Getting ready for a big day in NYC, Katy Perry steps out to promote the release of her new album on August 24. In contrast to her provocative, nearly nude shots taken for the Teenage Dream album cover and the recent Rolling Stone spread, Katy keeps things simple n' sweet here in a floral mini dress showing off her curves (try Black Halo's Jackie O Floral Mini in Print or Shumaq's Isa Dress in Black) topped with a fuzzy pink cardi reminiscent of the cotton candy clouds she's been floating on lately (get the look for fall with Elizabeth Gillett's Henrietta in Plum). Katy broke up the look with a black belt cinching her waist (like Julie K's Tess Belt in Black), completing the look with glossy curls and plum peeptoe pumps (put a unique twist on the peeptoe with Farylrobin's Jessica in Luggage). What are your thoughts on KP's look here, does it suit her former church-going persona or is it too sticky sweet? Despite her cover headlines "Sex, God and Katy Perry," inside the Rolling Stone interview KP dwelled on her Twitter comments denouncing "blasphemy as entertainment" after viewing Lady Gaga's video for "Alejandro." Katy explained her views to the mag: "I am sensitive to Russell [Brand] taking the Lord's name in vain and to Lady Gaga putting a rosary in her mouth. I think when you put sex and spirituality in the same bottle and shake it up, bad things happen." She continued, "Lately, I've just been seeing some things that are kind of like, I don't know, in my own personal feelings, a little bit like not something I would do, I guess. Yes, I said I kissed a girl. But I didn't say I kissed a girl while f---ing a crucifix." Touché, KP! What do you think of her standing on this issue?
