and get ready for the London and NYC premieres this week!
Emma Watson seen on Jun 03 2009 in London, UK. Who’s that trendy new girl on the block? I’m having trouble picturing her as anything other than her annoyingly smart Harry Potter persona, but Emma Watson has grown into quite a sophisticated young lady! Attending a private dinner for Rodarte at Harvey Nichols in London on June 3, Emma worked the sidewalk like a runway as she gracefully made her way from her ride to the party. Selecting a chic frock infused with elements of rock n’ roll with a draped azure sash, tie-dye and netting skirt and a seductive sheer bodice straight off the Rodarte Spring 2009 runway, Emma paired the glamorous dress with sophisticated white and black Chanel heels from the Spring 2009 collection (if you love the look try CoutureCandy’s options like Tricia Fix’s similarly draped Angelina Cocktail Dress in Black or Prairie New York’s beautiful blue Eden Dress in Fountain or the Stone Cami Dress in Fountain). Tres chic! What do you think of the way Emma styled it versus the edgy runway look? While she looks fabulous at this event, mingling with fashionista celebs including Kate Bosworth, it’s surprising to see for her age this isn’t the only high profile fashion circle Emma runs in these days: the 19 year old star was recently named the new face of Burberry, and also had the opportunity to pose for French fashion mag Crash in a spread directed by Karl Lagerfeld. She gushed to the magazine about spending the day with the man behind Chanel, “This was a dream come true… We spent the whole day together and he can talk about anything - literature, art, science, modern culture. I was totally seduced.” When did Emma Watson stop being an awkward teen a turn into such a sophisticated little lady? I’m really quite impressed! What do you think of her transformation?
