Revealing a somewhat surprising friendship, Kristen Bell and Hilary Duff flashed smiles for the photogs at the grand opening of the Avakian Boutique at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Gills on Dec 4, giggling like schoolgirls despite their 7 year age difference. The new boutique location specializes in colored diamond jewelry and is known for its intricate settings – hint hint, Dax Shepard! Wearing a gorgeous fitted azure frock that looks to be one of Hervé Léger’s bandage dresses, KB flaunted her tush in the tight fitting tank dress (check out similar options like Walter’s Silk Jersey Ruched Sexy Dress in Cobalt or Black Halo’s Racer Back Dress with Pockets in Jade) and opted for low-key nude slingback peep-toes to complement the frock. Adding a silver chain bracelet (like Christie Martin’s Disc and Tag Bracelet in Sterling Silver) as her only accessory, Kristen’s look is simple yet refined, and props to her toned physique – is it possible that 28 year old KB looks like she’s in better shape than 21 year old Hil? The only thing I might change would be her hair – adding some looser waves or maybe bringing back the bangs would’ve lightened up her look a bit. What do you think? For all of you “Heroes” fans, did you catch Kristen’s final episode as Elle Bishop last week? KB’s character won’t be reappearing in the show, and Entertainment Weekly writer Michael Ausiello commented on her departure this week: “Kristen's return was never meant to be long term, so she was leaving one way or the other. But as I hinted in last week's AA, I wasn't expecting her exit to be so permanent. And it is permanent. Unlike 90 percent of the deaths on Heroes, this one will stick. Ironic, no?” Fortunately for fans, you won’t have to wait for long to see Kristen reappear on the big screen. KB has several projects lined up for next year, including When in Rome, Couples Retreat and talks of a “Veronica Mars” movie moving forward. Rob Thomas, producer of the show that made Kristen famous, has already started outlining the script and is hoping to finish it over the holidays with plans to start production talks in 2009.
