Diane Kruger seen on Sep 22 2013 in New York, NY. Diane Kruger was photographed making her way around NYC on September 22, while chatting on her phone as she went on about her day. Outfit wise, Diane started her casual street style ensemble with a white sweater that, upon closer inspection, has one black sleeve that is also partially printed. For a similar, all-white option, take a look at Splendid's Nolita Rib Sweater in Snow. From there, she slipped into a pair of cuffed boyfriend jeans (take your pick between Joe's Jeans' Slouchy Ankle Jean in Beckanne or Sold Design Lab's Ann Straight Paper Bag Jean) and wore a pair of Miu Miu sunglasses. Her trusty Hermes bag and a pair of d'orsay flats (Report's Silverton Flats in Cognac have a similar shape) provided the finishing touches to DK's outfit. What are your thoughts, readers - is this a look you would wear for running errands in the fall? In other Diane news, her hit FX series "The Bridge" has officially been renewed for a second season! According to Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions: "We’ve been blown away by the compelling performances of Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger and the writing of Meredith Stiehm, Elwood Reid and their team, and are thrilled to be able to continue this journey for another season. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Rich Ross, Carolyn Bernstein and everyone at Shine America." Did any of you tune in to the show during its first season, and are you excited that the series will continue on?
Diane Kruger seen on Aug 01 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. Diane Kruger was photographed promoting her new television series "The Bridge" at the Fox Summer TCA All Star Party, which was held in LA on August 1. For her promotional appearance, Diane donned a graphic floral print Mary Katrantzou dress, which she paired with a boxy Edie Parker clutch and a pair of simple black strappy Stuart Weitzman heels. To get a look inspired by Diane's spirited summertime style, start with a fun and printed dress. Kay Unger New York's Floral Knit Dress in Pink Multi is a similar option, and for a silhouette that's a bit longer, try Clover Canyon's Print Dress in Turquoise. From there, accessorize with a cool clutch, like 3.1 Phillip Lim's 31 Minute Cosmetic Zip Clutch in Sherbet. For the finishing touches, try adding on a pair of delicate earrings, like Nolan Jewelry's Signature Mini Petal Shape in Rose Gold. What's your take on Diane's outfit on this occasion, readers - does it get a thumbs up or down from you? Diane recently chatted with Huffington Post about her new show, on which she plays Texas police detective Sonya Cross, who has Asperger's Syndrome. When she was asked what it's like to play a woman who is "not socially adept and thus comes off harshly at times," Diane replied: "It's both exciting and it's a little scary. Just the fact that I'm a woman has a lot of negativity about that. It's much more acceptable for a man to be brusque and rude, and they think it's charming. I mean, Jon Hamm is the most despicable character on television, but because he's handsome and a guy, [the response is] 'Oh, he's so wonderful.' If a woman did the same thing, she'd be short of being a prostitute. I'm just saying, the cliches and the standards for woman and men on television and in movies are so weird." Very interesting, what are your thoughts?
Diane Kruger seen on Apr 17 2013 in West Hollywood, CA. Diane Kruger had quite the busy day in West Hollywood on April 17, as the blonde actress was photographed lugging around a box before stopping to pick up a refreshing frozen yogurt treat. For her springtime ensemble, Diane decided to mix and match between the winter and summer seasons. She was seen sporting a cozy black sweater (like Minnie Rose's Oversized Pullover in Black) over a white t-shirt (try Splendid's U Neck T Shirt in White), and then wore a pair of summery Levi's cut off shorts (get the look with The Laundry Room's Floral Cut Offs) with a pair of pastel printed hi tops. A tan leather satchel and a pair of shades (check out Ray-Ban's similar, classic New Wayfarer in Tortoise) added the finishing touches to Diane's 'fit. What are your thoughts on this look, everyone - does it make sense to wear such a thick, warm sweater with such tiny shorts? In other Diane news, she's recently been named the new face of Chanel skincare! Diane first repped the brand back in 1996, when she appeared as the face of its Allure perfume. Do you think that Diane is a good pick for the iconic brand?
Diane Kruger seen on Mar 14 2013 in West Hollywood, CA. Diane Kruger was photographed grabbing lunch to go from Joan's on Third in West Hollywood on March 14, wearing a stylish yet attainable look for her daytime outing. For her outfit, Diane wore a two-toned Zara button up (get the look with Rails' Connor Dip Dyed Shirt in Denim, or for a solid denim option, it doesn't get much better than Current/Elliot's The Perfect Shirt in Miner) and a printed pair of AG Jeans. What are your thoughts on this look for Diane, everyone - super cool or nothing special? The German actress recently chatted with Flare Magazine about how her beau Joshua Jackson doesn't like her to watch his early acting roles, which I think pretty much refers to "Dawson's Creek." Said Diane: "He doesn't want me to watch his early work,. He grew up in front of the camera with pimples and bloatiness." Ha! I hope those were his words that she's repeating, and not hers!
Diane Kruger seen on Mar 12 2013 in Beverly Hills, CA. Diane Kruger was photographed doing some shopping in Beverly Hills on March 12, and toting a Lanvin shopping bag along with her current favorite embroidered Alexander McQueen "Heroine Bag." For her casual ensemble, the German actress looked gorgeous going totally makeup free and wearing a pair of skinny pink Current/Elliott jeans and 3.1 Phillip Lim's tan snakeskin flats. To get a look inspired by DK's colorful yet basic ensemble, start with Joe's Jeans' Color Ankle Jean in Nectar and pair with a dark grey tee, such as Free People's Keep Me V Tee in Charcoal. For a similar option that has a cool print, take a peek at Brokedown's Tie-Dye Heart Tee in Charcoal. From there, add on a unique pair of flats, such as Report's Jezzica Flat in Black/White, which have a similar shape to Diane's 3.1 Phillip Lim flats. Overall, what is your take on her look here, readers - is this combination of bright pants and a basic tee something you would wear for an afternoon of shopping? In other Diane news, she recently chatted with Flare about her relationship with Karl Lagerfeld, saying: "I’ve known him since I move to Paris when I was 16. He’s very kind and can be very funny and ironic and silly. In difficult moments in my life when I don’t really know who to talk to, I sort of drop by his studio and he knows me well enough to pick up on weird things. He really is one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met." Wow... I had no idea that they'd known each other for so long!
Diane Kruger seen on Jan 31 2013 in Berlin, Germany. Diane Kruger was photographed attending a photo call for her latest film, Der Naechste, Bitte!, which was held at the Hotel de Rome in Berlin, Germany on January 31. For her polished ensemble, Diane chose a look from Stella McCartney which included a simple black vest and a pair of floral black and white pants. A white watch and basic black pointed toe pumps completed Diane's outfit. To emulate her style here, pick a cool pair of printed pants - either Joe's Jeans' Flocked Jean in White/Black or Savee Couture's Sequin Leggings in Grey should do the trick - and then wear with a chic yet simple black top. For two cool options, check out either Bailey 44's Java Man Top in Black or Joie's Siegal in Caviar. What's your take on this ensemble on Diane, everyone? In other news, the German actress recently chatted with Glamour about her photo shoot with the magazine, and when asked if she learned any special skills while on set, she replied: "I did get to drive a silver Lotus, stick. Which I don’t drive, so that was pretty fun and it was the coolest car ever, and I’m the coolest chick to my boyfriend for the next ten years." So cool!
Diane Kruger seen on Sep 27 2012 in New York, NY. Diane Kruger was photographed leaving her hotel in NYC on September 27, looking a bit disheveled as she made her way about town. Opting for a masculine, military-inspired look, Diane paired an army green jacket (for a sleeveless option with a similar feel, try Nanette Lepore's Bonus Jacket in Army) with a basic black shirt (check out either LnA's Seamed Cape Tee in Black or Free People's Waffle Thermal in Black for something a little cozier) and black jeans. For a similar pair, take a peek at Earnest Sewn's Esra Mid Rise Skinny in Light Jet. A pair of lace up boots provided the finishing touches for Diane's look. Do you prefer Diane to be a bit more feminine and fun with her style, or do you like this toned-down look? In Diane career news, it has been announced that the German actress has signed on to the upcoming FX pilot "The Bridge." The first regular TV series role for DK, the show is "about two detectives from the United States and Mexico who must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the American-Mexican border. Kruger will play El Paso Police Homicide Detective Sonya North, a tactless and frank cop who tells it like it is. She's paired with Marco Ruiz, a Mexican detective who has the people skills and empathy she lacks." Are any of you intrigued by the concept of Diane's new series?
Diane Kruger seen on Sep 04 2012 in Los Feliz, CA. Diane Kruger was photographed leaving dinner at Little Doms in Los Feliz on September 5, keeping her nighttime dinner look casual yet bright. Starting with a neon t-shirt (for a very similar option, try Monrow's Double V Neck Top in Neon Violet; Hard Tail's Cowl Tunic in Margarita is another vibrant option), Diane then wore a pair of light wash skinny jeans (get the look with Work Custom Jeans' Viper in Light Work Blue) with Loeffler Randall's studded, cap toe flats. From there, Diane accessorized a black chapeau, a Louis Vuitton wallet and a chic black tote (for something similar, try Julie K Handbags' Jacqui Black Cobra). Are you into this look for Diane, everyone? I know many of you are o-v-e-r the neon trend... would love to see the ratio of those who love/loathe it for the upcoming fall season! Obviously neon is more of a summer trend, do you think you'll rock it as the temps drop in the fall? Weigh in by leaving a comment!
Diane Kruger seen on Aug 24 2012 in West Hollywood, CA. Diane Kruger was photographed indulging in a bit of retail therapy as she left the James Perse store in West Hollywood on August 24, hauling a bevy of bags back to her car as the paparazzi snapped away. Diane was seen rocking wet hair for her shopping trip, as she had just left Salon Benjamin before hitting up the James Perse store - her current mindset must have been "wet hair don't care"! For her shopping ensemble, DK paired a leopard print Current/Elliot t-shirt (for a cute dose of leopard print, check out Brokedown's Leopard Heart Shirt in White) with a pair of royal blue Current/Elliot skinny jeans (get the look with either Bleulab's Janice Ultra Skinny Pant in Electric Blue), and then slipped into a pair of brown moccasins. Accessory wise, Diane kept it simple with only a chain strap shoulder bag - Cassandra's Princess Evening Bag in Espresso is similar. Diane Kruger seen on Jun 01 2012 in Los Angeles, CA. Diane Kruger and BF Joshua Jackson were photographed arriving at LAX on June 1, and Diane did not seem to be too pleased to spot the lingering paparazzi. For her airport arrival ensemble, Diane started with a pair of cropped printed pants (for a bold printed look, go with Issa London's Printed Pants in Kenya) and then wore a white tee printed with a pair of sunglasses (try Wildfox Couture's Unisex Tee in Pearl for an option with a print, or for a great basic, check out Splendid's Cotton Top in Paper) and a cozy scarf (try A Peace Treaty's Sienna Hand Woven Scarf). Accessory wise, Diane added on a cool fedora, a pair of white sunnies, a black shoulder bag, and a pair of sandals. After stunning in countless couture gowns in Cannes, what are your thoughts on her casual street style look here? Diane recently dished about her relationship with Josh in an interview with Life & Style, saying: "Neither of us is religious, and the picket fence isn’t what we're aiming at. We’re together for six years now, so for all intents and purposes, we are (married). I have no need for a priest to tell me that!" Ha! Do you think that they should make it official, or keep on the Kurt and Goldie route?
Diane Kruger seen on Jan 12 2012 in Los Angeles, CA. Diane Kruger posed on the red carpet of the 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards, which were held at The Hollywood Palladium earlier this evening, January 12. Wearing a stunning grey and yellow Prada gown, Diane accessorized with a stack of mixed metal House of Lavande bracelets and a bright pink satin clutch. On a beauty note, DK swept her blonde locks into an elegant updo, and complemented her pink clutch with a bold pink lip shade. To create your own movie star moment, take a cue from Diane and choose a stunning dress - we have two such options right here on CoutureCandy. Start with either Sue Wong's more formal Beaded Grecian Gown in Platinum or Bailey 44's more casual Hodad Stripe Dress, and then pile on the bracelets. Try mixing Satya Jewelry's Contoured Woven Cuff in Gold with Elizabeth & James' Two Tone Scallop Bangle in Sterling Silver. Thought on Diane's awards ensemble here, everyone? As always, I think she looks totally polished and effortlessly chic. In recent Diane career news, the German actress has signed on to portray the iconic French Queen Marie Antoinette in the new French-language film Les Adieux a la Reine (which translated means Farewell, My Queen). The film tells the story of "Versailles in July 1789. Unrest is growing in the court of King Louis the XVI. The people are rebelling - a revolution is imminent. Behind the facades of the royal palaces, everyone is thinking of fleeing, including Queen Marie Antoinette (Diane Kruger) and her entourage. Among her ladies-in-waiting is Sidonie Laborde (Lea Seydoux) who as the Queen's reader has become quite intimate with her. With great amazement, Sidonie experiences the first hours of the French Revolution." Are any of you interested in seeing Diane tackle this role?
Diane Kruger seen on Feb 16 2011 in Westwood, CA. Making a mini statement twice in one week, Diane Kruger shows her obsession with the revamped "little white dress" look on both coasts last week. Di first made an appearance at a fashion week Gotham magazine party in NYC on February 13, hosting the event at the Paramount hotel to celebrate her new cover issue (photo on the left). For the edgy New York crowd, Diane chose a sexy Azzaro Spring 2011 mini dress with a silver studded band ruching the left side of the dress (opt for Luc by Lucy's Side Ruffle Sierra Dress in White) paired with stunning Brian Atwood 'Super Charged' python booties (check out Coye Nokes' Joan Bootie in Sabbia Embossed Python). Di completed the look with her hair down, smoky eyes and a skinny silver bracelet. A few nights later Diane made her way back to the west coast for the LA premiere of her new film Unknown starring Liam Neeson on February 16 in Westwood, CA. Di strutted down the red carpet in a super short Dolce & Gabbana lace mini with silver crystal embellishments (check out Sue Wong's Floral Overlay Dress in Ivory) and a pair of Brian Atwood 'Maniac' nude pumps (similar to Coye Nokes' Jacqueline Pump in Taupe Patent). For this event Di wore her hair up, revealing diamond stud earrings and adding a little sparkle with a silver cuff bracelet (like Gorjana's Zebra Skinny Cuff in Silver). What do you think of the two ways she's wearing the LWD trend, do you think it works better with an edgy twist or a softer feminine touch? I think the D&G dress is just a tad too short for her super long legs, so the first look wins for me. I have to point out that either dress would be difficult for anyone to pull off, but Diane always brings the magic touch that makes it work – maybe it's her career beginnings as a model that help her out! Di recently chatted with Glamour about her pre-fame desire to be an actress: “I’m from a small village [in Germany], and it never occurred to me that you could actually make a living performing. It was a hobby. I always thought you had to live in Hollywood. So the urge really came later, when I became a model." Both career moves seem to be working out well for her!
Diane Kruger seen on Feb 14 2011 in Los Angeles, CA. Making a romantic effort on Valentine's Day, Joshua Jackson surprises girlfriend Diane Kruger with a rose bouquet after her flight landed at Los Angeles International Airport on February 14. Di arrived dressed for chilly temps in a cozy grey sweater (check out Joie's Cowl Neck Sweater in Grey), lilac scarf (like Woo's Pom Pom Scarf in Lavender), dark indigo skinny jeans (similar to Tag Jeans' Brentwood Skinny in Dark Navy) and a pair of comfy boots (try Koolaburra's Cassidy Boot in Grey, perfect for travel). Diane carried a black winter coat, garment bag and Chanel quilted crossbody clutch. At her side, a very well dressed Joshua greeted her in a tailored blazer over a white tee (check out 7 Diamonds' Berlin Jacket in Charcoal which combines the comfort of a hoodie with a tailored blazer fit), faded bootcut jeans (like Joe's Jeans' Classic Jean in Wyatt), black shoes and a chocolate suede fedora. He's even rolling her suitcase for her, awww! What do you think of this well dressed yet casual couple? Diane was headed back to the states for the premiere of her new suspense movie Unknown starring Liam Neeson, which came out in theatres this weekend. Di has been working hard to do her part promoting the film, and appeared on the cover of the March 2011 Glamour magazine chatting about everything from her humble roots in Germany to her love of fashion. She shared with the mag: "I truly, genuinely like clothes. Making them is an art form, and wearing them is a form of self-expression. I find it very emotional because I can remember moments in my life - my mood, how I felt - through these clothes." When asked if she plays a role in her boyfriend's style, Di confessed: "We go shopping. But he likes it. I definitely wasn’t fond of these blue sneakers that he wore all the time for about a year and a half." There's some brutal honesty! What do you think of Joshua's style here, do you think Di put this one together?
Diane Kruger seen on Feb 05 2011 in Hollywood, CA. Cute couple Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson were swarmed by paparazzi as they left a sushi date night at Katsuya in Hollywood on February 5, but then again, if you're a celebrity and you're going to Katsuya it's pretty much guaranteed that you'll be photographed. For their sushi ensembles, Diane started with an oh-so-hot-right-now pair of 70's flared jeans (like Work Custom Jeans' Roxy in Silver Lake) that she wore with a knit sweater (check out Nanette Lepore's Crop Sweater Top in Grey) and a warm black coat (try Bailey 44's Gary Glitter Jacket in Black). From there, Diane slipped into a pair of patterned heels and toted a covetable quilted Chanel flap bag. Josh decided to keep it simple in a classic white button up shirt (similar to John Varvatos Star USA's Slim Shirt in White), grey jeans (take a look at Joe's Jeans' Classic in Dorsey), a black belt (add a little extra with Nyovee's Snake Diamond Belt in Black, and simple sneakers. Are you diggin' this stylish couple's outfits, readers? In other Diane news, it seems that the German beauty is denying auditioning for the upcoming Superman reboot. She's definitely not in talks with producers, which she cleared up to MTV, saying: They're all false rumors. I don't know who launched them but it's not true." So who IS in the running to take on the role of Lois Lane? Kristen Stewart, Alice Eve, Rosamund Pike, Jessica Biel, Natalie Portman and Rachel McAdams. Who do you see in the role, friends?
Diane Kruger seen on Jan 25 2011 in Paris, France. Going glam overseas, Diane Kruger polishes her look in a lustrous metallic frock at the Vogue Paris Dinner on January 25 at Hotel de la Rouchefoucauld Doudeaville in Paris, France. Di paid tribute to the designer of the night, wearing a Gucci gold accented gunmetal gown with a sexy low back halter (add some shine with Hale Bob's Banded V Neck Mini in Silver or Walter's Metallic Stitched Georgette Mini in Grey) paired with simple strappy heels (carry the metallic theme with Coye Nokes' Grace D'Orsay in Gold) and a gold framed black clutch (keep it chic with Julie K Handbags' Jessica Bag in Black). Diane swept her hair back in a chic chignon twist, accenting her look with smoky eyes and a subtle tan – perhaps a reminder of her trip to Mexico with beau Joshua Jackson earlier this month? What are your thoughts on Di's metal accented frock, does it work for her? I'm not crazy about how the top of the bodice fits, but I do like that for a shiny dress this isn't over the top with bling. Thoughts? Diane arrived in Paris in time to catch the Chanel Haute Couture show the day before, rubbing shoulders with Kirsten Dunst in the front row. While we know her best as a model and fashionista, Di recently chatted with Gotham magazine about a very serious role she will portray in the upcoming film Special Forces, playing a kidnapped journalist that involved filming in a remote location in the Himalayas: "I researched the role for four months, interviewing journalists who were kidnap victims, and I think it's changed me as a person… It's as though I felt quite ignorant before this, or maybe it's just part of growing up. I always thought I had a pretty accomplished life: a famous model who speaks three languages and keeps a place in Paris. This role has certainly put me in my place a little bit." She continued about living on set: "It was a lot harder than I anticipated… Eighteen-hour car rides, dirt roads that are not really roads, freezing cold at night, everyone is sleep deprived, and everything is incredibly difficult and hard. I've broken down crying sometimes, but so have many of the boys. It was also truly breathtaking - a once-in-a-lifetime experience." It definitely sounds so – can't wait to see the movie later this year!
Diane Kruger seen on Jan 12 2011 in Los Angeles, CA. Fresh off a flight at LAX, Diane Kruger gets a peck on the neck from longtime lover Joshua Jackson as they wait for their luggage to arrive after landing in Los Angeles on January 12. After spending a few relaxing days on vacay with her man, Di definitely looks a little groggy after stepping off their return flight from Mexico. Diane traveled in a comfortable, laidback look, casually pairing a floral mini (like Jenny Han's Ruffle Tier Dress in Violet Ditsy) with a military cargo jacket (like Hard Tail's Surplus Twill Jacket in Green Tea) and taupe ballet flats (try Loeffler Randall's Stud Flat in Blush). Di accessorized with a straw fedora with a black band, aviators and a delicate layered chain necklace (love the natural vibe of Robyn Rhodes' Lauren in Teal). What do you think of Diane's casual look? I'm loving the mix of the flirty floral dress with the more masculine jacket, I definitely think it works for her. The couple just returned from a relaxing vacation south of the border, spotting strolling on a beach in Mexico two days prior before returning to a cabana at their hotel to soak up the sun for the rest of the day. Even on vacay Di managed to spark a little fashion controversy, after she wore the same fierce panther swimsuit that Rihanna wore while frolicking at the beach in her native Barbados over the holidays. It's definitely a very unique suit - who do you think wore it better?
Diane Kruger seen on Nov 26 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Returning to LA after an overseas holiday, Diane Kruger and longtime beau Joshua Jackson touched down at LAX on November 26 after spending Thanksgiving Day in Paris. Diane went for a very casual look for her flight, pairing trending high waist jeans with a slight flare leg (like 7 For All Mankind's High Waist Boot in Myrella) with a white top tucked in, blue plaid scarf (layer up in Raw 7's Shredded Tube Scarf in Blue), and an oatmeal cardi keeping her warm (try Splendid's Feather Wool Cardi in Camo). Di pulled her hair back in a simple braid for the flight, carrying a glossy roomy tote (like Rocco e Dante Handbags' Olivia Bag in Blue) and traveling in black patent pumps with a wooden sole (just like KORS Michael Kors' Julian Patent Pump in Black). I'll never understand why so many celebs choose to trek through miles of airports in heels, but she looks good while doing so! Di appears to be fresh faced after her flight here, but at an event in LA recently she surprisingly shared her favorite makeup item: "Cover Girl concealer -- it's really good. A lot of makeup artists use it. The consistency is really good. It's not too dry. It's a stick." She continued, "It is a little embarrassing because I own a huge amount of makeup… I get really bored with the same products so I like to have options. I definitely [love] mascara but I also love fake lashes. I'm obsessed with them." Interesting obsession! What products in your makeup bag would you find impossible to live without this season, readers?
Diane Kruger seen on Oct 18 2010 in Beverly Hills, CA. Shedding some layers despite the rainy weather, Diane Kruger makes a splash at Elle's 17th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute in Beverly Hills, CA on October 18. Di arrived at the Four Season Hotel dazzling in a flaming red dress with an exaggerated racerback (check out Jenny Han's Corsage Dress in Burnt Orange or Black Halo's Gabriel Mini in Red to light up the room at your fall gatherings), giving the dress a summery feel when paired with a gold Jimmy Choo clutch (try Whiting & Davis' Shirred Frame Clutch in Gold) and tan strappy wooden heels (like Farylrobin's Imogen in Gold). As a finishing touch Diane added a sparkly gold bracelet (opt for Accessories & Beyond's Gold Bangle Bracelet in Brown) and diamond studs, pulling her hair back into a side braid finished with a messy bun. What do you think of Di's svelte look, is it October appropriate? Red is one of my favorite shades, so this plus the easy hairstyle win it for me. The Women in Hollywood event was sponsored by Calvin Klein's Beauty fragrance this year, which Diane happens to be the spokeswoman for. She shared with the press what a difficult decision it was for her to put her face on a fragrance: "I love Calvin Klein and I knew the advertising was going to be beautiful… I'm not a model anymore and I have no interest in doing that again. There needed to be an emotion and something that really embodied the essence of that specific perfume. I personally really like the picture… I was a little worried that it was going to be too racy or too provocative because that's not really what I'm like, or the kind of clothes I like. I think it all kind of came together." If you haven't caught of a glimpse of Di's ad while flipping through summer mags check it out here – do you think she made the right move?
Diane Kruger seen on Sep 10 2010 in New York, NY. Feeling the fashion spirit permeating through NYC, Diane Kruger dives into the Fashion's Night Out festivities at Saks Fifth Avenue on September 10 in New York City. Di supported pal Prabal Gurung and played a few games of Win, Lose or Draw with the designer, clearly enjoying herself in a gorgeous crimson frock (sizzle in Fernanda Carneiro's Regina Dress in Red or Shumaq's Lilis Dress in Red) and some daring lace-up black and grey ankle boots (get into the fall groove with Rock & Republic's edgy Nahlo Booties in Grey or the Ginny Crystal Mesh Bootie in Black). What do you think of Diane's FNO style, does it put you in the mood to shop for some new fall additions to your closet? Di pinned her hair back in a messy bun for the event, fresh faced after spending the day at the F.I.T. Couture Council's Luncheon honoring Karl Lagerfeld. Di introduced the iconic designer whom she considers her mentor, and even sat next to the Devil herself, Anna Wintour! Before taking the stage Di chatted with the press about Uncle Karl's influence on her: "I've know him half my life. I used to model, and that's how I first met him. I was the face of Allure the perfume, and the makeup line, and I've known him ever since. We've stayed friends." And neighbors as well – Di also shared that Karl has been bugging her to sell her Parisian apartment to him to beef up his real estate portfolio! How's that for neighborly love?
Diane Kruger seen on Aug 03 2010 in West Hollywood, CA. Enjoying a spicy night out with her man, Diane Kruger and longtime love Joshua Jackson get their taco fix at Red O restaurant in West Hollywood on August 3. Di was dressed for a hot summer night in high waist belted jeans (try cropping Shumaq's moderately high waisted Lu Jeans in Jean) with a black tube top tucked in (try converting Lotta Stensson's Shirred Mini Tube Dress in Black into a top and get two looks in one) and a black cross-body bag at her side (like Linea Pelle's Dylan Perforated Disco Clutch in Black). Diane kept it casual with black ballet flats (love the texture of Coye Nokes' Amelia Ballet Flat in Black Embossed Python) with a casual black jacket over her arm (I'm a fan of Ella Moss' Madison Jacket in Black). What do you think of Di's date night look, do you think the high waist style works for her? I'm not sure if anything looks bad on Diane, but I don't think this is something your average girl could pull off! Di definitely has very good fashion taste, and Vanity Fair recently added her to their list of the world's best dressed people. Talk about a compliment!
Diane Kruger seen on Jul 07 2010 in Berlin, Germany. Diane Kruger returned to Berlin on July 7 for the World of Calvin Klein event during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011, wearing a very plain yet chic ensemble emblematic of the refined CK aesthetic. Di opted for a starkingly simple white sheath dress (show off your tan in Rachel Pally's Caftan Dress in White, Splendid's simple Tank in White or Luc by Lucy's elegant Side Ruffle Sierra Dress) with a shiny black box clutch (similar to Whiting & Davis' Crystal Accents Minaudiere in Black). Diane allowed her chunky white platform heels to take the focus, polishing the look with bright berry lipstick and a messy knot sweeping her hair back. What do you think of Diane's simple style, does it work for her? With her model background, Di has become known as a fashion figure over the past few years, but it hasn't always been easy. She reveals to Allure magazine this month about a painful fashion experience she encountered at the Venice Film Festival in 2008: “I wore an haute couture gown and it had a full-on corset – it was gorgeous, but it was a runway piece, and it hadn’t been made for life. The bodice didn’t have one of those openings at the bottom. I nearly fainted because it was so tight, and I had to go to the bathroom so badly, but it would have taken an hour to get out of that dress,” She paused, and like a true fashionista continued: "But, it was so gorgeous!” She has a point! How many of you have endured pain for your favorite fashions?
Diane Kruger seen on Jun 29 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Showing off her sunkissed complexion, Diane Kruger meets some friends for dinner in Los Angeles on June 29. Di headed back to Hollywood to prep for her new role in Special Forces after spending a few weeks of blissful vacation with boyfriend Joshua Jackson in Europe, and you can see from her tan she had a very relaxing time! Before you make fun of her unseasonable sweater, LA has been experiencing some serious June Gloom for the past few weeks and I don't blame her for bundling up at night! Diane put her quirky look together with a girly floral chiffon mini under a cozy oatmeal sweater (try wearing Gold Hawk's Printed Halter Dress in Lilac Hush with Qi New York's Star Dust Handknit Sweater in Smoke) with cognac tuxedo shoes. Staying true to her Chanel addiction, Di carried an ivory and gold classic quilted bag (love the buckle accent on Antoinette Lee's Dolce Handbag in Stone) to complete the look, pulling her hair back in a messy top-knot. I love the contrast of the oversized sweater with the ultra femme skirt, what do you readers think of her style? If you've been browsing the newsstands for beach reads, you might have spotted the July issue of Allure featuring Diane on the cover. In the interview Di took a moment to dwell on some blunt comments she made about never wanting to marry again after her divorce in 2006: “I’m not religious, so that aspect of [marriage] means nothing. And don’t get me wrong - I believe in commitment. But out of experience I know if that goes away, no paper you have signed will keep you around.” What do you think of Diane's thought provoking remarks, do you agree with her?
Diane Kruger seen on Jun 10 2010 in Venice, CA. Heading out for a sunny stroll with her man, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson were spotted checking out the scene on Abbot Kinney in Venice, CA on June 10. Di dressed for the occasion in a vintage inspired floral mini (similar to Shumaq's Isa Dress in Black) and embellished sandals (check out Gwyneth Shoes' Aggie T Strap Sandal in Black), staying warm in an oversized leather jacket (love the cozy lining of The Battalion's Knox in Black). Diane topped the look with a black and tan fedora, casually slinging a black leather tote at her side (love the studded detail on Tylie Malibu's Runaway Utility Bag in Black). I'm loving the way this all works together, but the only accessory I'm not endorsing is that cancer stick she's puffing on – yuck! What do you readers think of this look, do you like the girly print mixed with leather or is it too much? It's fitting that Di is dressed in a cute mini while out with her beau, as she was recently quoted: "I still think it's important to put on some make-up and a nice dress for my boyfriend. I'm not one of those girls who stops working and just throws on sweatpants. At night it's nice to wear make-up." I hope she doesn't mean to bed! Do you readers do anything special for your man in the post-work hours?
Diane Kruger seen on May 26 2010 in London, UK. Literally shining on the red carpet, Diane Kruger makes her way from Cannes to London for the 2010 National Movie Awards with beau Joshua Jackson on May 26. Looking lightly tanned and luxurious in all that gold, Di paired her metallic Lanvin frock (shine on in Voom by Joy Han's Metallic Mini in Bronze or Karen Zambos Jessica Dress in Metallic) with decadent chain strap Mary Jane heels (add some edge with Farylrobin's Geneva Leather Pump in Black). With such a showstopping dress Di kept her accessories light with a black clutch completing the look (like Inge Christopher's Aegean Oversized Flap Clutch in Black). I feel like this is a hard look to pull off, but do you think Di makes the foiled look glam here? This one of the few occasions Diane is not predictably wearing Chanel or Karl Lagerfeld on the red carpet, but she recently shed some insight on her close relationship with the man behind the brand: "He is like a stepfather to me. We're very close—we just get on so well… I've known him since I was 16-years-old, ever since I first started to model and he has always been so kind. We go way back. People have said I am his muse but I don't think I'd call myself that. It's not how I think of our relationship. That's big. It's hard to describe Karl, he really is one of a kind." Couldn't sum it up better!
Diane Kruger seen on May 23 2010 in Cannes, France. If anyone can make hot pink haute it's Diane Kruger, and the lovely leading lady was spotted at the Palme d'Or Award Closing Ceremony at the Palais des Festivals culminating the 2010 Cannes Film Festival on May 23 in Cannes, France. Di is a total knockout in her Jason Wu fuchsia frock (brighten up in Rachel Pally's Long Cami Dress in Rosy or Sue Wong's Exotic Beaded Ombre Gown in Magenta/Red for your summer special occasions), which makes anything I dressed my Barbie in as a child pale in comparison to the rosy hue. Di complemented the dress with well chosen diamond jewelry, including a sparkling star necklace (try Lois Hill's Scroll Disk in Silver) and dazzling bracelet (let the light shine off Amrita Singh's Tilla Bangle in Silver). Lastly Diane carried a satin Roger Vivier clutch (opt for Whiting & Davis' Classic Facile Clutch, which comes in both demure Black and fiery Magenta). What are your thoughts on Di's candy coated look, does she nail it or is it a little too much? Diane has been happily spending her time in the south of France, first relaxing for a few days with her beau Joshua Jackson before hitting up the Cannes Film Festival festivities solo. While abroad it was announced Di will be the new face of Calvin Klein, appearing in their new fragrance ads for "Beauty." Diane gave some thoughtful soundbytes for the new perfume, explaining her product endorsement to WWD: “The first time [Calvin Klein reps and I] met, they gave me a sample of the fragrance. If you want to endorse something as an actress, you want to make sure you that what you’re actually endorsing is something you can sit there and with a straight face and [represent.]” Glad to hear Di won't stand behind a product she's not committed to! The first few ads are already out – what do you think of Diane's flawless face, timeless or too much Photoshop?
Diane Kruger seen on May 10 2010 in St. Tropez, France. Enjoying some fun in the sun, Diane Kruger and long-time love Joshua Jackson arrive at the Chanel Party on Places des Lices in St. Tropez on May 10. The party kicked off the Cannes Film Festival and celebrated Karl Lagerfeld's short film Remember Now, showcased earlier in the day. Being one of Karl's favorite muses, Di and her beau headed south to support Chanel's mastermind, sipping wine in the afternoon sunshine and enjoying the French boules game pétanque after sundown. Dressed in a flirty black and white 'fit that epitomizes Chanel's elegance, Diane started with a lacy black cami tucked into a white A-line skirt (try Tt Collection's Bette Lace Top in Black with Shumaq's flirty Demi Skirt in White). Di kept it casual in black embellished flats (very similar to Gwyneth Shoes' Aggie T Strap Sandal in Black) and a straw fedora with a black band, wearing her hair in a messy side braid with a girly black bow tie. As a final touch, Di carried her wicker basket tote for the second outing in a row (instead of the real thing, carry a basket inspired clutch like Zambos & Siega's Brigitte Oversized Clutch in Natural). I love Di's summery look but I just don't see how this accessory would translate to the real world – would any of you consider carrying around such a bulky basket? Diane and her man have been relaxing in the south of France for the past few days, both enjoying some time off the set between projects. And what better way to relax than on a yacht in St. Tropez? I can't think of one!
Diane Kruger seen on Apr 20 2010 in New York, NY. The lovely Diane Kruger reemerges from her winter slumber and takes a stroll in NYC's Soho neighborhood with her beau Joshua Jackson on April 20. Taking advantage of the warm spring temps, Di enjoyed an ice cream cone while walking and talking with her man. Unlike the spring florals we've been seeing lately, DK's style took a darker tone with a rich bordeaux colored frock (love the beautiful burgundy shade of Jenny Han's Tab Sleeve Shirt Dress in Casis) and flirty black sandals (similar to Gwyneth Shoes' Aggie T Strap Sandal in Black). Diane stayed warm in a black oversized cardi (love the subtle detailing of Splendid's Pintucked Cardi in Black) and accessorized with a black pocket book (like Linea Pelle's Dylan Disco Clutch in Black), black aviators and a long pendant necklace (add a quirky touch with Archive's Bird Tag Locket in Brass). What do you think of Di's spring style? Looks like a great balance of cozy, casual chic to me! Diane and her man just returned to NYC after spending last weekend at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, relaxing in the sunshine while listening to some of their favorite bands. While they've been dating for a couple of years now, Di recently confessed in an interview with Marie Claire UK that she's not very familiar with her man's past work: "I have never seen one episode of Dawson’s Creek. I must be the only person on this planet. I went to a Women in Hollywood event two months ago and Katie Holmes was being honoured. And all of her clips of Dawson’s Creek were with Josh and it was so weird. He was all pimply and had a bloated face [laughs]. I had to call him and he was like, ‘Don’t watch it! Don’t watch it!’ Very funny." How can you not love Pacey?? Check out Di on the cover of the April 2010 UK edition on news stands now for the rest of the article!
Diane Kruger seen on Mar 06 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Deutsch dream Diane Kruger is gorgeous as ever at a pre-Oscar soiree at Madeo in LA on March 6. Di arrived at the Chanel and Charles Finch sponsored dinner dedicated to celebrating fashion and film with her beau Joshua Jackson at her side dazzling in – what else? – a Chanel Fall 2009 Couture mini dress. Diane paired the flirty sequined circle print mini (check out Lotta Stensson's Circle Drum Tank Dress in Drum Print or get your sparkle on in Jenny Han's Sequin Mini Dress in Black) with nude Jimmy Choo sandals (check out Samanta's textured Viv Peep in Brown). A side ponytail and contrast blue bag (just like Inge Christopher's Theda Oversized Clutch in Blue) complete Di's flawless 'fit. What do you think of her night out attire? It's pretty obvious I think she looks absolutely stunning here, but the black and white Chanel gown she wore to the 2010 Oscars was a completely different story. Like Miley Cyrus, Di's intriguing gown landed her on both best and worst dressed rundowns – although I think she leans closer to best than complete trainwreck! Diane's iconic Chanel gown featured layers of ivory pleats, ruffles and chiffon petals divided by black rosette bands, topped with a short train and black satin clutch: essentially, a look that in Tim Gunn's words needed "an editing eye," but I think if anyone can pull it off it's Di. What do you think?
Diane Kruger seen on Jan 23 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Looking radiant as ever, Diane Kruger poses effortlessly on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on January 23. Di had boyfriend Joshua Jackson at her side and looks like she couldn't be more relaxed in this breathtakingly beautiful gown. For her recent red carpet appearances Di has been sticking to classic, refined designers like Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Lacroix, but at the SAG Awards she decided to have a little fun with color in a vibrant tangerine Jason Wu gown with a draped off shoulder neckline and sweeping mermaid train (to add a little vitamin C to your spring wardrobe, try Gold Hawk's Long Shoulder Garden Party Dress in Orange, Tricia Fix's Belle in Orange, or Tricia Fix's Tara Long Maxi Dress in Orange). DK swept her hair to the side in an elegantly simple curled updo and accessorized with dazzling pendant earrings (try Calico Juno's Victorian 126 in Gold), a sparkling studded bracelet and brilliant gold clutch (Whiting & Davis' Checkboard Clutch in Gold is my current obsession). I absolutely love the ruching detail at the bust and down the center back – adds a very chic element to the rear view! In a sea of boring gowns on the red carpet this year, Diane hit it out of the park with this gorgeous frock. Are any of you not loving this? Although Di was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her work in Inglourious Basterds, she ended up sharing the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, as voted for by her peers. Congrats, Di!
Diane Kruger seen on Jan 12 2010 in Berlin, Germany. Diane Kruger is on such a hot fashion streak this week I had trouble deciding which looks to feature! First up, Di brought a little edge to the red carpet in her native Berlin at the premiere of Sherlock Holmes on January 12. Working an edgy black and gunmetal look that would have looked like a couture space suit on anyone else, DK started with a black Karl Lagerfeld zip front mini with armor-like bolero insets at the top (play up the LBD meets the future look with Sue Wong's metallic accented Short Bubble Dress in Black or Karen Zambos' flirty Katia Dress in Black with a similarly shaped skirt). Staying warm in black leggings, Di upped the vibe with her envious above the knee leather boots (try Farylrobin's appropriately named Frankfurt in Black) and completed the look with a petite python box clutch (just like Inge Christopher's Multi Metallic Boa Minaudiere in Multi). The only thing I'm not 100% loving is her hair – the headband seems unnecessary with such a hard look and makes it seem like she's trying to add a romantic twist to this 'fit. Still, I'm glad she wore her hair up to show off the dramatic sculptured shoulders of this gorgeous frock. What do you readers think of her look? A close runner up in my fashion rundown for the week was Di's look at the Critic's Choice Awards, held on January 15 in Hollywood. The only thing I don't love about her gorgeous full length gown is the color – why white in the middle of winter? I just haven't caught on to this trend yet. Are any of you picking up on snowy hues this season?
Diane Kruger seen on Jan 06 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. It may be the middle of winter, but white was the hue of the night at the 2010 People's Choice Awards on January 6. Diane Kruger worked the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in downtown LA wearing a curve hugging Herve Leger ruched sheath dress with a scoop back and edgy silver chain accents (show off your curves in Jenny Han's Bussel Dress in White or The Battalion's V Neck Studded Tunic Dress in White). In classic Chanel flair, Diane paired her white frock with all black accessories, including sexy gladiator heels, a studded black clutch (Trace's Large Riveted in Black is a great versatile option) and black wrap bracelets (like Linea Pelle's Wide Multi Strand Cuffs in Black). Loose waves and natural make up complete Di's flawless 'fit. Do you think it's a good look for her, especially breaking the no-white-after-Labor-Day rule? Besides DK and Taylor Swift, another notable star walking the red carpet in white was Olivia Wilde, who was on hand to accept the award for Favorite TV Drama for "House." Diane made a special trip from Vancouver to LA to represent Inglourious Basterds at the awards show, after filming a cameo in beau Joshua Jackson's series "Fringe." Di is also on the cover of V magazine this month, talking about how much she enjoying filming Inglourious: “The minute [my character Bridget] speaks, she has to demand attention, and when she speaks, nobody else does. There’s a certain energy to her that I don’t think I naturally have, and it was very hard for me to bring that to set every day.” Obviously not too hard, as DK pulled it off with flying colors! She continued, “When I first got the script, I couldn’t believe that after all these years of trying to get rid of my German accent to play American roles, finally along came a part that was not only a great part, but also perfect for me.” Incredibly perfect it seems, as DK was part of the dynamic cast that helped earn the Favorite Independent Movie award at the PSA's. Congrats, Di!
Diane Kruger seen on Dec 21 2009 in Beverly Hills, CA. The always elegant Diane Kruger proves even a sweater and leggings can be sexy while shopping in Beverly Hills, CA on December 21. DK doesn't strike me as a leggings and ballet flats kind of girl, but she looks adorable here chatting away while picking up a few holiday gifts. For her casual shopping spree attire Diane started with a cute ruffled jumper (like Karen Zambos' Sydney Dress in Black) over ankle length leggings (like Ella Moss' Ponte Leggings in Black) and demure ballet flats (give the look a little edge with Gwyneth Shoes' Starlet Flat in Black). DK stayed warm in an ash knit sweater (very similar to 7 For All Mankind's Long Cardi in Titanium) and of course completed her 'fit with a chain strap bag (try a similar flap bag like Carla Mancini's Soft Fold Flap Contrast Stitch Bag in Chestnut) though it doesn't appear to be Chanel! What do you think of DK's laid back attire? Di looked happy to be back in the Cali sunshine after spending a few days in NYC with long time love Joshua Jackson. Everyone loves a romantic stroll, but brrrr it looks cold! DK returned to the west coast to announce the 2010 Golden Globes Nominations on December 15, joining Justin Timberlake to announce the much anticipated GG hopefuls. Taking her spokeswoman duties one step further, a few days after the noms Diane announced she is the new global spokeswoman for L'Oreal Paris. DK spoke of her admiration for the line – and her predecessors, including Beyonce and Eva Longoria – at the event: "I admire the brand, not only for the quality and innovation of its products, but also because it represents diversity and excellence across the world, values which are very close to my heart… I am, of course, also delighted to be joining the other L'Oreal Paris spokespeople, an extremely talented, widely admired group of people." I think it's safe to say 2010 is looking to be a great year for Diane!
Diane Kruger seen on Nov 04 2009 in New York, NY. Is there ever a time that Diane Kruger doesn't look absolutely radiant? The beautiful fashionista had her hands full last week, attending several sartorial events in LA and NYC, including the annual “Fête d’Hiver” Benefit at Four Seasons Restaurant on November 4, hosted by Chanel Fine Jewelry. As expected Di arrived in a sparkling midnight blue Chanel Couture Fall 2009 dress, modified from the full length runway version to show off a flared peplum skirt and sophisticated cap sleeves (sparkle is everywhere this holiday season, so get your shine on with LaROK's Sequined Rolly Dress in Black topped with Voom by Joy Han's Sequin Bolero in Black, or for a more youthful look try Alice + Olivia's Sequin Stripe Dress in White/Black). Adding a few well chosen accessories, DK carried a black skinny clutch (love the texture of Elaine Turner's Allie Clutch in Black) and wore a plain skinny silver bracelet and ring. I'm not a fan of the long necklace – a shorter style or none at all would have been better to let the dress speak for itself. What do you think of the sparkly look? Other stars attending the event benefitting the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's pediatric wing included the always beautiful Blake Lively and Project Runway judge Nina Garcia. At the event DK told the press why she enjoy working with the classic couture house, "I work with Chanel as an ambassador for the brand and they're one of the few who always give back. I usually only go out when I have a movie to promote… When you're a girl you have to think about what to wear — it becomes a lot." But it's never to much when you have an endless array of Chanel gowns to choose from!
Diane Kruger seen on Oct 30 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. Choosing to be under rather than overdressed, Diane Kruger plays it casual at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Event at Chateau Marmont in LA on October 30. DK has a penchant for adding bows wherever they fit, and her trademark continued at this event with a quirky bow placed at the bottom of the Henley placket on her baby blue blouse (bow lovers, get your fix with options like Generra's Bow Dress in Black, Tt Collection's Nina Skirt in Black or Tt Collection's Audry Dress in Black). Di tucked her top into button up sailor shorts, pairing the look with girly black & tan Mary Janes and a chain strap python purse, most likely Chanel (I adore Danielle Nicole's Kristi Clutch in Black Patent/Lambskin which also comes in 5 candy colored hues). I think if anyone besides Diane tried to pull off the bow blouse it would be horribly executed, but somehow DK gives it a flirty, feminine vibe. What do you think, can she make this work? Since her transition from modeling to acting with her breakthrough in Troy, Diane has lit up the silver screen with roles in both National Treasure flicks and most recently Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. It was recently announced she will star in Unknown White Male with Liam Neeson and January Jones, which according to Variety "centers on a man who awakens from a coma to find that someone else has assumed his identity, and no one, including his wife, believes him." The film is loosely based on a documentary released under the same name in 2005, telling the true story of a British man who woke up on the New York subway one morning with no memory of who he was or how he got there. Filming begins in Di's native Berlin in January, which had to be a selling point for her. Can't wait to see her on set style!
Diane Kruger seen on Oct 27 2009 in West Hollywood, CA. Joining his many hot young Hollywood fans, Diane Kruger came out in support of designer Jason Wu at the preview of his Spring 2010 collection in West Hollywood on October 27. Diane arrived in a peppery gray fur coat (oh no she di'int!), which she removed once she headed inside Palihouse and got seated for the Vogue sponsored dinner party. Do you think the fur is unnecessary on the West coast in 70+ degree temps or is it all in the name of fashion? After the coat check Di unveiled a gorgeous green and black dot printed dress with a one shoulder neckline covered in dazzling Swarovski crystal accents (polka dot lovers try Susana Monaco's String Dress in Mod Dot or Pink Polka Dot's Kelly Floral Top in Green). I love Jason Wu and this look is made for Diane, although I'd remove the excess material on the front for someone else. DK completed the look with satin Roger Vivier heels, a shiny Hunting Season clutch (try Laura Matthews Designs' Patent & Lucite Clutch in Black) and a glittering bracelet (try Michele Michel's Heart Pearl Bracelet in Gray). What do you think of Di's look, magnificent or would you do it differently? At the event, DK had some very lovely things to say to the LA Times about the designer of the evening: "I love Jason. He's made a couple of really gorgeous dresses for me over the last few months. I think every dress he's ever made fits really great. I couldn't pick a favorite...every dress he does is sexy yet traditional. It appeals to young girls, but also to an older customer, too. He's like Chanel in that way." I agree completely with her that his dresses are amazingly tailored to her figure, but I'm not sure if I get the Chanel reference. Do you think Wu has a shot at designing items that can be on the same level as Chanel's timeless, classic pieces or will it take time to tell?
Diane Kruger seen on Oct 22 2009 in Santa Barbara, CA. Appearing on the red carpet after a noticeable absence, Diane Kruger was looking like her gorgeous self at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on October 22 at the Biltmore Four Seasons Hotel in Santa Barbara, CA. Arriving in a heavily Karl Lagerfeld influenced 'fit, Di paired a chic LBD (like C&C California's Nicolette Dress in Black or Suzabelle's Noir Knit Dress in Black) with black and white tuxedo ankle boots with flirty bow tie finishes. Love the elegant chain strap purse (like Danielle Nicole's Kristi Clutch in Black Patent/Lamb) and simple bracelet (add a little femme touch with Queen Baby by King Baby Studio's Rose Motif Bracelet in Silver) accessorizing this look very minimally – do you think this no-frills look works for her? DK made her way to Santa Barbara to support director Quentin Tarantino, who she became close with after filming Inglourious Basterds. Diane told the press: “He took a leap of faith on an actress who has so far only played Helen of Troy and did National Treasure. He sees me completely different. I feel Quentin gave me a great gift. No matter what impact this movie has on my career, or if it turns into a box office hit or not, I feel like I won the lottery.” How sweet of her!
Diane Kruger seen on Sep 11 2009 in Venice, Italy. You can always count on Diane Kruger to light up the red carpet, and she was on fire at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy on September 11. In contrast to the title of the premiere she attended for Mr. Nobody, Di was definitely somebody in her gorgeous Christopher Kane olive and black trimmed dress with an accordion skirt and sheer yoke neckline (capture the futuristic look with Walter's structured Shiny Foil Twill Bustier Dress in Gunmetal or Tricia Fix's liquid flowy Emily Mini Dress in Black). Paired with the orb shaped booties, it's a match made in heaven. As usual, Diane didn't overdo it with her accessories, opting for a slender matching cuff (like CC Skye's Carson Cuff in Black) with a chic box clutch (carry something sassy like Golden Bleu's Charley Clutch in Black or Danielle Nicole's Lindsay Clutch in Black). On top of it all the loose waves pulled into a side pony are a great casual complement to the look. What do you think of DK's 'fit? Earlier in the day D also attended a photocall in a much edgier look - but as usual, she pulls it off. What do you think of the studded combat boots? I haven't heard much hype about Diane's latest appearance as Anna in Mr. Nobody, but IMDb describes is as an existential film about a man named Nemo Nobody (Jared Leto) waking up 100 years later to find himself the oldest man in the world, as he continues to ponder the possible life outcomes he could have had. Watch the trailer here. The film technique is very interesting but to be honest, I'm not really sure if I get it… what do you think? Either way I'll still happily watch to see how Diane is as one of Nemo's many wives!
Diane Kruger seen on Aug 17 2009 in New York, NY. Looking a little more hipster than usual, Diane Kruger made her way to MTV Studios for an appearance on “It’s On with Alexa Chung” on August 17 in NYC. While doing her interview, Alexa bestowed her fellow Twilight freak friend with a highly coveted gift basket with all sorts of goodies related to the flick. I'm not all that crazy about the vampire scene – how bad do you fans want to get your hands on the gifts pictured with Diane? Playing off a youthful vibe for the younger crowd, Di picked an Urban Outfitters ditsy floral dress with a high waist skinny belt (try pairing Cake Couture's Ikat Print Tank Dress in As Shown or Karen Zambos' Richie Dress in Red Cloud with a sleek skinny belt like Pellemelle's The Skinny Belt in Brown). Love the old fashioned full skirt with the n.d.c. Sunday boots – it balances the feminine look with a dash of edge, don't you think? A Diane Kruger 'fit wouldn't be complete without a touch of Chanel, and the model-turned-actress carried a cream quilted bag with a chain strap (get the femme look with Julie K's Gigi Mini Bag in Pewter). For the finishing touch Di pinned the front of her hair back and added a few curls for an easy, carefree style. I love that DK can go from uber glam one night to uber casual the next with hardly any effort. What do you think, is she workin' this? I never would have thought Alexa and Diane have similar taste, but as many fashion blogs are pointing out this week, they've actually worn the same pieces a few times in the past – Diane wore the white dress Alexa is wearing on the show only a few days prior! What do you think, is one of them a style copy-cat or does this just reveal they're friends off camera?
Diane Kruger seen on Aug 02 2009 in Melbourne & Sydney, Australia. Heading to Australia on the world press tour for Inglourious Basterds, Diane Kruger dazzles on the red carpet in Melbourne on August 2 and Sydney on August 3. A former model turned actress known for her impeccable taste, Di adds even more laurels to her style credentials after successfully pulling off two very masculine and feminine looks. Making a bold statement on her first night Down Under, Di arrived in head-to-toe Chanel (clearly heavily influenced by her friendship with Uncle Karl) complete with skinny black trousers, a sleeveless white button down (try Zoa's sheer Pleated Sleeveless Tunic Blouse in White), suspenders and a bow tie. It's not the first time she's opted for bows on the red carpet, but she still keeps this difficult-to-pull-off style fresh. Her swept back hair, smoky eyes and nude lips are perfectly balanced for the 'fit, and she nailed the accessories too with Christian Louboutin peep-toe Mary Janes and a simple black clutch (GoldenBleu's Amanda Clutch in Black/White would be adorable with a black & white 'fit). I'm not usually a fan of pantsuits for premieres but I actually think this one is tasteful – thoughts? The following night DK made her way to Sydney and channeled a completely different look in a red asymmetrical Marchesa mini (crimson lovers indulge in Interlud's Stitch Hem Halter Dress in Red or Black Halo's Bustier Detail Pleated Mini Dress in Cranberry) paired with stunning Loub pumps. The glamorous look is breathtaking, especially in contrast to her 'fit from the previous night, don't you think? Again, Di got it right with loose waves in her hair, a studded statement cuff (make your own with CC Skye's Bardot Cuff in Gold or Black and simple pewter clutch. I really love how the dress folds – she works it! Obviously these are two very different looks, so weigh in, CoutureCandy readers – which one do you think Diane wears better?
Diane Kruger seen on Jul 28 2009 in Berlin, Germany. Back in her native Germany, Diane Kruger was spotted looking gorgeous in Berlin at the Inglorious Basterds photocall at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski on July 28. Earlier in the week, Diane was spotted doing a little shopping at The Corner boutique also wearing the same sunny yellow shade. It's a bright shade to be repetitive with but it looks great with her complexion! For the photocall, Diane picked a strapless Louis Vuitton mini with military style brass buttons on the front (get your yellow fix with Woo's Sol Dress in Warm Sun, Alice + Olivia's Floral Poof Dress in Yellow, or Sky's Selena Mini Dress in Sunshine), paired with tan strappy sandals and gold twist earrings (Amy DiGregorio's Buckingham Road Earrings in Gold Vermeil have a gorgeous shape that will complement any 'fit). I think the frock is a great balance for the photocall – not too overdone but it definitely helps her stand out from the cast! For her shopping trip, Diane opted for a more eclectic vibe, rocking a Stella McCartney Resort 2010 'fit with a tucked in lemon tank and striped navy skirt (pump it up with Karen Zambo's Greta Skirt in Electric Blue or stay true to stripes with Joe's Jeans' Ollie Skirt in White) with metallic flats and a spiky statement necklace. The ivory quilted Chanel bag adds a nice classy touch for a casual shopping spree! Which look is your favorite? While Inglorious Basterds won't open in US theaters until August 21, the London and Berlin premieres have already come and gone as Diane makes her way around the globe with co-star Brad Pitt and director Quentin Tarantino. I just can't help but wonder who styles her – she always looks so polished, as she did in Balmain at the London premiere last week. What do you readers think of Diane's red carpet style?
Diane Kruger seen on Jul 23 2009 in London, England. Diane Kruger was spotted vogueing for the cameras as she appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of her newest film, Inglourious Basterds, in London earlier today, July 23, and it seems that Balmainia shows no signs of slowing down. For the event, Diane chose a black Balmain mini with a sweetheart neckline from the Fall 2009 collection, and accentuated it with an edgy chain belt and Christian Louboutin's Very Prive Studded Peep-Toe Pumps. For a more economical approach to Diane's killer look, start with a sexy LBD, like Sky's Cat and Ring Minster Mini Dress in Black, Shumaq's Marrisa Dress in Black, or Rachel Pally's Fortuna Dress in Black. Then accessorize it up with a chain belt (the contrast of Jack Rabbit Collection's Chain Belt in White could be cool) and a stand-alone black bracelet and you'll be all set. What are your thoughts on Diane's look here, do you think that she's rockin' the Balmain mini dress, or should she have gone a little more formal for such an important premiere? For those of you readers who are Quentin Tarantino fans, I'm sure you are eagerly awaiting the release of this movie on August 21. It takes place during the period of the Second World War, and also stars Brad Pitt who plays "a US officer who leads a band of Jewish American around Europe, taking bloody revenge on Nazis during the war." Hmmm, the film definitely sounds interesting - are any of you CoutureCandy readers planning on checking it out?
Diane Kruger seen on Jul 02 2009 in Berlin, Germany. Diane Kruger was spotted soaking up the fashion at Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week in Berlin, Germany on July 2, opting for an uber casual outfit for the day. Mingling with fellow fashion lovers at the Anja Gockel fashion show at the Bebelplatz backstage tent, DK kept it classy as always. Diane started with a pair of slouchy short-shorts (try Johnson's Silk Shorts with Cuff in Brown) and matched them with a feminine, cream lace top (check out the lace detailing on Ingwa Melero's Galina Top in Opal or Catherine Malandrino's Lace Embroidered Flower Tank in Ivory) and nude, strappy heels. DK allowed the statement top to speak for itself and downplayed her accessories, opting for only a simple watch and a leather shoulder bag (like Carla Mancini's Hobo with Front Lock in Yellow). What are your thoughts about Diane's 'fit at fashion week - are you feeling this super-summery look on her? While Diane has starred in a number of widely seen pictures, she has yet to really break out on her own as a leading actress. However, this might change with the release of her upcoming flick Inglourious Basterds, co-starring Brad Pitt and directed by Quentin Tarantino. What are your thoughts... any Diane fans out there, or anyone who is anxious to check out this film?
Diane Kruger seen on Jun 15 2009 in New York, NY. She's always a flawless fashionista, but Diane Kruger looked particularly stunning at this year's CFDA Awards held at the Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center in NYC on June 15. Posing with pal Jason Wu in a fiery custom made frock from the designer himself, Diane topped the Best Dressed lists with this look. Perfectly complementing the bold red dress (try Black Halo's Bustier Detail Pleated Mini Dress in Persimmon) with a black skinny belt (try Linea Pelle's Skinny Multi Hole Hip and Waist Belt in Black) complementing the scalloped, beaded shoulder accents, Diane chose edgy bondage heels, a slender clutch (like Julie K's Sarah Clutch in Black Glaze) and a wristful of Tom Binns' Pearls in Peril bracelets (check out Alex and Ani's Joie de Vivre Expandable Wire Bangle Set in Gold) to put her signature spin on the look. I don't know what else to say except that this look is flawless – do any of you disagree? Though Diane supported her man Jason Wu, nominated for the Emerging Talent award, he didn't take home the accolades but the woman who made him famous did. Although Michelle Obama couldn't attend, she received the CFDA Board of Directors' Special Tribute award. Can't say I disagree – the First Lady has breathed fashion back into politics in a perfectly non-discriminatory way. Her favorite designers range from Wu to Michael Kors and J Crew – quite a range of styles there! Which high and low end designers do you wear together?
